Not 12 hours after getting warned for posting useless and annoying threads (see: Open this thread if you want to see me whip it out), you start up I like blue.. [Upon preview I see that the “Blue” thread was posted 2 hours before you were warned. Sorry.]
Could you at least wait 5 minutes before you hit “submit” on your threads and really think if it’s a subject that is useful, or even in the correct forum? Could you spend that time seeing if you’ve actually spelled everything in the subject line correct?
Nah. The forum’s owned by the Chicago Reader, and they’re free to lock whatever they want, which they’ve done on occasion while dealing with things such as illegal activities.

Yes Major Kong does seem just the tiniest bit self-absorbed doesn’t he? He doesn’t like his TV shows interrupted by missing children stories, his wanting nature to shut the fuck up so he can sleep and his total fascination with his own crap. I didn’t think intense self-interest was cause for banning though.
Bandanaman reminds me of a different type jackass that was banned, however. Not for misunderstanding the Constitution but for jumping into threads and making stupid, nasty and totally uncalled for remarks. Ayeup, I remember it well. . …
I’m not a mod. Therefore, I don’t have to read every thread in a forum. And if I see signs that a thread isn’t going to be interesting (and a very good sign of that is Major Kong appearing as the OP), I give it a miss. (Unless I’m in a really foul mood, and feel like mocking the poor sad git, that is.) Works for me.
Steve Wright, I agree. But the sheer mass of his excrement on display is overwhelming. It’s everywhere you look - and is at the expense of other threads I may want to take a peek at. And while I’m fully capable of clicking on “next page”, there’s bound to be another pile dung to wade through there as well.
SimonX, another good point. But how many threads posted to General Questions (that have been posted before 3 or 4 times in the past) are necessary to gain immunity from some serious reprimands?
I’m not asking for Major Kong to be banned. I’m just asking that he shut his fucking word-hole for periods longer than it takes him to flush.
I run a bulletin board, as some of you may or may not know. One “I’m off to take a dump” post … maybe, in an appropriate off-topic area. Two … well, that’s post-padding, and just immature. If every one of the SBMB’s eighteen gazillion members started a trivial thread … well, it wouldn’t be a good thing.
Just relax. In six more weeks the kids will be back in school and we will have a respite until the Christmas / Winter Solstice break. In the meantime, remember that freedom of speech does not mean freedom from being held responsible. Go get ‘em.
