Mafia Reunion - Day Two

Wouldn’t it be better for Batman to try to hit scum? I can’t imagine any scenario where I would want Batman aiming at someone he thought was town.

It might be true that Brewha* is* scum, but I’m not inclined to think so, at least for the moment.

Per the mods, ToeJam isn’t due to be modkilled any earlier than Dawn of Day 3. If you want him dead by Night 2, you will need to keep your vote on him.

NETA: Number one rule of gun safety: Always point the muzzle in a safe direction; never point a firearm at anyone or anything you don’t want to shoot.

" Any player who goes a full Day-Night cycles without contributing to the thread will be replaced"

** PCM ** is in that puddle too if I read this right? ( they missed N1)- but I read Day/Night cycle. so I don’t think Night then Day triggers it?

Looks like we’re not going to get a consensus about whether or not Batman should target me. If I look at switches through the eyes of an electrician, I gotta wonder if the switches are in series or in parallel.

The they are in series - which I assumed - then either of the switches would break the connection and shut off Batman’s powers.

But, if they are parallel, both switches would have to be off to break the connection. If only one switch is off, the power is still active.

I’m flipping my switch tonight.

I guess whether I not I get an attempted vig is up to Batman at this point. If he (and I’m going to use the pronoun “he” for everyone for whom I know not the gender - don’t read anything into it) decides to target someone else, he’ll at least know if my switch shut off his power.

We won’t know if if the other switch holder flipped theirs or whether or not both switches were needed to shut it off.

And, the town isn’t going to know for sure what happened if I survive the night. Did Batman fail to kill me? Did he target someone else and failed? Did his kill go through the the mafia kill(s) were somehow thwarted?

I guess all we really know is that some stuff is going to go down tonight and we’ll have to sort it out when the dust clears.

If ToeJam shows up at the last minute Today, we lynch him Tomorrow. There’s no hurry.

Well, then I would argue voting for him is not lazy or worthy of FOS. He can stop the mod-kill by showing up and participating. I think he’s scum. I can only do my part to ensure his lynch by voting for him.

Secondarily, I understood it to be a simple Day/Night cycle of non-participation and he was due up end of toDay/beginning of Night 2. Thank you for the cite. It’s a little confusing, but on re-read I see that that is when he accrues the penalty but the mod-kills will happen at Dawn.

I suppose, if there’s a clearer candidate. I will reserve judgment. There is time.

Ladies and gentlemen, for those of you looking for a lurker to vote for, may I suggest Hal Briston!. Three posts on Day One, one apologizing for lurking and two wondering whether the scum have a Night kill or not. No sign of him yet Today.

The lynch supercedes everything else. Also, people will be mod killed at Dawn not with the lynch. This gives us time to sub them out if possible.

So, essentially, you expect something magical to happen?
I’m not liking the lack of paranoia in jsgoddess.

You are way overthinking this. We have 5 deaths and one mod kill and no indication of switches. The likelihood of being told about switches goes down with each death with no switch reveal. Very soon we will have more deaths and more info or lack of info about switch reveals at death. Do we really need to know right now? Why are we going to kill brewha just to verify something that we will figure out fairly definitively soon enough anyway?

And it’s seriously weird that brewha is okay with all this.

In my opinion, I’m holding off on voting for Toejam in favor of a mod kill. If ToeJam shows up last minute, it may or may not be a good thing. For example, if ToeJam claims a Town Power then it will be quite fortuitous that we didn’t Lynch him or have him mod killed. If he just shows up to avoid the mod-kill then disappears again, then we will have to Lynch him the next day and be grumpy (I’ll be seriously pissed). If he does something in between, then we judge based on the facts.

I have to admit, this game has lost a bit of its shine. I was really into it last week, but this week, I’m a bit meh.

Neither. The switches are a three-way switch. If both are untouched, the power is on. if both are touched, the power is on. If one is flipped and the other not flipped, the power is off. I don’t want to ask mod questions in the main thread about someone else’s private message (that’s just weird and open to abuse). I suggest you ask the mods by PM to clarify your switch to you. Ask them to define “on” “off” and “toggle” with respect to your switch and the other switch that goes with yours. Using “on” and “off” in your PM when the rules state “toggle” is messed up and probably the cause of much confusion.

Any other configuration (series or parallel) doesn’t make sense game-wise.

I used the term “one post wonder” ?:eek:

Nope. No new thoughts…

I’ll be overly blunt.

Those of us without switches couldn’t care less.

No I mean seriously. You don’t want our feedback, and won’t heed it anyway.

Other than Briston, all the 5-post or fewer players from Day one are either one-posters on the road to modkill (Skeezix, precambrian) or have shown signs of upping their game Today (Idle, Koldanar, Khameleon, and especially Inner Stickler).

NETA: sorry, make that 3 posts or fewer.

You think Town attempting to control an action to the extent possible and observe the results is magic? Saying it’s not worth the risk is one thing, but to say that it’s so impossible to get anything from it that it’s dependent on magic is something else.

+1

You have convinced me. I will move my vote. I will be seriously irritated if we have to lynch later, but it can be done.

Unvote ToeJam
Vote Plumpudding

I feel a bit the same way, but as I mentioned in the last thread I’m single-parenting this week, so I’m not quite as “squirrel” with this thread as I was last week. (It was my new, shiny precious last week IOW.) I think it’s just sinking in how large this game is.

Yo peeps! Plum in da hud…

OOG: I’m kinda smashed, had an exam today - passed (wuhu), and had a great rehersal today that crushed my skull to bits.

On the brewha/switch situation… I’m against it right now. I don’t know how I’ll feel tomorrow, but there’s something gunky about it. Need fresh eyes.

FOS jsgoddess, why not!

FOS Pleonast. But…

Could you please explain this to me? Maybe I’m dimwitted but I don’t understand you. If you would be so kind to provide links or quotes, maybe put some emphasis here and there… If it isn’t to much of a bother.

On multi-lynches: I only have one experience with this, but what made it beautiful, IMO effective AND kept it clear vote-records-wise, was how it happened in the moment. It was kinda like a hookup classified ad in a grocery store. Us had to move around, allright, but so did scum, with way worse justifications, in a worse circumstance, for having to do so. Our movements made them move, so their movements made us move again and so on and so forth. Me and Nada were buddy-bros from there on out. High-five SNF!

Anyway, if I didn’t make it clear, I’m against co~ordinated multi-lynches as talked about in this game, though not at all against listing your suspects from top to bottom.

Yo babe, don’t be down. :frowning:
