Oh my. I am so flattered I don’t know what to say. I am glad that my ability to figure out what other people ought to be doing with thier lives has been noted, and I hope that any day now I might become qualified to know what to do with my own life . . . that seems to be the tricky one. Thanks all for your kind words.

But while I’m here, I’ll go ahead and say that Mandy Jo is pretty cool.
Sure, it is an easy mistake to make. I fell for her act at first, too. She is a master at deception. Look at her posts, she never breaks character. Every sentence just oozes clarity, perspective, and rational understanding. Every one – do you think that’s an accident?
Oh, she suckers you in. She convinces you that she is the soul of reason, an unerring lodestone for honest examination. You come to expect it. You come to rely on it. You start just assuming that seeing Manda Jo to teh left of a post guatantees a standard of quality mere mortals can only envy. And she keeps making good on that guarantee. Sneaky bitch.
Then, one day, she drives teh dagger home. You have become accustomed to feeling inadequate in Great Debates. You are resigned to the fact that you will never be able to express or embody the empathic understanding she shows in MPSIMS. You realize that not having every GQ fact at your fingertips is no shame for a simple human. That’s all right. Nobody is perfect (not even Manda Jo! It’s an act, I tell you, a twisted and conniving plot!)
Then, one day, you’re blissfully slavering about like a rabid dog in teh PIT and Mand Jo walks in and expresses herself calmy, rationally, and beautifully. In three amiable sentences she accomplishes more than you have managed in 12 paragraphs of drooling vitriol. And she does it without profanity, without direct insult, without even a hint of spite. Hey–I can take coming off like a pontificating fool in GD. I can take seeming to be an insensitive buffoon in MPSIMS. Everybody knows I have no useful facts in my brain, so GQ inadequacy is a given. But to do that to a poor guy in the PIT!
That’s just mean.
Interesting to see this thread. I don’t think Manda and I have participated in too many of the same threads, but it has struck me in the past that her posts have a consistent tendency to be on target, well written and to the point.
So I guess that means I hate her too. 
Add me to her anti-fan club! I said as much in the “posters you admire” thread, too, but it’s much more fun to say in in the pit.
