You too.
How the hell is 2 weeks a weekend? He starts next friday, won’t be back for two weeks. By his own admission its 2 Days. You don’t have to tell me how to act either like you did, so my “screw you” stands. Yeah I get it that people have lives. So do I. Still I made a commitment to this game. Sure I could have quit when I had to go to Vancouver and set up a brand new office. Sure I could have quit when I put new floors into my house. I didn’t though. I said I would play this game and I will. Sure none of you know me and my quitting would make no damn difference in the grand scheme of things but when I say I will do something I do it. This is ruining the damn game, so say what you want, call it whining, I don’t give a damn. You quoted me about it, so screw you.
I did give something constructive. Kill him.
I’ve been trying to orchestrate my murder for weeks now; ever since the Crusader died, I realized that the death count was going to severely lower by the time my vacation rolled around.
Also, I am only responsible for my own vacation. Don’t take your anger on all the other subs out on me.
Finally, I’ve been playing this game quite faithfully. I think my participation level as been above average and quite frankly, even if I posted nothing for two weeks, there would be several players with fewer posts than me in the game. Be mad at people for lack of participation, not a vacation.
2 Days is a Weekend.
Want some cheese?
I will not address this subject again.
Clever :dubious:
Please stop with the name calling. Remember, the SDMB rules for MPSIMS still apply in here as well, and I don’t want to see anyone get warnings over a game–an inherently emotional one, but still just a game.
That said, since his vacation does not start until Friday, which will be the beginning of the next Night, I will mull this over, along with the opinions. Chances are, if I do decide to mod-kill him, the death would occur as part of the Day Seven Dawn post.
Y’know, guys - and I am only saying that because I care - there’s a lot of decaffeinated brands on the market that are just as tasty as the real thing.
Well, in that case…
Vote sachertorte. He posts a lot but I still don’t get a read from him one way or another. Sometimes he seems like a huge n00b, sometimes he seems really town, sometimes he seems scummy. The fact that I think an absence of two or three Days (let’s not forget that a Day is now four days, and nights don’t always last the full two days) is pretty bad for the Town combined with my current lack of suspicion of anyone else leads me to this vote.

Inquiry about how a converted player will show up upon his death.
You will learn both the player’s original role and that he was converted. For instance, if a Citizen was converted, after my color text, you would see something equivalent to “Player X, a Converted Citizen, was burned at the stake.”
Some of my thoughts:
First of all sach, I don’t care if you’re scum or town, you’re doing TOWN a lot of harm right now with subtle things you’re saying. I know you may not mean this but come on, “trying to get killed”? Saying you’d be fine with a mod-kill? Even hinting at things you may not be doesn’t do much good.
Secondly, if the final call IS modkill, I don’t think a role reveal is just. I remember in MIII when I asked for a modkill (after I saw that one post I wasn’t supposed to) Mal said both to me in PM and, as far as I remember, in the game, that mod kills would not be shown what their team or role was. This makes it equal so that town doesn’t know if it was scum and, on the other hand, scum won’t know if it was a powerful role or not or if they need to keep looking/worrying about it. So really, it stays equal and evens out.
So my personal opinion is that, in the case of a modkill, the teams and any roles should be kept private.
Anyway, the subs are getting out of hand, I agree. I could maybe understand one more but like BM said, even the last one was pushing it.
Hell, the last one was a sub FOR a sub!
You know it’s getting silly then.
I’m OK with the two-Day nap, personally – I think sachertorte has participated more than enough for people to get a feel for his playing style and make their own judgments about whether he’s likely to be scum, and that’s the real purpose of the “no lurking” rule, right?
I, too, will have fairly intermittent Net access for the rest of the week because I’m about to move out of state. I think I should be able to check in a few times before the end of the Day and I expect to get a regular connection set up in the new place before the next Day begins, so I hope this won’t be a problem.
Oops, apologies – I missed the post where Blaster Master asked us not to post our views on the subject in this thread. Please ignore the first paragraph of my last post.
Yeah, me too (missed the memo).
Let me chime in though with my first “will/might be away” case.
I’m away very rarely. Most the time I’m on the net 10 straight hours. But coming up soon I have a trip to Chicago and during that time I don’t know how much computer access I’ll have. I took a similiar trip in M3. That one was four days. This one will be a week.
However, in my case, I WILL probably have some internet access and should be on for a bit each day. There might be some days I don’t post at all, but rest assured, I will be on at LEAST every other day for a few hours.
Not editted to add: And I’m leaving on the 7th of August so still about a week away. Maybe I’ll be murdered/killed or (God forbid) lynched by then.
Wow, so I take it conversation’s dead until the Sach matter is resolved?
I didn’t really get that impression, although I did feel that I had killed the topic.
There’s a simple explanation: I’m an idiot. You’re right - zuma/MonkeyMensch is another sub pair worth looking at - I’ve not got much of an impression from zuma’s posts right now.
While I’m here, I’m going to FOS Diggit because: a) too focused on the Crusader and b) his early vote for Kyrie is not only unconvincing to me but also looks like an attempt to covertly claim town status. (If we believe the “perfect information” theory, we have to believe Diggit is town - no reason to do that, as far as I can see.)
MM’s substantive posts: this won’t take long.
639: It’s a good idea for the Priest to self-protect.
664 : Votes for sach, FOS’s mtgman, both for involved strategy discussions.
666: Agrees with Hockey and Idle Thoughts that not dunking is a bad idea.
755 : Sach has defended himself, pointing out that he admitted he’d been overdoing the O/A discussion. MM sees this very admission as grounds for suspicion.
864 : Coming up to end of Day 1 - happy with vote and FOS, but admits they’re not based on very much, it being Day 1.
1190: FOS’s original Diggit and Zeriel based on votes for Mtgman.
The remainder of posts are either pre-game, night/fluff posts, or statements that he’s reading but too busy to do a proper post just now.
Hardly anything to say to that: his votes and FOS’s were all wrong, but that’s as likely to be chance as deliberate.
zumav2 is next - but lunch is over, so I’ll sign out for now.
Why would you kill me if there are no better targets? I may not believe in Nairu, but I’m not aligned with the Cultists. It doesn’t make sense to me that you would kill me off. I’m town, and the town’s strength is in numbers. It doesn’t compute that you would want to take me out if no better targets come up. As far as I’m concerned, believers and non-believers are the same…town. I would think that there is only one other non-believer besides me left, so a win condition for us alone is unlikely.
I’m not calling suspicion on you, because I believe your Monk claim right now, but I do want to kick this game in the butt and get it going again.
**Cookies ** has been pinging my scumdar little by little, so I’m going to see if I can come up with a theory there.
zumav2
(There are a couple of times where zuma insta-corrects format errors, e.g. in voting. I’m counting those with the original post)
1785 : Digs through the Oracle’s posts, looking for breadcrumbs. Concludes that Mal may have been investigated and cleared on Night 2.
1835 : Argues with Mal about investigator roles verifying claims - says they should concentrate on finding scum. Counter claims are fine, because they guarantee a scum dunk.
1838 : Takes Mad to task over his claim that the Oracle may have investigated and cleared him. Points out that the Oracle voted for Mad on his last day alive.
1958 : Lays out thinking on Mad’s scheme. Doesn’t think it makes much sense - will vote tomorrow (doesn’t vote now to avoid starting countdown)
2044 : Votes Mad.
2162 : Agrees with Fretful that SCL was probably killed because she gave of Apprentice vibes. Captain Klutz, Nava and MHaye are the three she mentioned as either finding scummy or intending to “investigate” - hence suspicion falls on them. zuma then adds that he thinks this case is weak - for reasons I don’t really follow.
2166 : A review of Malacandra’s posts.
2168 : Analysis of Mal. Gives an FOS, because a) voted early for Mad with a “me too” post and b) general pattern of “bad logic” or “bad advice” - esp the suggestion that Apprentice investigate Hockey Monkey. Needs to check Oracle’s posts (see above) to think about whether **Mal **was investigated on Night 2.
2218 : Votes Mal. Doesn’t accept Mal’s explanation of the “Play up, Apprentice” quote.
2351 : Mal has now voted for Pleonast. zuma finds voting for a possible town power role v. scummy - won’t change vote.
2354 : Corrects Diggit re. Mal’s vote for Pleonast.
The big story here is zuma’s attack on Mal. Having initially thought that **Mal **was cleared, he changes his mind and spends the last 5 of his 11 substantive posts attacking him. I can’t get a read on whether this is honest town following a gut instinct or scum trying to look helpful.
I do disagree with some of his arguments - I think Mal’s vote for Pleonast, for example, came at a time when there was no risk it would lead to an actual dunking. Consequently, Mal’s stated motive of registering disbelief strikes me as at least equally likely as a very crude scum attempt to drown a claimed power-role.
