I seem to remember seeing somewhere on the SDMB that Homer’s monkey butler had an origin somewhere else, but I can’t find that thread. Either way, Sunday night when Craig said,“My monkey butler’s trying to kill me,” all I could think was that the Malcolm in the Middle writers read these boards.
Someone help save my sanity (what little there is) by either telling me where monkey butlers came from or by admitting that he or she is a writer for Fox.
Either that, or they know how to Google.

No one will admit to writing for Fox. It’s probably worse than working for the IRS.
This plot seemed somewhat familiar.
Technically, it was a helper monkey, which is what Craig called it. Helper monkeys do exist, and Homer (Simpson, not the poster) had one. Monkey butlers only exist in the imagination of Homer (the poster) and Bart Simpson.

SNL also had a fake commercial for Monkey Butlers in 1994.
Technically, Bathroom Monkeys. Bathroom Monkeys are different from Monkey Butlers, i.e., they only work in the bathroom.
I would Just like to brag like an idiot that I talk to David Anthony Higgins’ wife all the time on the net! He plays Craig Feldspar on Malcolm. She even sent me a movie he a Dave Foley was in called “The Wrong Guy”. She knows my Fav. comedian Mary Lynn Rajskub. Plus a bunch of celebs you HAVE heard of!
