Methane should be metagame , although methane and bullshit could be interchangeable.
I just tried it with my PM, and on preview, it looks like the heading is identical to Plum’s.

Welcome to the Game; you are a Villager

Ok well that confirms my methane reasoning is indeed methane . Couldn’t test from tapatalk .
Plum defends JSexton:
JSexton defends Plum. What’s notable is that JSexton doesn’t really defend Plum, but just says he doesn’t want to lynch him now. Hedging his bets for if/when Plum flipped scum?
Nice work,** TexCat!** I hadn’t even noticed the first or last of those! OR, JSexton’s post #859!
He must be Town, he wants everyone to post!!
Well OK then, I’m going to claim too!
Oh, wait, not that one…
This is fun!
Go to your inbox, check you pm from story and look at the quick reply box. In it there is a quote you can copy and paste. Thing Fish seems to be thinking I pushed for TexCat to avert attention from JSexton, mid-day without **JSexton **actually being under a lot of heat. He also believes I’ve been sending “sexist code words” without explaining whoever those would be for or why I would do that.
I will reply to Thing Fish’s post directly, but I do not have time at the moment. He seems pretty certain of himself and his own case, though.
I don’t want to go against the general voting direction just to be ornery. It’s just that this is truly and really the scummiest post I have ever seen in response to a “Seer”'s revelation. So I’ll have to
Vote Precambrianmollusc
Like I promised yesterDay.
It pains me to have to say that I won’t have the pleasure of a prolonged dialogue with you, as I’m going camping this weekend. I may be around a bit tonight and then probably not until Sunday evening (US). But I will certainly respond to any of your points that anyone other than you thinks deserving of a response then.
Whether I am certain of myself is between me and my therapist. I’m never certain of anything in this game (sorry again, Dante). I do really like this case, though. I hope others will express their opinions soon…I’m not happy that there have been only 25 posts in the first day of the Day, and that five players haven’t posted at all.
It’s certainly an unusual idea, but I don’t see a scum motivation. How would it have hurt Town if we had lynched someone else yesterDay and kept JSexton in our collective hip pocket? Tomorrow, we would be in exactly the same place that we actually will be, having lynched one Seer-confirmed scum and one town-suspected unknown in two days. Given how much participation in the thread has fallen off since Bayard’s claim, I certainly think that his concern about scum being able to keep quiet was reasonable.
I don’t see a scum motivation for that post, either. “Scummiest post ever” is right out.
precambrian has been pretty consistent with proposing stuff that he admits sounds borderline-nutty. He even had his methane contribution today (which I actually liked a lot when I thought it was methane intentionally). I’m not sure how it would have helped the wolves to stick his own neck out like that, whether we’d listened to him or not. The exact scenario he spelled out would be what happened. Why would it be useful for him to point out the possibility in an uncertain way, when he was in a position to know whether that’s what would happen, and that way wouldn’t even be good for his team?
At any rate, Diggit is on record. Tex and Thing Fish are on record. I think Thing Fish did make a pretty good case, but I really don’t like Diggit’s response here today, and he was high on my list already.
I’m going to make it official and vote DiggitCamara
So we will probably not have that prolonged discussion, then.
Haha, alright. I’ll try to do my best.
No stress, although I hope I can change your opinion. And as always, I hope more people will express their opinions.
It’s not so much that the idea itself might have hurt (or helped) anyone in particular. It’s that it sounded (in my ears) like an attempt by a surprised Wolf to somehow discredit the Seer’s findings and move the lynch in some other unspecified direction.
I’ve been trying to analyze posts, but it bedevils me how you do it. Hats off to you for the detailed analysis.
Lunchtime at the mill:
I have a good bit to post, but this is not a good place/time to do it all. But here’s a starting thought. I think the wolves’ initial plan was to go after our town’s unofficial but very real and very important power role: Mafia playing experience. That’s one reason, I believe, why Chronos was selected the first night, and why Mahaloth was selected the second. I also think they wanted to encourage town suspicion on experienced townies when possible. Perhaps they could even con the newbies into doing their dirty work for them.
More coming over the next two days as I am off from work then.
The one thing about this game in particular that sticks in my craw is the Alpha designation.
It is, in fact, one of the primary reasons I simply do not know what to post for substantial content at the moment other than general suspicions.
Investigating the Alpha, and potentially yielding a “Town” result skews the game too far to the wolf side, IMO.
I’ll say it again: I am Town.
I do not trust the result on Tex, due to the Alpha mechanic at work here, and with a free ride, the Alpha can do enormous damage to Town.
There was a great deal of suspicion aimed at TexCat prior to being allegedly white-listed by the Seer, and for good reason.
I am still of the belief that my name was tossed out there, by several people, just to see if any traction took based on my relatively sparse posting and general cluelessness. My accidental lynching could always be chalked up to “well, he didn’t post much anyway - so sorry”. Not much real harm, no foul. Other than another Town loss.
I will even go so far as to offer myself up as martyr, if need be, to prove my point.
So long as the next Day you lynch Tex, as almost happened not too many Days ago.
There’s also plenty of time to play the game, if you’d like to do that in addition to offering yourself up as a martyr for no reason.
You think we should lynch TexCat today, is what I’m getting. Is that right?
A few thoughts while I have a moment here…
Thing Fish makes a pretty compelling case against Plumpudding. It’s a good starting point for this week if nothing else.
I don’t agree with** DiggitCamera**'s assessment of **Precambrianmollusc’s **post from earlier. It’s not too crazy to question a possible fake claim - though of course we know it wasn’t fake. His questioning wasn’t going to be enough to divert from lynching a known wolf.
I question **sangfroid’s **post in #1137 - this seems like it might be an attempt to get the early-developing heat off of Plumpudding, and put it back on Texcat. I’m inclined to agree with the concept that she’s Town, and not the Alpha, just based on the sheer unlikely-ness of **Bayard **hitting the Alpha and standard wolf with his first 2 picks. Plus, Tex never seemed that scummy to me anyway.
I think I’ll go back and review **sangfroid’s **posts, in the vein of what Thing Fish did above - looking for interactions between himself, JSexton, and Plumpudding.
I would have thought this was the obvious reason for Chronos being killed, and perhaps Mahaloth as well. Although Mahaloth may have leaked some clues that he was a mason and he was going pretty hard on JSexton.
