Sorry, you answered while i was grabbing the quote for my neta. So between 5 and 7?
I fail to see the logic here. Why would a list “prevents them from being able to suddenly shift their opinions without reason”. Given the fact that a list doesn’t force anyone making them to give a reason in the first place?
And I also fail to see why changing you mind and why a shift of opinions is a Scum-tell. I think we all have to state what we thing - and to give reasons for this is - IMO - more important that to just make a list of “I feel townie-vibes” and “Scummy-pings”.
Did you even do a list? I can’t find it right now…
So which of the two are you most suspicions of now? And what info are you pending? Would that be a responds from one of them?
The downside to posting as I catch up. Sorry.
Thank you for articulating my issue with lists and the logic being given regarding them in this game.
I don’t know how to explain it to you. I respect you greatly but we’re on different planets with playstyle. You won’t be able to judge this until you see his reveal, and mine.
Keep in mind what Biotop said, though. Unless you think Prof P and I are both members of the same scum team (and if you do, I understand that, but upon reveals it will be shown to be untrue), I can’t know (for sure) what he is.
If I’m scum from the other team what would my motive be for fighting so hard to save him? It’s not to make me look townie because I could very well be on the other scum team under these circumstances. There’s no benefit to me (as scum from another team). My benefit would be to just let him hang.
If you think we’re scum from the same team, this is contrary to every element of my scum playstyle, what I’m doing now. But you have no way of knowing that. You’ll see when I’m revealed.
I’m fighting my ass off for him because I’m virtually certain he’s a mislynch and I don’t want to see any more mislynches. I’m not fighting my ass off for Idle because I could see Idle flip either way, and because I share your assessment of his play crossing the line into abusive here.
There’s a possibility I’m wrong about Prof. P. I know that and if I’m wrong I’m going to have a real problem because people will jump to the conclusion I’m his scum teammate.
When I say unshakeable faith, I am confident enough in my abilities to know when town is telling the truth that I’ve put myself on the line for him. I can’t know it objectively but I know it subjectively enough to make a big inconvenient fuss about it.

No worries, I was just clarifying in case you didn’t see that. This fan is a beast to catch up with.

Game, not fan.

I remain comfortable worth my vote on you. Not reading the rules, or the role pms is … Whatever. But the town wincon in the pm you say you got gives the actual number of scum.
Sorry, gonna read the rest of your post after this.
My boldz: Are you fucking kidding me? Every time YOU play, you get offed for acting like a douche, and you’re blaming US? Maybe you should think about who’s making mistakes over and over here?
Quick check-in here as we approach EOD. I’ll be intermittently available and checking in. Between the two leaders, I’d rather see Idle lynched and would change my vote if it were necessary to make that happen.
I would like to make it clear that I am in no hurry to lynch Crys or other cult-members. I will feel different later in the game if more information indicates that they play against the Town. But for now I am fine with them in the game.
Also I tend to believe ToeJams’s claim for now. If a counterclaim was to be posted I’d without question go back and re-read. But for now I see no reason not to wait and see what will happen before lynching.
I have to admit that I tend to trust Squid a little too much. It has cost me a game-life before, but I don’t find the reasons behind the votes enough for me to join in.
A part of my problem in this game right now is, that I am having a hard time telling some of the players (that I haven’t played with so often) apart. It makes it hard for me to follow along.
Also a few questions:
@Paul - can you link to where you posted you suspicion of DiggitCamera first?
@Angle - did BillMc’s reply to you change the way you view he (re your list)
@HookerChemical - can you remind me who you were voting before post 814 where you unvote all and votes Pleonast?
At no point did I accuse you of being scum, nor was that supposed to be the implication of me questioning your “unshakeable faith”. There was no subtext to my post there, but you seem to be reading a lot into it. I feel like that was a really overly defensive response, and I’m not sure what to think about that. No FoS for it, but perhaps a slightly raised eyebrow of Hmm for you, which I did not have before.
Unvote Boozahol Squid
Vote Idle
I probably won’t be able to watch for potential shenanigans in real time, we’re going to adopt a cat today. My vote is apparently needed here if more of you are voting for Prof. P.
OK. This is enough to convince me of the possibility that Idle is scum.
**unvote: ProfP
vote: Idle **
ProfP, you’re not off the hook with me, though. I respect Angel’s intuition, but I think she’s wrong about you. And her continuing scum-wouldn’t-do-that arguments might convince me about some, but we’ve seen Angel do everything as scum. What’s your opinion of her this game?
I didn’t think you were accusing me of being scum. I’m trying to state my conviction in a way that makes sense to those of you who are strictly logic oriented.
I am overly defensive. Of my play style. I’ve been told I suck for it, including in this game. (Not by you.)
I’m trying to communicate how/why I play this way for people who don’t know me and think I’m insane-- I’m trying to convince people of the validity of my read on Prof. P. as town.
Huh…you’re right. Says 14. Damn, that’s a lot of scum.
I didn’t see that part of the PM.
Oh, you…who has played all of–what–two or three games with me?
Sorry, you got it wrong. Most of the time I play, when I get offed (if I get offed), it’s for regular or good reasons.
The three or four times I’ve been “offed for acting like a douche” as you put it, are really times when players (usually those new to playing with me, such as yourself) vote for me for reasons that are either weak, foolish, meta-y (see: This game)…OR…fr reasons that should be null tells (I.E. Always claiming on Day One–which most old time players know not to vote for me for that because it’s something I always do, scum or town…but that newer players always see as hinky at first).
But no worries, my good friend…I think you’re town this game.
You really haven’t been paying attention have you?
There are 4 lights!..um…I mean 14 scum!
It’s in the PMs all Town received. It’s also in the roles document if you count them.
Anyway…
unvote boozy
vote prof pepperwinkle
Boozy train isn’t going anywhere. Idle’s behavior isn’t scummy. It’s flaky; it’s annoying; it’s extremely anti-town (though, his recent posts show he actually wants to play instead of being a pissy bitch like his first posts toDay were). But who’s actually voting him for being scummy?
I said I can’t find much fault in those who want him lynched due to his behavior, but it’s still lazy play (lazy does not equate to scummy, though scum will frequently be more apt to aim for lazy plays because they already have perfect knowledge of who isn’t on their team). He’s now given indication he wants to play and he seems to be trying to do just that. (Though, really, if he’s still alive toNight he might want to read his role closer and maybe get in his head who’s dead.)
The cases against prof actually show scum behavior. I know some of you (partcularly Angel think he’s overwhelmed town having played with him before. But I’ve never played with him before. I’ve kibitzed a couple games he’s been in and don’t remember much even from that. (Though, I always get him and plumpudding confused because of their alliterative names.)
TotalLost, I didn’t see this while I was busy replying to BuffTabby. Yes, I’m back to neutral with Bill. His explanation of his comment to me about the lists makes sense and feels sincere.

A few more posts that came in while I was composing my last one…anyway.
I see nothing wrong with this post. Angel has been consistently defending Prof. P. However…
This post rubs in all the wrong places. It’s just awful. Seriously bad.
You’re voting someone for flaking on the rules, even though you are switching your vote off of someone you find scummy? The guy already said he had strong town leanings on a Dead and confirmed Brewha! Idle’s clearly being a flake here. No scum is going to not know the number of scum in the game if their paying attention. No townie won’t know either. This isn’t a tell, it’s Idle being dumb. And it’s an extremely awful reason to switch your vote from someone you find scummy. Seriously, if prof is scum, you’re probably on his team.
No, I don’t think I’ve played with you before.
"Well, I’ll tell you…because it happens in** most ALL GAMES** that I play in: People get annoyed and/or irritated with me, they start voting for me being SO SURE I must be scum, because they say I play so “anti-town”…and then…OOPS…I turn out to be Town. "
