DUSK, DAY FIVE
*In spite of the spate of nighttime deaths, their confidence had begun to grow; two wolves had fallen already, including the biggest, hairiest, and sweatiest of them all. Buoyed by the sharp analysis of several of the town’s leading lights, they marched Plumpudding to the gallows unafraid. A few of them gripped improvised weapons, just in case the latest Wolf decided to try anything clever.
Of course, Plumpudding protested his innocence all the way up the stairs. ‘Just like a Wolf,’ they thought.
As the noose was drawn around his neck, he urged the town to reconsider. ‘Just like a Wolf,’ they thought.
And when the trapdoor swung open and he fell through, he died without a fuss. ‘Just like a Wolf?’ they thought.
Well, you can’t win them all.*
Plumpudding, a poor, put-upon, non-lycanthropic Peasant with excellent taste in fruit-based consumables, has been lynched.

Just popping in to say Hi, and that I understand the need to chill back a bit and regroup.
So, a little light-hearted question for everyone:
For those who get the cultural reference (most likely all, I would think), which Rocky movie does this game feel most like to you?
I ask only because I was watching this thread sink during the day today, and thought - wow, all these poor folks seem as wiped out as a prize fighter slumped on the corner seat while his team valiantly exhorts him to: Get up! Keep swinging!
So, for those of you who know the maaaany Rocky movies, which one…?
I have my thoughts, and will post them later.
I’ve only seen the first one, as I’m not a real fan of sports or sports films. It’s probably a good simile, though.
Actually, Prof. Pepp, Rocky I (the first) was the one I was thinking of earlier.
I’m not so big on sports movies myself, but Rocky is iconic. In the first story, the big match-up ends in a split decision after a grueling, protracted, bloody battle in the ring. which sure seems how this little barbecue is going down so far.
(Spoilered on the off-chance that someone who might want to see it doesn’t know the ending to Rocky I…)
