Marine Corps Ball - Celebrity Dates

There hasn’t been much press since this summer about the up coming celebrity dates.

Mila Kunis agreed to attend the Marine Corps Ball with Sgt. Scott Moore. Justin Timberlake is taking Cpl. Kelsey De Santis.

Cpl. Kelsey De Santis date is tonght, Sat Nov 12. She’s challenging Justin to a dance off tonight. Sounds like those two are having a blast.

I haven’t found any recent articles from Sgt. Scott Moore. Except this one that confirms he’s still going with Mila. His date is next Friday, Nov 18.

We’ll probably see more news in the next day or so. I’m kind of glad they are keeping this low key. Let the soldiers enjoy their dates without a lot of cameras in their faces.

Forgot that Lance Cpl. Jonathan Burkett is taking Kristin Cavallari. She was on Dancing with the Stars this season and should be ready to Waltz.

Their date is next Thursday, Nov. 17.

Sgt. Ray Lewis is taking The Terminator star Linda Hamilton. That was on Oct. 29. Here’s a blog about their date.

Well, Justin did take the lady Marine to the ball  That’s one way to support the troops.

Cpl. Kelsey De Santis is kind of cute when she’s dressed up. She’s a mixed martial arts fighter and a marine.

I watched her Operation Octagon fight from about 15 feet away a couple of weeks ago; she kicked her opponent’s ass. She had a table full of Wounded Warriors at the event as her guests, and there were choruses of “Ooh rah” throughout the sports centre as she walked up to the octagon (to, appropriately enough, “Bringing Sexy Back”… ). I’m glad JT followed through; it would’ve been a darn shame if she had to hunt him down or something.

Justin had some really nice things to say about his night with the marines.

The marine corps ceremony they do during the ball is very moving. I get a lump in my throat just seeing it on video.

Justin’s full blog. It’s quite a read. My feelings & respect for Justin went way up after reading this. He’s a lot more than a pop star.

I’m a over-weight middle-aged lady. I have no business having a crush on or even a soft spot for Justin Timberlake! This isn’t helping.

My minor man-crush on Mr, Timberlake is reinforced once again. He can sing, he can dance, he can act… he’s nailed some of the hottest girls working today… he’s funny as hell on SNL…

And now this. Dang it.

Way to go guys, you crashed Justin’s blog!

Justin’s site is back, but still slow. Justin had linked the blog in twitter. Must have generated a lot of hits.

This news article reprinted the full blog. It’s at the end.

Big date tonight for Mila Kunis and Sgt. Scott Moore. The guy that started all this last summer.

Haven’t found one interview with Scott Moore since last summer. He must be uncomfortable with any press? Or more likely his superiors told him to STFU about this. The wording in this article sounds like they don’t want any distractions.

Anyway, it’s on for tonight. Lucky dog. Mila was just named GQ’s “Knock out of the Year”.

Make that tomorrow night.

Got my days mixed up. I wish it was already Friday.

Aw, honey. You and Timberlake come over here and sit next to me and Justin Bieber.

Seriously though, I’d read the short version of JTs response a couple days ago and I was really impressed.

Lance Cpl. Jonathan Burkett took Reality Star Kristin Cavallari to the Marine Corps Ball Thursday.

Kristin’s Blog. She’s so pretty in her gown.

Mila and Scott’s is the last one. Hopefully Mila or Scott will blog in the next couple days.

Four very lucky celebrities got an experience of a lifetime with the Marines. I’m glad this worked out for everyone. Celebrities often visit war zones or troop hospitals. It’s great that they got to experience a happier time in a soldiers life.

Few more pics of Mila & Scott at he ball.

I’m thinking it will be a long time before another female marine asks a male civilian to be her date to the birthday ball. In an organization as fundamentally cohesive and masculine as the Marine Corps, it just has to create awkwardness. Who knows how much contempt JT engendered among Cpl. DeSantis’ fellow servicemen - even if they were tactful enough not to show it?

A female Marine should ask Harvey Keitel (who is a Marine) to the next ball. That would be even better than Justin Timberlake, actually.
