Because, again, according to the roles page, Mafia kills at day and Wolves kill at night.
Oh, right. Well, flog me for forgetting.
mate that with the ‘early’ D1 vote for Lakai V1 with no content. Also a Town lynch,
That wee bit of information should have had some bearing on your earlier comment about being quiet at Night=
consider your self flogged
It still doesn’t change my point, though. Wolves are trying to figure out who to kill. Every bit of information town gives them (and town always provides true information as town understands it), is more data for them.
But I can see I’m not being convincing, so I’ll drop it.
This is where I am with all of this:
The scale of the game disenfranchises Vanilla Town (participation). Like, to a level I don’t think anyone saw coming.
This game is so entirely easy to skim, if not ignore outright, because everyone is so preliminary on everyone else. They remain that way. Consistently. If you doubt me, assume you are playing as vanilla town, and don’t have the vocabulary, let alone alphabet of half the stuff you are watching. Everything, everyone, every post, is skimmable, until it isn’t. It’s becomes unskimmable the moment a vote, or plain English makes a demand on those who aren’t power roles.
If we repeat a game with such a big player base again, I would suggest that power roles are reconfigured. I fear the mods simply “fixed” the setup with addition, when something closer to multiplication would have been better. We needed more powers than we got in this game, on a manifold scale, not a number line, or tally system, where every fifth player got a slanted line, and a power.
The real issue is this.
I can, and frankly probably will, drop out of this game of my own volition. However, you will not mourn me. Not because of me personally, … Not because “Oh great Meeko is not longer playing” … But because even my death, at vanilla town is even more further disposable. I stop playing, and nothing changes. Worse, one of the people who has been lurking, also at vanilla town, will probably step up into their originally assigned role at the time I step down anyway. ((Finding a sub for me will not matter))
No.
At this scale, people who can’t give damn, won’t.
The curve into the ivory tower is too high. It does not matter what I do, I am a have not, and my opinion doesn’t matter. The game will believe any claim, and every claim, and that brand of noise will kick Vanilla Town off the radar.
Let’s not even start with the continued double standard of not being able to parse me. Like it’s my fault I speak over you guys. Yes. I said that. No, I won’t change it, or take it back, because we all know I can’t. I do not understand, why you do not understand me, even more than you don’t understand me to begin with.
A bone or two towards me, asking me to clarify? Nope.
I’m not saying I should be ““invited”” to play more, after the game has started. But I see a lot of the opposite happening as is. Directly or indirectly, “active” (relative term) vanilla town has no reason to stay in this game now.
I still don’t think the rest claiming is a good idea. There will be nothing keeping a vig to start picking us off one by one.

NETA: I mean, if I spoke a different language, or used broken English, I would understand “Herp A Derp, we don’t understand you. And you smell!”
But, I’m using the same 26 letters you guys are. I’m using the same words you are using too.
Perhaps an array of colorful text will get you points across more effectively.
Give me an example of how it can actually hurt town to have more discussion.
The Reverse Tinkerbell Effect.
Town, work with me on this.
- I personally don’t think I even need this list, or the immediate above disclaimer. Am I off base here?
Also, inject this base question after each of my following bullet points: “Is Meeko off base in asking this, or assuming this?”
1.If “The Reverse Tinkerbell Effect” is a new thing to you:
1.A. There is an assumption that you treat it as a real thing, and not something I am making up.
1.B. ""Oh wow, that’s [To steal from TNG’s Data] intriguing!‘’
1.B.i That makes me want to go Google “The Reverse Tinkerbell Effect” right now…
1.C Return to the game and discuss.
2.If It’s not a new concept:
2.A Right On! You know something I didn’t know yesterday.
2.B Bonus points if we both love Vsauce. [[GOTO Step 1.B.i if you don’t get “Vsauce”, it’s kinda interesting how this concept repeats itself. … Except, not.]]
2.C discuss
Everyone is a safe driver. Therefore, I can reduce my level of careful attention when driving, because no one is slacking off, and I don’t have to over compensate. This in turn, leads to more car accidents, instead of less.
3.A This should be obvious that this is an example of Reverse Tinkerbell.
3.B You should assume, and make a parallel to Mafia.
3.C I shouldn’t have to spoon feed it in with the following:
Too much conversation can serve to be redundant and or pure noise. We are at a point in time now where more tactics [[specific]] are needed over strategy [[general]].
- Speaking of redundancies, I find the words within brackets to be redundant.
5.Yes, there is a relationship here with my previous post on me debating dropping out.
5.A … You know what, I think you get where I’m going with this.
After my Snark and Condesedension die down, I hope you guys get the gist of why I broke this post down. … I make shortcuts. I thought we all did. If I really had to assume everything that could not possibly be known by other players in my posts, and annotate them… I wouldn’t play. No one would read my posts. Not like they read them now anyway… Kinda like a Laffer Curve*.
*Oh, and I’m fairly certain that the Laffer Curve is older than I am. Or at least, within five years of my birth. I’m not going to explain this. Because, well, I just explained why it would be fruitless to, do so. … You see, in my mind it sets up a Laffer Curv… Wait a second.
Or you know, you can explain what the hell you are talking about. Hey, ever heard of the reverse tinkerbell effect? It mean the more you believe in something the more likely it is to vanish. this relates to Mafia in that …And now I’m out, because I have no idea what parallel you are trying to draw here. Expecting us to make assumptions to follow along with your thought process means that inevitably some of us will get it wrong. That’s what assumptions lead to, because we don’t all think the way you do. Maybe being cryptic is part of Meeko Mafia, I don’t know.
Upon preview - it’s unlikely that any two people are going to make the same kind of shortcuts you do. My assumptions are not going to match yours, right? This is a game of words, remember? Not shortcuts or google research.
I don’t know if I can be a hard ass / impossible … And be a realist at the same time, but I think we can both agree that the burden of explaining does, at a point in time, cease to be the posters responsibility.
Also, I would argue, being cryptic, strategically, has it’s place in Mafia. Any brand of Mafia.
NETA why couldn’t you say, instead assuming shortcuts and Vsauce and goto commands :
Well, too much discussion can hurt town by creating too much noise. An example is could be that we haven’t yet hit a single scum, and this is Post 1253 on D2.
Upon preview. Ah, so it’s our burden to understand you, rather than an inefficiency in your assumptions and communication? If you are not getting through to us, it’s all our fault because you are so far above us?
And yes, cryptic has its place. I can’t fully argue that. Is that place, everywhere, all the time, to the point that it hurts your own team?
(And yes, Town is “my team.” If Town wins, I won, even if I am dead.)
 You actually googled it.
But seriously, I connected Tinkerbell to Mafia at uh, 3 and a Half. My bad for dropping the numbers there. I’ll own that.
No, my bad for my eyes glazing over a bit and just kind of mentally skipping over the actual connection. That was me skimming within a single post, i guess. THat’s why I added to it with th connection itself. That was my fault, I’ll own that.
I honestly don’t know why I couldn’t say that. Perhaps, that diction is as foreign to me, as my diction is to yours.
What is inefficient about using actual terms for established concepts? … It’s like, if you raise a kid up to call his “special purpose” a “fireman*” or what have you, if he gets molested and makes a report to a police officer, using the terms he has, …you’re going to have a bad time**. … I see it as being more inefficient to make up incorrect terms.
Perhaps, it really is like Einstein said, "Two things are limitless, Space and Stupidity. And I’m not so sure about the first one.” — I’m not sure a litmus* exists that would tell me when to start or stop over explaining things. It’s not practical.
A Southpark reference.
** See above, except I totally didn’t plan on also writing this one, until I got there. If Ad Libs can exist in text medium, this would be one of them.
Einstein was this really smart guy, I think he built a Time Masheen to save the Brawndo from the UN back when Hitler rode dinosaurs*.
**** I honestly don’t know what I have to explain. There is no real pause for me.
***** Brought to you by Carl’s Jr.
I actually got all the references you put in there. Doesn’t matter. It seems like you are saying that speaking without putting in as many references to everything that you know (or have a shortcut to) is foreign to you. See previous example of discussion being bad for town in certain circumstances. It’s not dumbing down to just answer a question without referencing the reverse tinkerbell effect or thinking that it’s like calling a penis a “fireman.” Or for that matter “a special purpose.”
But like I said, you do you. It appears that you find everyone around you stupid, so that’s …fun, I guess.
Brawndo - it’s got what plants crave!
** Meeko ** not quoting your posts but I did read them. It is like you are looking at the game with a popsicle stick up your butt. ( no offense * it is your popsicle and you own it *) .Every Mafia game no matter what you are randed, you play * your game * isn’t that the challenge. " job well done" or " oops I borked that" is all part of it.
Some can’t see what you are saying- happens all the time. but throwing in the towel is not the way to go about your frustration.*
what is the difference-- people often do not understand you- the same happens to me frequently- in game and out - there are other players that don’t parse well to some–. we perservere- it is what we do.
*[sub] unless, of course, you are Scum- not really [/sub]
Ignore Meeko. Works for me.
