It’s been awhile, but didn’t Rocky actually lose that fight (although he made a good first showing)?
Yeah, the whole point of the first Rocky is that he goes the distance even though he loses.
If anything, my hope is that the first half of this game is Rocky, but this second half (now that we have a few good lynches under our belt) is Rocky II, where he actually wins.
Cry, “Yo! Adrian!” and let lynch the wolves of war!
Yes, he lost in a 3-2 decision (the split decision; the judges weren’t unanimous in their scoring).
My feeling was more along the lines that the votes and such have been (mostly) very close so far, and we even had mod(read:judge) input in one case.
And I agree with Johnny that I hope we end up more like II!
OK, better stop, don’t want to tread too far from fluffy town…
sorry… 2-1 decision, IIRC…
Come on daybreak. I just want one more chance…
VLADIMIR:
All the same . . . that tree . . . (turning towards auditorium) that bog . . .
ESTRAGON:
You’re sure it was this evening?
VLADIMIR:
What?
ESTRAGON:
That we were to wait.
VLADIMIR:
He said Saturday. (Pause.) I think.
ESTRAGON:
You think.
VLADIMIR:
I must have made a note of it. (He fumbles in his pockets, bursting with miscellaneous rubbish.)
ESTRAGON:
(very insidious). But what Saturday? And is it Saturday? Is it not rather Sunday? (Pause.) Or Monday? (Pause.) Or Friday?
VLADIMIR:
(looking wildly about him, as though the date was inscribed in the landscape). It’s not possible!
ESTRAGON:
Or Thursday?
VLADIMIR:
What’ll we do?
ESTRAGON:
If he came yesterday and we weren’t here you may be sure he won’t come again today.
VLADIMIR:
But you say we were here yesterday.
ESTRAGON:
I may be mistaken. (Pause.) Let’s stop talking for a minute, do you mind?
DAWN, DAY SIX
*They enter the clearing at the same time, as much by accident as anything else. From one corner of the darkened forest, a killing machine, born and bred, emerges; it stands 6’5" in the deepening moonlight and stares impassively. From the other corner, Thing Fish, outmatched and outgunned but unafraid.
‘You will lose,’ the Wolf snarls. ‘I must break you.’
They come together with a cry, and the Wolf is taken off guard by its adversary’s fury and strength. Fists land with startling speed. It is clear that both are fighting for their lives.
It all comes apart for Thing Fish in seconds. With a mighty roundhouse swipe, the Wolf sends Fish sprawling, instantly unconscious, to the damp ground. Coldly the Wolf turns, and walks past its fellows. ‘Where are you going?’, they insist, but the Wolf is unmoved.
‘I can not be defeated,’ it says. ‘I beat all man. Someday, I will beat a real champion. If he dies, he dies.’
He does.*
Thing Fish, a Peasant, has been Night killed.
Day Six begins here, and will end at noon Eastern time on Monday, August 31.
Sorry I ever doubted you Thing Fish.
Now let’s lynch some wolves.
???
Good question. I was ready to post suspicion again of Thing Fish. So why was he killed?
either because TF was onto something and the wolves wanted TF dead
or because the wolves wanted us to think TF was onto something
or because TF was thought by most of us to be town and leading town, so they killed off an experienced player
or because the wolves just wanted to screw with us.
Anyway
as PPud is out of my pool of remaining scum, on account of being dead, that leaves Nonsuch, Johhny B and Diggit C. I still can’t get head around sangfroid being scum, it is possible , but unlikely in my opinion due to the complexity of how things would have had to play out
and as I have for the last few days
vote Diggit Camera
because that seams like a good way to start the day off
I had a thought about the “two voters” from day before yesterDay.
One reason Sario may not have wanted to vote for one of the other candidates might have been because he didn’t want to join up (and thus be linked later) with other wolves who were already voting for that candidate. That would explain why he voted for Sangfroid. The two others voting for Sangfroid were **Plum **and Texcat, now both proven town.
But he could have voted for PlumPudding and had a better reason than “getting a vote on the record.” Plum also had two voting for him: Thing Fish and Johnny Bravo.
**Thing Fish **is now known to be town. But what about Johnny Bravo? Why would Sario not choose Plumpudding if Johnny Bravo is town?
Johnny Bravo appears in almost every scenario that Thing Fish put together yesterDay where he tries to figure out who all the wolves are.
Like yesterDay, I expected to be dead today. Because I am not and now have a chance to correct my many errors, I ain’t going to pussyfoot around.
Vote Johnny Bravo.
Huh. Didn’t see that coming. I would have thought it more likely that the wolves would have given me a medal. Well, 'tis a better place I go, to be reunited with my departed comrades (the forbidden thread). I owe Plumpudding a round of slivovitz. And as always, GO TOWN!!
So, another unexpected NK by the wolves…
Couple early thoughts:
-
The wolves chose to leave Biotop alone for 2 weeks now. Is it because he’s wrong somewhere in his analyses, and is leading town astray? Or, is he really a wolf, playing a master-level game here, leading us around by the nose? The latter seems unlikely, but we do have to consider all options.
-
At first, you’d think there’s no reason to NK Thing Fish. He’s been after Plumpudding for seemingly forever now, and that turned out wrong. What else did he have where he coulda been ‘on to something’? He did have two suspects (aside from Plum) in his final messages - precambrianmollusc and Johnny Bravo. Are those now prime suspects?
It’s all so confusing…
Yeah, IIRC, Thing Fish expressed doubts about Biotop’s Town-ness, so killing him instead of Biotop points a finger of suspicion at him. But there are too many things FOR Biotop for this to fly. And Fish and Plum were two of the top posters, along with Biotop, so things will be a lot quieter toDay unless we step up. I’m thinking of going back to the only strategy that’s worked so far: “Lynch the lurker”.
The way that day ended was suspicious as hell. Things were looking tense, then **Biotop **unvoted with no reason other than “got to think,” then he switched to Plumpudding and that led a string of votes that ended in a mislynch.
Does that make Biotop scum? He’s been pretty helpful all game long. But if DiggitCamara is a wolf after all that, then it sure as hell looks differently. I’ll stick to my guns here and see how it turns out.
Vote DiggitCamara
Well, seems like just for once your ideas coincide with mine. Johnny Bravo is currently my top contender for scumminess, and I’ll gladly
Vote Johnny Bravo.
He’s one of the stronger players who hasn’t actually helped town out, so I’ll look at yesterDay’s events to see if anything else about his behavior stands out.
Farewell, Thing Fish.
If Biotop turns out to be scum, I wouldn’t be so much surprised as awestruck. (And more than a little sheepish I suppose.)
Right now weighing Precambrianmollusc and DiggitCamara for ToDay’s vote. More later.
