Hello! basically, my sad story is the same as most of the college students on here - tons of loans, enough to feed myself and be healthy, but not enough to spend on “luxury” items, like SDMB - i haven’t been around very long, but before I signed up, I lurked for a long time. I’d like to continue posting, but my guest membership is up on Apr. 21, so I dont’ have that much time left. Anybody who helps me out can look forward to a nice, expensive dinner when I finally graduate and get a job!! Also, you will have an eternally grateful student on your hands, ensuring your passage into heaven (j/k - I consider myself agnostic, actually).

Just to let people know that things are now looking up work wise (I am starting to plan to buy things again… oh joy!) Well may still be a couple of months, but things are really positive all the same.
That means hopefully by this time next year I can sponser a couple of people for SDMB as a part of my pay it forward pledge.
I just want to keep the pledge out in the open for people to know (I tend to be terrible with dates so a swift kick in the butt as a reminder come March 2005 wouldn’t go astray either).

Because I don’t want to unnecessarily barrage folks via e-mail and am uncertain whose offers have been “used up” in these acts of charity…consider this moi’s official plea for help. Rrm…Anyways…I am no beggar, but I do live -well- below the poverty line. Making things more difficult is that I’m trying to get through school–which eats up just about all the money I have, and some that I don’t have. I like the SDMB, and would like to pay for a membership, but it’s difficult to reconcile five bucks for board membership when I know I could put it to use to eat for a few more days.

You’d probably be better off trying to email someone who has posted already. I know I sort of waited for someone to contact me after I posted that I’d be willing to sponsor, but it never happened- I ended up having to email someone directly. Dopers are loathe to ask directly for help or something, I guess. If you can’t find a sponsor, shoot me an email and I’ll get it. It’s in the profile, just make sure you identify the email as SDMB or something.
AHunter3: You need the other person’s password. You just sign in as them and register like you did for yourself.
Thea Logica, Idle Thoughts, Evil Death, Emekthian, Banquet Bear, and Ashtar are all showing up as Guests despite posting to this thread. I’m not sure who among them have registered and aren’t showing up as such, and who has asked for help and not received it. Either way, we’ve had enough offers of help that I should think everyone could have been taken care of easily. If the people I listed above could give some kind of update, maybe we could clear this all up- who still needs the sponsorship? Looking back through the thread it seems like there have been a bunch of offers that weren’t taken, so there’s no need for anyone to go without.
