I flipped the bodyguard switch last night so if the other switch wasn’t thrown I could have just very well saved someone’s behind at the end of day today. If that isn’t trying to protect towns interest idk what is.

Ummm, the wording on our switch PMs is identical, except for the power (or maybe it’s the same power. I’m not going to reveal what switch I have).

Redacted, maybe. But I simply cannot see two masonic groups like these, both being on the town side. And we KNOW there is a legitimately townie masonic group out there.

One of the pointers to said redaction is that we have the win conditions which explicitly state (bleached):

Win Conditions
Win conditions will be checked in the following order every Dawn and every Dusk:
Town Wins! if all 14 Scum players are dead.
Mafia Wins! if the total number of living Mafia is greater than or equal to 50% of the total population AND greater than the number of living Wolves.
Wolves Win! if the total number of living Wolves is greater than or equal to 50% of the total population AND greater than the number of living Mafia.
Third party win conditions are checked after checking all three of the above. Thus, a Town win supersedes an exclusive third party win even if both occur simultaneously.

I’m not seeing the contradiction here. If town wins, or mafia wins, or wolves win, then the game ends. If a malicious third party wins then the game ends. If any of the cultists are still alive when the game ends then they win.

Is it because it does not specifically state that they share the win?

The key word there is exclusive. Crys is claiming a non-exclusive wincon.

That doesn’t seem contradictory to me. Maybe I am missing something, but a survivor would win with whoever wins, as long as they are alive when the game ends. this is a (supposedly) a group of survivor-types, who all win as lon as one of them survives. The win condition for the group, in other words, is keep at least one member alive to end game, whether end game is Town outnumbering scum, or scum outnumbering Town and other scum.

You may be right. However, that makes them, at best, a neutral group. And by her own admission, a neutral group with a switch in her hands. That switch gives her an (additional?) power… and we don’t know whether the other cult members have other powers which could come to bite us in the ass.

One possibility that comes to mind and which would modify our behavior towards them is that they have all the power to search for their fellow cultists and, once they have found them, they gain some additional power to forward their individual win condition.

Unlike the other roles, the third party’s powers and win conditions are unknown. I think it’s in our best interest to get them out of the way. YMMV
