I second this. We 'd like to keep you around here.
Would you pass me a napkin when you have a moment? I’ve got cyber-spittle on my face.
I suggest we take him at his word. It seems like his head is about to fucking explode.
I didn’t know, I posted about the Missile attack on BBQ, I didn’t know I apologise. But to think I did this for some opportunism, is really
A decent woman is dead. Her last days on Earth were filled with terror and she died in a most horrible fashion. I can’t believe what this thread quickly degraded to. For her sake, might we be able to keep her the subject and mourn her passing?
I E-mailed Lynn and requested that she remove the [quote= tags in my post if I have violated the rules despite my notation. I guess I should have known better, so I apologize in advance for when I get reamed by a mod for being a bad boy.
Sorry for breaking the rules.

my sentiments exactly. Too bad it took me to caps, to actually get it through.
Amen, brother. I was reacting to the news too, not the poster.
And I say to wipe out militant insurgents of that type, not all Iraqia/Muslims/etc.
I’m shrugging off the death of a child? Um, no. I’m saying in war it happens, and is part of war. To say I don’t care about a child’s death under any circumstances (including Soddom) is to call me pure evil.
Remember how I said war is hell? It’s just as true today as it was when first said
I don’t glory in spilled blood. I don’t cheer death of those that are caught up in situations that are out of thier control. I don’t revel in a body count rising every day.
What I do hope for is the men and women to get the job done that they’re there for and to make it home safely. They have signed their lives to our country, and I respect each and every one. Hate the administration if you want, but give these kids a break.
They’re waking up today knowing there are a shitload of people that want to kill them. Hope you enjoy your coffee.

Hey look on the bright side, you can quote his follow up post, its pretty much the same as what you said.

You’ll note that I refer to the Americans as Amercians and the homicidal maniacs who killed Mrs. Hassan as homicidal maniacs.
If referring to her muderers as homicidal maniacs isn’t condeming terroists, then I shall use the
smiley for the second time this thread.
And since you posted in the pit, didn’t inform us that comments about the bigger picture about Iraqi political situation or about the way you have presented it in other threads would be unwelcome, then apologies for not being telepathic.
Howyadoin,
Hey Ryan, look on the bright side… At least they didn’t start the fucking NFP chant, or whatever the hell it is. You’ve had the big crimson “B” hung on ya. That’s going to take a while to lose, if ever.
What was written under your byline was irrelevant. Once people saw who the OP was, it was off to the races. People saw the chance to take another swing, whether your OP warranted it or not. Your later protestations that you have changed your views have fallen on deaf ears, mostly because the cause of people’s anger is too recent. You’ve got some reputation reclamation to do, and that’s a slow process.
It’s a given that someone would have posted this thread if you hadn’t. It would have perhaps been more advantageous to have let someone else do so, and post something appropriate in that thread.
Forgive me if I’m being preachy, but just telling it like it is…

Apologies accepted, but you’re still a wanker.
Unfortunately, good people die… sometimes way too soon. I won’t blame this on the war, the blame goes on the person/people who killed her.
Hey is there some way we can make this the default?
I would hope it’s fucking OBVIOUS that we support the troops in whatever screwy situation they’re thrown in. It’s the people that sent them there that we’re pissed at.
To be honest I find it insulting to even have to make that clarification. All people should assume this otherless otherwise stated.
That’s almost laughably stupid, man. You honestly think that if securing oil reserves were our main goal we’d go after the Saudis? Puhleeze.
I guess you didn’t get the memo. We’re in Iraq because Halliburton wanted the oil. The same reason we launched Operation Desert Storm. Do you not read the Pit threads? :dubious:
And this, coming from someone who couldn’t even spell her name correctly?
Jeeziz, not another worthless train wreck on the goddam beheading issue. You know, Ryan_Liam, if you are having trouble understanding why people may be pissed off over you approach to this subject, try reading Roseworm’s recent and equally stupid thread on pretty much the same subject.
I agree the the spate of kidnappings and beheadings in Iraq is horrible, and in general the victims are completely innocent parties selected for no other reason than that they were defenseless and easy to capture, but since fucking when did this backwater Internet message board become the official public outlet for mourning these people?
Excuse me, but neither the families of the victims, nor the perpetrators, are likely to have ever even heard of this board, so just what is the purpose of all this kvetching anyway? What’s so fucking special about Iraq that every atrocity there, over and above any other atrocity that may occur anywhere else, must be memorialized on this particular internet message board, lest the board membership as a group be accused of being heartless bastards?
You know, if I don’t join in the general wailing and knashing of teeth, it’s not because I don’t give a damn: it’s because I don’t really see the need to unload a steaming pile of sanctimonious horsehit on a bunch of strangers, and more importantly, because anything I might say on thsi issue will do nothing to bring back the dead, nor make any fucking difference as to how events will continue to unroll in Iraq. You’re shocked and appalled by this event, you say? What, you think war is some sort of fucking garden party? Well, guess again.
Take a chill pill, dude. I’m positive gobear meant to be critical of the execution.
