Can’t agree with this. Why the urgent need to find out? They are not going anywhere, and we are a long way from where they could possibly be a threat.
And I don’t think it makes any sense as a scum gambit. Do you really think this will help them survive to endgame? While there may be some occasions for scum to try something crazy, it wouldn’t be on Day 2.
I’ll add that I rather doubt that a cultist flip will reveal whether they are hostile. Their role includes the statement “You are no threat to any side. Good luck convincing them of this”. If they are revealed as non hostile then that would be convincing. Anyway, we will find out eventually. Just not toDay.
if that is the case then it is very selfish to commit ritual suicide rather than let someone else sub in; if it’s a case that they couldn’t find a sub, then then that does kinda suggest sario was the least valuable of the roles needing a sub - which paints a big target on our new subs. to put a positive slant on it, sario could have used the power n1 and/or n2, and actually saved some from a nk
If they’re scum, they don’t need to survive to end game. They just need to survive long enough to do damage with whichever power they have. As there are several people pulling for “leave them alone until later in the game,” we can hardly call the idea of such a plan completely out of left field.
Lynching Sachertorte may or may not net us scum, but it will definitely not result in a town lynch* and it will definitely give us hard facts that we do not currently have.
HOWEVER, this just bugs the shit out of me:
I don’t see how this can be interpreted as anything but extremely anti-town. This game is already ludicrous and we know the mods are having a hard time keeping up. Encouraging behavior that would disrupt the actual working of the game has such enormous potential to backfire and hurt town that I can’t even fathom this sort of attitude.
Not to mention that it’s a serious jerk move.
ToeJam is my second choice for a vote.
*Unless he’s lying town, in which case lynch him anyway.
I never saw Squid’s non-reply to me. My suspicion list is the same as yours with the addition of Prof P.
I think we need the two lynches and I definitely think Toejam must be resolved today. So I’all be voting whichever of these people is a viable second lynch, and stating for the record I would also vote for Toejam.
In all seriousness, just how many times this game are you going to claim that you can’t be scum because you did something that’s a neutral tell at best?
I’m not claiming I can’t be scum here. I know I’m town and Prof P knows my playstyle, so I’m suspicious of him for making an issue over something that he knows is contrary to my playstyle. This argument wasn’t to defend me, it’s to explain where my suspicions arose from.
Stop tunneling. I don’t even have votes on me right now. You don’t like my playstyle? That’s fine, I don’t like yours either. I’m not going to stop contributing what I can because you don’t like it. This is suspicious behavior coming from him towards me.
Zeriel, besides me who else are you suspicious of? I’m not capable of doing a WOW on my phone but I just looked at your ISO and I see nothing but fluff, negativity towards me, general policy stands and comments on mechanics. It’s entirely possible that I’m missing something trying to read this way, so if so please correct me.
Scum exposing themselves like this for maybe some extra Nights to use their powers looks pretty well out of left field. They were not under pressure so it looks an incredibly unlikely scenario.
Yes, lynching one of them will net us hard facts. It is also extremely likely to be a mislynch.
I do see you voted Crys because she has a “hinky story” and you believe in the multilynch. Then you announce a policy suspicion of any voters who don’t vote in a way that will execute the multilynch.
I believe Crys’s story. I was nevertheless for her lynch because I misunderstood the scum wincons. I agree with you about the multilynch, but I don’t like your blanket policy suspicion.
The fact that there are two scum teams and that the town is clearly not currently winning, makes me think a scum ploy is unlikely. I would like to kill a cultist at some point, too much of what Crys said and did makes no sense, but I think hunting for scum takes priority.
I don’t find the ToeJam case particularly compelling, though I admit I’m not exactly sure what the case is at this point. There are number of other players that I’d like to look closer at, so that is where I’m going to start.
I was not originally on board with the toejam lynch, as I have previously mentioned, due to where and when it started. But I’m coming around. His reaction to my plan(which I fully realize was bad now) was not the reaction of someone being honest. How you go from “Batman can claim to give us more information that toejam is scum!” to “Batman totally should not claim just to save me!” is beyond me. But twisting someone’s words to protect themselves, or smear them in case of scum card flip, is exactly the sort of thing that scum would do. I’m leaving my vote on ender for now, but I’m open to moving it depending on how things go.
