Mafia Reunion - Day Two

On switches and their holders:
We have three claimants. Brewha was the first to claim, Crys and Captain Klutz followed. Captain and Crys claim scum role switches and have very similar switch PMs. Brewha can push Batman’s buttons.

I understand the concern for Crys and about third parties, but that role PM is something Mahaloth and/or storyteller would write. (NAF, I don’t know what your solo role PMs read like, so I can’t say.) I don’t think it’s fabricated. It would take more than scooping out a couple of words to change it from win stealing to win sharing. It’s semi-masonic survivors. I’m inclined to let it go for now.

Of the three switch claimants, there are the fewest issues with Captain’s claim.

Brewha is the odd one out. They’ve lied about switch information, and their quoted PM doesn’t match the others. The only thing that doesn’t ping me is the fact that brewha was the first to claim a switch. Still, that’s not enough. The other supporting evidence (lie about switches, mismatched PM) is enough to draw a vote.

Bolding mine.

Yes, when he was called out, and not one moment before.

Good point. But at least he didn’t try and weasel out of it. I keep going back and forth on the two. Immaneed to let the sleuthjuice stew for a bit before I cast a vote.

It strikes me as weird that brewha’s PM is so very different than the other two, but it also strikes me as weird that Crys voted Captain for it, rather than Brewha.

(I really want the sleuth+beer smilie here)

Cheers!

SnFaulkner - what are you editing in your posts?

This issue really does need to be addressed by Crys. Does she see something we don’t?

What would you do if you were scum caught in an undeniable lie? The clearly weasely thing or the apparently Townie thing? If a Town **brewha[:"/b] lied, and then immediately realized it as he said, that seems like the sort of mea culpa that would belong in the ‘btw I have a switch’ post, if we’re giving points for ‘transparency’.

I quoted his post before the edit - that was pretty clearly a typo. I hate editing, I really do. In Mafia anyway. But this is an easily answered question. Look at my quote of his post.

It’s either super scecret scum communique, or fixing retarded autoincorrections.

I agree, it seems scummy. Almost TOO scummy. But I’m waiting to hear back from crys (and drink a few more beers) before cast a vote for either.

Can someone clarify the way that masons usually work? (I know, I know, the Education of Raventhief gets old fast)

Do Masons usually have a way to communicate/discuss outside of the game? Or is it just identifying other trustworthy souls?

I doubt it was a super secret scum message, but it very possibly could have been a super secret cultist message to Crys.

Pedit: Raven, sometimes they have a board to discuss on, but looking at their PMs in this game, it doesn’t look like they do. They just know who the other masons are and that they can be trusted as town.

Really? :dubious:

Jesus, guys. I head home, get the kids, and then get two more switch claims and a third party claim?

Crys, I’m confused with your motivations here. Why not would you even claim at all? If you really thought he was with you, why not investigate tonight? Are you worried he will be lynched?

I thought I was going to read tonight and be ready to Lynch, but damn. I need to think again.

Please don’t hate me if I can’t tomorrow. I have the kids to myself for most of the day.

Also, on mobile…can anyone bring together all three switch claims in one post?

Texcat, go compare post 617 with 618, then tell me what secret cult message I disseminated to crys. If you still think I deserve a vote…well, let’s just say your townies quotient drops significantly.

Seconding the raised eyebrow at snfaulkner. But we’ve got a clear liar here in brewha. Not sure what’s up with the gambit of claiming possession of a switch first, but a true Townie would have remembered his lie (especially since his story was that he knew he’d done it and regretted it immediately) and brought it up in his claim post, instead of hoping nobody would remember it.

Also, for what it’s worth (aka not much), I’m not a cultist. Crys, I’m taking you at your word when I ask this question… Why did you investigate me? Was it something specific you thought you saw, or just a stab in the dark?

Well, OK it doesn’t really look like a cultist message. But the real question is why I would vote for a suspected cultist when I’m not voting for a claimed cultist. I was waiting for Crys to get back and explain her intuition. But why wait?

I wasn’t too upset by brewha’s lie, but I am very curious about Crys75’s strong desire to keep him alive.

Crys’s claimed role looks a bit odd. If the idea is that they find each other and can then work together, it seems a rather nasty limitation to only be able to find one fellow member.

I would prefer a Crys lynch over brewha. If scum do hold the other Batman switch then they will want him dead anyway, so no need to do their work for them (unless brewha was lying about that too).

I have doubts about Crys’s claim, the necessity for the claim and the strong desire to keep brewha alive.
