Vote Sario

For reasons, see Biotop’s post 1168, plus: Lynch the Loud doesn’t work, let’s Lynch the Lurker.

What does this mean? It’s probably me, but I’m having a very difficult time understanding exactly what you have to say about TexCat.

Well, neither of them work especially well as blanket policies, since the wolves are reading this thread same as anybody else.

Just to state something that is obvious – Biotop (or any other given player) is not guaranteed to be Town, or to be right if he is Town. And even if he is Town, and is right, about any particular opinion, if you don’t have any independent commentary other than his about anything, how am I or any other Town player supposed to make any evaluation of what your motivations are?

I mean, you’ve been super straightforward about the fact that you’re following the crowd and taking other people’s leads on these things, so I’m certainly not about to accuse you of sneaking it past anyone. But I wonder if you understand the extent to which it’s equally straightforward that such a policy of following along is anti-Town. How on earth am I supposed to determine whether or not you’re a wolf under those circumstances?

Good point.

Last night I attempted to analyze Precambrianmollusc’s posts, after Biotop’s and Thing Fish’s models. This is as far as I got:
**
The Professor’s Attempted Analysis on Precambrianmullusc (or, Why I Only Post A Few Lines At A Time Explained).**

Post 32 (pre-game):

There it is. He was lynched the first day of his first game, and since then he has craved Revenge!

*Pause while Madame P. shares an “amusing” e-mail she received. *

Posts 64ff.
Jokes pre-game about lynching Chronos, and Johnny Bravo, but mostly Chronos.
Post 74
Septimus votes Precambrianmollusc in pre-game. Did he know something we don’t?

Pause while Daughter P. shares a lovely drawing she spent 2 hours on. She is a commercial artist.

Pause while I get art supplies for Madame P., who is handicapped and cannot get them for herself.

Post 82
Precambrianmollusc (hereafter P’mollusc) states he received his PM.

Post 99
P’mollusc begins his Thread of Doubt about The Plan to use the tie-breaking mechanism to find out who are the wolves, which continues in Post 102.

Post 103

Aha! Covering his tracks.

Pause while I check on dinner. Oh, look, the stove isn’t working… Lengthy delay.

Post 107

Well, Amen to that.

Post 135

Pause while trying to fix the stove.

Right, where was I?

Okay, so, P’mollusc’s been opposed to The Plan from the start, but so was Mahaloth, and he was Town. No sense digging deeper into that.

Then a long spell with few posts because he’s moving and digging through boxes. I’ve been there.

Oh, what’s that, Madame P.? A cute cat video? No thanks.

Post 411. (Didn’t participate in the self-vote for The Plan, but so what?)
Color on votes omitted to make life easier for storyteller.

That’s insightful. Does it provide us with clues? I can’t tell.

Post 423

What do these terms mean?

Post 658:

Belated vote for Plumpudding because he’s moved to a new time zone and missed the bar. Understandable.

Grandson interrupts me for help with his supper.
Madame P needs me to sort her medicine, then it’s family time

It is truly amazing to me how they know when I’m trying to do something like this. And no, working at other times doesn’t help.

Another post from Sangfroid with a lot of words, but zero content.

Perhaps it’s time for everyone to list their top 3 or 4 suspects?
My top 3 are Plum, Sangfroid, Sario.

But Prof. Pepperwinkle, (and I mean this as a friendly post from someone who still thinks you are town), you have had time to post in nearly every other thread on the Thread Games page this morning. This game does take time, and my wife is a bit pissed at me for playing too much, so I have curtailed a few other recreational activities to keep my commitment here. Just me thinking you are town is not enough to convince everyone (or really anyone) else.

The difference is that posting in other threads takes a minute or less a post. If I’m interrupted (and I am) it doesn’t matter. This one takes a sizable block of time to do it right.

Lunchtime at the mill:

I came to the breakroom hoping to read a bunch of posts. Arrgh!

[NAG]Okay, I give up asking. But if players are not going to hunt scum, can they at least vote. It might help me decide who to vote for myself. Thanks. [/NAG]

Hey, might as well be frank about it. We’re fucked and going to lose almost by default, at this rate.

There’s 4 wolves left and our vote leader has 3 votes. They’d have to be pretty bloody stupid to get caught that way.

The problem is that scum does not like to vote early. They want to wait and see. If a wolf has an overwhelming vote, they’ll pile on at the last minute to look townie. If it’s close, they can vote for town. If a townie has an overwhelming vote, they can place a one off on another wolf. Voting late gives them the best options.

**unvote Plum
vote Sangfroid **

Sangfroid has posted a few times, but never voiced an opinion of anyone, except for a few vague suspicions of me.
I might go for Sario instead, but it looks like Sario has gone AWOL.

That’s true. Why not Plum anymore, though?

Checking in. I agree that it doesn’t bode at all well that almost half our players haven’t voted with fifteen hours to go.

I don’t think I need to respond directly to any of Plumpudding’s reply to me. My vote is on him because he did a number of very pro-scum things on day one, and pretty much all he’s done is restated the reasons for these things that he gave at the time. It’s certainly possible that he’s Town and just coincidentally happened to make a lot of bad decisions in succession, but I think that would be quite a coincidence. I agree with** Jimmy Chitwood** that the interaction with** JSexton** around 845-850 seems oddly lifeless and could certainly be two scum wanting to get criticism of each other on the record.

Biotop, the only point I would make about your summary of me is that my suspicions of Cygnus were expressed before Bayard’s read on TexCat. Now that we know (hope) TexCat is town, I agree that Cygnus probably is too. It does seem that **JSexton said quite a few nice things about me…of course this is a scum tactic known as snuggling. Since JSexton **is dead, those statements now make me look suspicious, whereas if I had died first, they would have made **JSexton **look good. On that note, I’m a little worried that Nonsuch is now swearing to my towniness.

I don’t have much of a read one way or the other on precambrianmollusc, but as I said before, I don’t see that the idea he is now getting votes for was so horribly anti-town.

Well, I’'ll check back tomorrow morning. Hopefully there will be more votes then.

It’s not because Plum looks less scummy. The lack of votes is making me nervous. If Plum were scum, I’d have expected a more vigorous counterwagon.

I will be voting shortly. I just can’t see Plumpudding slyly copying post #50 or changing the text on his PM to fool us. That’s not the player we have gotten to know in this game. At least, I sure don’t think so.

Sangfroid …well you could be right. I will reread a bit and see if my opinion changes.

Pretty discouraging that Cygnus42 has posted fewer times than storyteller in this game. C’mon Cygnus42, you are town aren’t you?!

I could call out the other three players who have all posted less than Chronos, a loyal mason who friggin’ died the first Night…but I am guessing it would do no good.

So I am trying to figure out how to “lynch the lurker” and kill a wolf at the same time. So let me look at some less than active posters who I think have a good shot at also being wolf.

Hmmmm…

Sangfroid has actually posted less times than Sario, though some of Sario’s post were pre-game and should not count in his favor. DiggitCamara has not been exactly prolific. All these are good candidates. Hmmm… Johnny Bravo is not really lighting up the boards either. Hmmm…

Okay TexCat, you know what? I can buy that** JSexton**'s comment #752 against Sangfroid was an example of wolf throwing just a bit of suspicion on another wolf without really meaning it. I just searched but never found any time Sangfroid even bothered to respond back to JSexton

One reason you don’t respond to criticism is because you know* “he didn’t really mean it!”*

So while I would like to vote for Sario because he seems to have abandoned the game, I will instead back you up. Good choice.

Vote Sangfroid …

who actually has the fewest post count of any active (or deceased!) player except for Cygnus42.

A lot to lie awake and think about. I have to work early and long at the mill tomorrow and therefore will probably miss End of Day unless I can sneak into the breakroom close to noon.

Thank you, Tex.

I’ve been waiting ever so patiently for you to pick up where you left off.
You want some meat from me, eh? Most wolves do.
To those who say “no way Town could correctly tag two wolves in succession” early in the game (our only two investigations, and I agree it does seem implausible,) I say “not so fast”.

Only about as implausible as Town losing our Guardian, a Mason and our Seer, right off the bat?

Just that kind of game, I guess.

To the Town:

My issue(s) with Cat partly revolves around attacks directed at me for reasons that mostly add up to: “I don’t like how often you post.” and “You don’t say much.”

I will state firmly again, for-what-it-is-worth-and-I-know-it-ain’t-much, I am Town.

Vanilla and a little cryptic and/or dense sometimes, but Town nonetheless.
So, looks like meat’s back on the menu…
I think Cat is Alpha, I think Mollusc and quite possibly Plum are in cahoots, and I think Sario did indeed check out of the game starting around 410, and should not be lynched for no other reason than we cannot afford to waste another Day as well as lose another Townsperson just for disengagement. Can’t afford it at this stage of this game.

I’ve already offered myself up for the sake of MY Town.

I stand by that commitment, and if my lynch serves a noble purpose, perhaps there is still hope.
Is that enough content for you and your fellow wolves, Cat?

For those willing to go along with Cat, knock yourself out, and I will join the ranks of the Other Thread knowing that at least one wolf will go next.

Your move, Tex.
I’m willing to die for my allegiance.

Are you willing to die for yours?

vote TexCat

ETA:

No worries, Bio.

Keep your vote for me if you feel it will help our Town.

Just be sure to put the cross-hairs where they belong after it’s revealed I am Town.

Sangfroid:

If Plumpudding and TexCat are on the same wolf team, then they may deserve to win.

That said, after lying awake half rhe night, I have reconsidered.

Unvote Sangfroid

Vote Sario

And storyteller, could we get an official vote count again?

As I said earlier, I will be at work all day, and if I do have time to check the game I’d like a pretty good idea where we stand in case I want quickly to flip flop again. I can post a lot, but decisions do not come easy for me and this may be the most critical vote of the entire game. Thanks.
