First of all, you knucklehead, …it belongs in great debates NOT the pit. Use your head, man!
The part you quoted was only a very small section of the thread, intended to express opinion toward a debatable subject.
Before you go ‘moderating’ threads like you own the place, read the whole thread - you just might learn something.
The pit, …I mean, …get real!
The basic idea there is that when you present a Great Debate, you at least start off with a fairly even, civil tone. If your OP comes across as mostly rant-like, even if there is likely to be a fair amount of discussion about it, it should be in the pit. Particularly if you freely employ the use of invective, which is frowned upon in the gentler fora.

I guess I just feel that the original thread in question should have been moved to GD, not the Pit. I felt like he just grabbed a small section of the thread, said it was a rant, and moved it. I feel like he missed the whole jist of the thread.

I for one was SHOCKED at Manhattan’s restrained closing message. It seemed both wrong, and out of character, for him not to have cursed you out for being such an asswipe in GQ.

No, it’s not fucking us off.
It means flipping, or sticking up your middle finger at someone. Like saying 'screw you!.
Maybe you’ve heard it called ‘giving someone the bird’.
In any event, I get the impression that there are quite a few members who ‘hang out’ in this area (the pit) of the boards looking to belittle people and ‘pick fights’.
