Marriage, Mexican Style - A Destination Wedding MMP

I have fricking hives on the** bottom of my feet**! (And everywhere else, too.) This is so not fun. :(

Happy Birthday MBG!!

(that’s impressive Mindfield!)

Happy Birthdya MBG**!!!

Waiting for the sleet.

{{{{{Pie}}}}

I couldn’t spot a picture to be sure but I do recall the story. Chances are we know each other as “line partners” ----- waiting for ERT to start or waiting for the buffet at a convention to start.

(The alternative definition of “ACE” is well known to be “American Catering Enthusiasts”)

Hubby is still on my sh*tlist.

Happy Birthday MBG!!!

Awake. Why?

Middlebro gets those from anything with red pepper (including chorizo, I’ll give you one chance to guess one of his favorite foods) as well as from chocolate (but not from nutella, or maybe he’s never had enough nutella to trigger it). Before we figured it out, the poor kid spent many days trying to escape his own skin. I’d send you hugs only, in his case at least, contact with anything up to and including air was painful :frowning:

<ahem> clearing throat <ahem>

Yikes CutiePie! Hope that rash clears up soon.

It’s rainy and ick today. Joy.

Off to forage and purtify for work.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Up. Gotta go to work. But Christmas lunch with buddies, so something good to look forward to.

It’s Firday!!!

The enemy has retreated leaving a few scouts behind. Hopefully they’ll leave soon, too. I have an appointment with my doctor this afternoon to see if they are still there. All in all, this is not one of my favorite weeks.

Firstly, and most importantly …

Thank Og it’s FIRDAY!!!

I’m up, caffeinated (partially…) and at work. I’m fixing a cuppa tea w/lemon and honey, cause my throat is still a bit sore. The snow forecast is worse than last night - up to 14" and right smack dab in the bullseye target area. Ah well, what can you do but hunker down, I guess.

Blurf!

I’m not there to give you an injection, but Benadryl is your friend. Two OTC tablets will handle most cases of hives for about 8 hours. If there’s an emergency situation, like when you had the drug reaction, a single shot’s worth of liquid benadryl will work, and faster than the tablets.

Blurf. Less than 4 hour’s worth of ugly sleep last night, between insomnia, the damned dogs, and rescue pages.

No big plans for the weekend, which is good ‘cuz there’s another noreaster comin’ to Cottonfield County.

Is it quit o’clock yet?

Mork that was awesome!!!

Happy Birfday, bus dude!!!

dotty, you wants we should hex the hub???

Departmental holiday lunch today. Yum. On vacation next week!! Yay!

TGI Effin’ F!

Blurf central here. Had significant trouble getting to sleep last night; I don’t think I drifted off 'til somewhere close to 3am. And of course I had to be up at 6:30ish, but I was so dazed every time the alarm went off (after repeatedly hitting snooze while too sleepy to think to check what time it really was) that I didn’t end up getting out of bed 'til quarter after 7. It’s okay though because my normal wakeup time is there to give me a good 45-60 minutes to awaken and shake off the spectre of sleep and get ready anyway – I hate being in a rush. So I still got to work in plenty of time to still get my morning coffee and a few little clementines to snack on. And a Red Bull, because dammit, I need it today.

Got word that I’m gonna get my next batch o’ app money soon (payment for October). I made more off the app in October than I have during any other month, which seems to run counter-intuitively to the normal App Store sales flow, where stuff typically spikes high on release and then tails off. Not that I’m complaining. Now I’m interested in seeing what November’s numbers look like. (Apple pays out 45 days after month end, presuming you have made more than the requisite $250 either in that month or cumulatively up to that month’s end, and then because I’m a technically a sub-contractor it’s about another 15 days after that before payment is sent off to me.)

Found out that W-8BEN is something I have to fill out and send back to him. Now I just have to figure out how it bloody works. I suck at taxes.

Puggy & Tyger - Thankya! Didn’t get to do that last year for some reason (probably because I never saved it to a text file, as I had to go Googling it to find it again) so I wanted to make up for it this year.

SNOW DAY!
(I miss the old spoiler boxes.)
:D:D:D:D:D

And I have to go to work in it. :frowning: Let’s test the All Wheel Drive on the Subaru!

Remember me?

We have survived the cross-country journey with ourselves, the dog and the fish intact.

The trip itself is a blur of boring. Driving through Arizona felt like being out at sea on a ship. The horizon is where one featureless grayish color meets another featureless pale color. New Mexico at least added colorful rocks.

About the only thing that stands out was a McDonalds restroom somewhere in Texas where someone had far too much fun with Corian. The sink was carved out in the shape of Texas.

Oh, there was getting locked into the restroom at the Mississippi welcome center. Hell of a welcome. Remind me to not go into a restroom anywhere five minutes before the place closes. I was washing my hands, and <click> - not so much as a peek inside or even a “Anyone in here?”

The office is HUGE. No, it’s enormo-mega-super-sprawling-gigant-bigtastic. It’s like a squared-off Pentagon, but with less intelligence put into the layout of corridors. About as secure as the Pentagon too - you can’t even drive onto the parking lot without a badge or guest permit.

More later…

We’re in ACE, Coaster Zombies, DAFE and a couple other clubs. There is not a whole lot I know well in this world but amusement parks east of the Mississippi is one.

Carowinds is a couple of miles from the house. Are they any good? (Keep in mind that my reference points are Six Flags in Vallejo and Great America in Santa Clara.)

Blurfetity blurf blurf blurf.

"tis moving day. I’ll be packing up my desk around lunchtime. You’d be amazed how much crap one can accumulate over the course of 7 years in the same company. Especially when one is a packrat… and this one most certainly is.

Ended up going for drinks at a work friend’s pre-holiday get-together thingumabob. I’d say half the people who turned up had recently been downsized from the company (including the work friend), so there was that awkward mix of happiness to see them again combined with guilt over still being employed and a little envy over their opportunity to start all over again with a decent chunk of severance pay. It’s a sign of my age that red wine makes me uncomfortably sleepy after just two glasses. :stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome back, gotti! So glad you all arrived safe and sound.

Oh wow, Carowinds. I haven’t been there since the senior trip in 1998. They still had a Wayne’s World coaster back then.

I’m sensing the need for a Charlotte MMPfest in the future.

Up, off to blurf.

Depending on the day, Charlotte might be doable.
