Marriage, Mexican Style - A Destination Wedding MMP

It is snowing in Paris again although nothing like the NE of America or even the UK is getting! Freeeeeezing cold again.

I have done nothing this weekend. At all. Today I will pack for leaving on Tuesday night for Christmas holidays.

Up and off to blurf. 4 2/3 more days of hell left.

I managed to stay abed till almost 7, amazingly enough, but Scruffy came in and informed me that she needed OUT!!! NOW!!!

I shoveled a patch for the dogs and got a foretaste of today - that white stuff is HEAVY. **FCD **will not be helping - we’ve already told him that. So the three of us will pace ourselves and get the driveway clear so we can escape, or go out to lunch. Either way. Anyway, all told, we got over a foot, but it’s hard to tell exactly how much, since there was blowing yesterday. It’s very white. And the driveway looks veeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy loooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggg. :frowning:

Although I don’t know if going to lunch will work - the county is good at clearing the main roads, but who knows when the parking lots will be de-snowed? Still, we’ll probably try to get out, if only to escape cabin fever.

I predict today will be painful. I may start off with a handful of ibuprofen, just to be proactive.

Stoopit snow.

I can only say that FCM’s pics of the snow here (we’re in the same general area) speak for themselves! My son went out yesterday afternoon to the Chinese carryout down the street - they were open, but (of course!) not delivering. Those are the only footprints in the snow outside our patio. LOL

I have baked several batches of cookies and we’ve also roasted a chicken. I’ve got to say, though, that I DO NOT relish trying to get to work in this stuff tomorrow. I don’t know whether or not I’m even going to try. I guess I’ll wait and see what they say tomorrow morning. I’m hoping for “liberal leave.”

Other than that, I’m up and caffeinating and surfing. My paper never showed up yesterday (duh!) and probably won’t today either, so I’ll be reading the WP online too I guess. Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Soon I must go purtify so we can go brekkify before churchification.

Dindin was great last night! I had prime rib. YUM! We also rode around lookin’ at all the Crimmus [del]tacky[/del] lights includin’ the display at the big park. They do a pretty good display at the park. Just a fun evenin’ hangin’ with some friends.

Y’all with all the snow, stay safe, keep warm and don’t over do it with the shovelin’. I am happy to report the “NO SNOW” signs are doin’ their job quite well.

Ruble I lurve my smoker! I got all fancified and bought a biiiiiiiiig electric one. It holds a ton o’ meat. I’m a fool for some smoked meat.

Ok, time to gussy up.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Good morning! I’m really sorry for all that yucky snow y’all have. Sounds like WORK! It’s pretty here today, sunny with a high of 62° so they say.

I will finish up the laundry and go grocery shopping today. It’s a big list - all the Christmas food is on there. Dinner for eight Christmas afternoon. The usual - ham, scalloped NOT, fresh green beans made with ham hock (since I won’t have a hambone yet!), corn souffle and dinner rolls. Bread pudding and store-bought Christmas cookies for dessert. I can’t seem to make edible cookies from scratch, and it’s more work than I’m interested in investing.

I told y’all I was gonna be a slug!

I hope the itchies stop soon, Pie.

Prime Rib does indeed sound like Teh Yum, Swampy!

Spaz, bringer of snow, you are so on my shit list this morning. Even Cottonfield County got an inch last night. I got up to take the zone car back yo the rescue station this morning, slipped on some ice on the back porch, and folded my right leg under me. I think the only thing that saved me from a broken ankle was that I had my high rise combat boots on. Sneakers would have meant snap…

As it is, I may have broken the smaller bone in my lower leg. I can walk barely, and there’s an occasional popthat comes from the seat of my pain.

On the bright side, I’ve been whining about wanting a day of sloth, and it looks like my wish was granted.

Oh look, the Intrawebz is back!

It went down yesterday around 7:30am; I was having breakfast and came back to find no intrawebz. Figuring that, as it so often happens, the server would be brought up when the IT guys came in at 9, I played some Civ.

9+, intrawebz still down. 10+, down. Went to the front desk, was told it was down for maintenance until 11am. Had one of those baths that ought’a be illegal due to outrageous water consumption. I did everything to my feet that a person can do with her own feet except for suckle on the toes, due to having lost the ability to reach that far, and paint the nails, due to not having any nail polish. Came back from the bath and found skype up (so I was able to call Mom), but the nameserver stayed down. According to the lady that was at the front desk today at noon, they were doing some updates and apparently ran into trouble. She’d been able to badger IT into creating a local account for her on her computer so she could at least get some work done. Went to the movies looking for some mindless entertainment and oh boy did I find it.

Sorry the itchies came back, Pie.

Nava, I think that falls in the brainless catagory, not mindless.

BBBob, remember, it’s not the falling, it’s the anoying bounceing afterward…

Mucho blowing and drifting outside Casa Vorlon, and not a plow in sight to move the foot plus we got. I’m staying inside and playing it safe, having layed in the milk and bread yeaterday.

:confused::eek::D:D:D

“At St Trinian’s, we don’t know the meaning of the word ‘unfeasable’.”

dumb blond nodding: “That’s true…”

Aww, you’re fine. Stop telling these fibulas.

You are going to the ER, right? I mean immediately, right?

Hey, Bobbio, did you got to urgent care or the ER?

Wow, you folks with all the snow certainly got slammed. Stay safe, warm, and don’t overdo with the shoveling!

I hope the hives are a little better today, Pie.

The Christmas party at my friend’s house was a blast. I have some very generous and loving friends. My goodness, we came home with such a haul. I was not expecting that at all. We didn’t get home until after 3:30 in the morning.

I’ve got errands to run and stocking stuffers to pick up today.

No, I didn’t. I did have a rescue buddy give me a trauma screen. He saw no obvious sign of a fracture, and my Achilles tendon is OK. I’m now about an hour into a double dose of Aleve, and it’s helping a lot, so whatever I did is soft tissue.

I promised the wife that should I have trouble in the morning, I will get it X-rayed at my PCP’s office.

ETA:Yesterday’s fahr…

How sad, Bobbio.

I’ve got to get myself motivated.

We’ll keep thinking good thoughts about it. And if I never mentioned it before and forget in the future ------ thank you. I tried being part of a VFD and didn’t have what it takes except for the fundraising part. Anyone who can do active duty gets my big salute.

Whew. It’s been an interesting day so far.

The three of us were shoveling away when a guy came by with a bobcat. He said he’d finish our driveway for $10. We gave him $20. He not only cleared a nice path, but he got rid of the monster pile in front of the mailbox - yay for that!! And it’s been sunny all day, so much of the driveway is dry.

We still have to dig out the van and the place where my daughter parks her car. For now, my car is in the driveway on the side where **FCD **parks, and the Beetle goes in the garage. That way, we can get to work without making them get up to move a car at 5:30 in the dark of morning.

Daughter is having a career crisis. She has decided that teaching is not what she wants to do. She much prefers the office and prep work to dealing with the kids every day. So she’s been talking to **FCD **about learning to do drafting and maybe going to work for his company. He’s excited because drafting can lead to designing can lead to engineering. Anyway, we have the CAD software so she can start practicing and come July, she may be more than qualified to start work for him.

Her other thought was to join the Navy. My issue with that is I don’t want custody of SIL while she’s gone. Well, that and the whole war thing going on. But seriously, having spent 11 years on active duty myself, I just don’t see my daughter taking to the military. Of course, that’s what my family thought when I enlisted… In any case, the world may have one less teacher to deal push around.

We just came back from lunch and errands. The roads around here are in pretty good shape - at least the major ones. Our county does an outstanding job of snow removal. And the shopping center parking lots had mountainous piles that won’t melt till June or so…

I expect to sleep really well tonight and not be able to move tomorrow. Stoopit snow.

Two and a half hours later after posting last. and I can walk without aid, albeit with a limp. I think I’ll be OK.

Good to know, **Bobbio. ** You do realize that we’re all just a bunch of mother hens here, right? We gotta make sure our Mumpers are taking care of themselves!
