I actually got all the references you put in there. Doesn’t matter. It seems like you are saying that speaking without putting in as many references to everything that you know (or have a shortcut to) is foreign to you. See previous example of discussion being bad for town in certain circumstances. It’s not dumbing down to just answer a question without referencing the reverse tinkerbell effect or thinking that it’s like calling a penis a “fireman.” Or for that matter “a special purpose.”

But like I said, you do you. It appears that you find everyone around you stupid, so that’s …fun, I guess.

And yes, my brain does do this thing, where it will form thoughts … And I’ll type them in, … Long before I realize all the angles. Case in point, while I was aware I was quoting (and also not referencing Idiocracy by name… Believe it or not, the whole entire parallel of suggesting I consider my self to be living in Idiocracy when I play Mafia, wasn’t a direct or even passive jab. … Yeah, after I posted it, I could have :smack::smack::smack: myself for doing that, but frankly, most times, when my brain does that, … That’s when I get the moonshot ideas or best plays. I don’t seek to edit them as perhaps I should. I don’t think editing serves a purpose… It loses something. The risk is worth it.

Straight up. I had one game in recent memory, where I actually did put forth a breadcrumb. I don’t think I even ever mentioned it until now.

I think this game was on Giraffe. I said something absurdly cryptic (yes, even for me) for like four lines, or one paragraph of text. I started the relevant text with the word “Seek” ((I don’t remember that much about this, but I think Seek is kinda … Not used that often, so hopefully we can find it through that.)) …and I used " -k " at the end. The implication of the crumb was Seek minus k … Or “See”.

What’s baking my noodle, is that, this is the only actual legit, oh my god, I need to in earnest send a message via breadcrumb to my team, breadcrumb I can remember doing, with any detail. The ironic thing of it, is that “See” points me to thinking that in the “See” message, I was actually referring to other breadcrumbs.

Sure, I’ll give you a hypothetical.

Let’s say scum are trying to choose between two townies to kill at night. Bob (a power role) and Jane (vanilla).

At night, town comes to an agreement that Jane has been acting scumminly and should be a top lynch contender the following day.

Scum kills Bob, knowing that Jane (who is not scum) will be in the crosshairs the following day.

If town hadn’t come to that conclusion at night, scum might have killed Jane and town would have come out ahead.

Make sense?

I think it’s silly… if Jane was acting scummy, she would have already been in hot water the previous Day. Or did a case against them suddenly get built based entirely on what she said in the Night thread? I’m guessing that going into Night the wolves already have an idea of who they want to target.

Paulwhoisaghost aggressively pushed for the brewha lynch, coming up with highly illogical arguments to try to attribute scum motivation to brewha, and although he was quite active in the thread towards EoD, never really addressed the rebuttals to those arguments.

I’m interested in what illogical arguments you are talking about. I’m also interested to hear why you point out how illogical they were at the time… or offer any real support that Brewha wasn’t scum.

The scale of the game disenfranchises Vanilla Town (participation). Like, to a level I don’t think anyone saw coming.

This game is so entirely easy to skim, if not ignore outright, because everyone is so preliminary on everyone else. They remain that way. Consistently. If you doubt me, assume you are playing as vanilla town, and don’t have the vocabulary, let alone alphabet of half the stuff you are watching. Everything, everyone, every post, is skimmable, until it isn’t. It’s becomes unskimmable the moment a vote, or plain English makes a demand on those who aren’t power roles.

If we repeat a game with such a big player base again, I would suggest that power roles are reconfigured. I fear the mods simply “fixed” the setup with addition, when something closer to multiplication would have been better. We needed more powers than we got in this game, on a manifold scale, not a number line, or tally system, where every fifth player got a slanted line, and a power.

The real issue is this.

I can, and frankly probably will, drop out of this game of my own volition. However, you will not mourn me. Not because of me personally, … Not because “Oh great Meeko is not longer playing” … But because even my death, at vanilla town is even more further disposable. I stop playing, and nothing changes. Worse, one of the people who has been lurking, also at vanilla town, will probably step up into their originally assigned role at the time I step down anyway. ((Finding a sub for me will not matter))

At this scale, people who can’t give damn, won’t.

The curve into the ivory tower is too high. It does not matter what I do, I am a have not, and my opinion doesn’t matter. The game will believe any claim, and every claim, and that brand of noise will kick Vanilla Town off the radar.

Let’s not even start with the continued double standard of not being able to parse me. Like it’s my fault I speak over you guys. Yes. I said that. No, I won’t change it, or take it back, because we all know I can’t. I do not understand, why you do not understand me, even more than you don’t understand me to begin with.

A bone or two towards me, asking me to clarify? Nope.

I’m not saying I should be ““invited”” to play more, after the game has started. But I see a lot of the opposite happening as is. Directly or indirectly, “active” (relative term) vanilla town has no reason to stay in this game now.[/spoiler]

No really though… there are plenty of other vanilla townies in the game. I only see one crying foul and making a scene about how disenfranchised they are. Either play or don’t. At least if you don’t then we don’t have to waste a Lynch on you. And we both know that is exactly where this headed… another Meeko mislynch.

Also, I’m still honestly a fan of us Townies targeting ourselves if we have no powers and just sending it in to the Mods. I’ve been doing that each night, just in case. It might be silly, but then again, it might actually help the town out, as it doesn’t really harm the Town in any way either, but it could confuse any Scum Watchers. But yeah. Every bit of WIFOM for the Scum. Then again, I guess just PMing the Mods and seeing if that’d work might solve that Q of mine.

I read that quote and didn’t have a clue on how to parse it. How do you target yourself if you have no power to target anyone? How does that confuse scum watchers? Are ToeJam and Meeko playing a different game than we are? Color me confused.

Meeko, you have access to the same role list descriptions, mod provided or claimed, as everyone else. Go role play a few of the roles if you are vanilla town, and maybe you’ll find some empathy sync with the people playing those roles.

That’s my friendly tactic for the strategy of making the game more enjoyable for you.

I think it a review of a player’s posts would be useful but it would need to be objective - a neutral paraphrase, with comments added separately, just sharing your thoughts without support evidence isn’t really a massive help… if enough players do it, it might be a time saver

I typed something and when I read it for syntax I learned something about my mafia game self.
aha moment if you will

I had a list of players I felt were Town

those that I was unsure of ( go back an forth on)
and those that I felt were Scummy

On review I noticed they were players that had ideas/views I agreed with.

BUT that does not make them Town.
I am thinking that if a person seems to share our views we look at them more favourably- now that I see the flaw maybe I might gain ground

Not sure how to use this in game, but I have it now.FWIW
