Hey, just wanted to drop in and let you all know I am going to be quiet for a couple of days. I am going to be a little swamped at work until I get a handle on my new client. Shouldn’t take too long though, I will make sure I have a least 1 good substantive post by Wed. afternoon.
Meanwhile I am following along and taking notes, I just don’t have a lot of time to write up big posts.
Right now, because I do like voting early and often, I’m going to throw out a vote fluiddruid. That gigantic, bizarre “Guide By Kyrie” post from yesterday is just icing on the I already laid out my case for her cake.
Well, the way I read it then (and still read it now) is that you were doing your damned best to refrain from voting for either of us (Klutz and me) while offering a “reason” why both of us weren’t good targets. You even mention
without considering the possibility of possible ulterior motives, either by me or by Captain Klutz. And that, to me, is, to use your (paraphrased) own words against you weak reasoning coupled with ulterior motive to create a false image of towniness.
I have a vacation coming up, starting Friday. I will be out of internet contact for two weeks. I originally thought I’d have a good chance of being dead by then, but that didn’t happen. Sorry.
Options:
- Sub-me. I know that sucks and I’ve been really angry about the number of subs too; but I’m okay with it of the rest of the players are.
- Mod-kill me. I don’t think you want to do that; but I’m okay with it of the rest of the players are.
- Day Six dunk me. I don’t think you want to do that either.
- Two Day nap. I can be a non-participant for Day 7 and Day 8, returning for Day 9 if I’m still alive. I’m not sure how everyone else feels about this.
- Other suggestions?

I think this game is in danger of being broken by the number of quitters.

He’s not quitting. He’s taking the Weekend off. Get over it.
How about a combination of two and four? Get a two-week sub, and return to the game when you come back from vacation?
That won’t work. I vote for a break, check in if possible. If not, we’re still probably going to be playing for another Week.
He is taking 2 weeks off, that is vastly different then a weekend. Plus he is like the 6th person. This game is based on learning how people react to different situations and ideas presented to them. Having people sub in for others basically ruins this game. In short, screw you.
How about not bitching about me being gone for 4 days when you’re going to be gone for 14.
Oh, and since I didn’t say this my vote is for a modkill.
Seriously this is getting ridiculous. A commitment was made and should be followed through. If you didn’t know what you were getting into you could have asked. We would have told you.
A Weekend. It sucks, but what can be done? These games take longer than people expect it to. You don’t have to whine about how your gaming experience sucks because people have lives and underestimated their commitment. Why don’t you come up with a constructive solution, instead of hurling insults?

I note my suspicion that Hockey Monkey was acting as though she knows the alignments of Kat and Malacandra in post 1546.
Hockey Monkey replies in 1548,
“Oh for God’s sake! I don’t know shit!,” which now that I look at it, doesn’t really imply that she had been accused of ‘knowing too much’ before. I’m not sure why I had that impression.
Yeah, I’m going to have to agree with Queuing on this one. Two weeks is too long to just not play, and the number of subs in the game have made it very difficult to keep track of who is who. I’d prefer a mod-kill at this point.
Hopefully in the future people will realize that this game takes a month or two to play and it’s not fair to everyone else if you quit. Obviously we can’t do anything about unexpected things but signing up before a planned vacation isn’t cool.

What the hell is your problem?
Oh boy… I do think the last sub was really pushing how late a sub can be made, especially with as many subs as there can be. However, one of the large issues with absence has been that someone get’s a few days without reads. IMO, sachertorte has been one of the most prolific posters, so I can’t imagine you all don’t have SOME sort of read on him and I don’t think an absence for a little while from him would break the game.
That said, please do NOT post your opinions on this matter in the game because it lends itself to heavy meta-gaming. Those who have not already commented, if you have a strong feeling one way or another, please send me a PM, and I’ll mull over it and see if I can’t come up with a fair solution.
Come on, guys. Shit happens. Let’s do our best to not hand out personal attacks.
