One of the upper-tier creatures in MH3U (the version I am playing) is called a Zinogre, an electrified wolf-like monster that spews lighting and blight-inducing fireballs at you (the hunter) whilst simultaneously trying to claw you apart or triple ground-pound you with its paws.*

DUSK, DAY FOUR
*Unlike the days that had come before, it was a tightly contested race to the noose on that fourth day. In the end, two candidates were left standing: sangfroid and Sario. Quietly but passionately they argued their respective cases, and the gathered assemblage couldn’t begin to decide which way to swing.
Gradually, though, as the sun set, the tide seemed to turn. Sario proved a powerful presence, speaking strongly and confidently. At his words, more than a few in the mob began to nod sagely, convinced. sangfroid was overmatched; his death seemed inevitable. He faced it with… well, you know. Sario allowed himself a relieved smirk; it was clear that he had cheated the reaper on this day.
Which is why it came as such a surprise when they decided to hang him anyway. As they slid the noose around his neck, that neck seemed somehow to swell beneath it. He drew himself up to his full height – had he always been eight feet tall, they wondered, or was he growing? – and effortlessly tossed the mob away. It was clear that Sario would not go quietly. He bared his teeth – fangs, if the truth be known – and grinned at the rising moon. He lunged forward, yellowing eyes fixing on the nearest innocent.
He probably should have taken the noose off first.*
