Mary Ann Mobley has died

Link. Older folks may remember her in a couple of Elvis movies. She was a Miss America in the late 50s.

I knew she’d been a Miss America, but other than that, I knew her only as a regular “celebrity” on game shows.

She was cast as April Dancer in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. but replaced by Stephanie Powers when the character got her own spinoff. However, she later replaced Dixie Carter as Drummond’s wife in Diff’rent Strokes to balance things out.

She was in one of the first episodes (a two-parter) of the original Mission: Impossible as a circus star. I remember watching it in September 1966. She was just gorgeous! :o

RIP.

RIP, Ms Mobley, a regular on several shows I’ve been a fan of over the years.

OTOH, holy hells, no obituary should have that many corrections…

I remember when she was crowned *Miss America. *Back then, the pageant was take very seriously. R.I.P.

Damn, Willis really is going to wind up being the last Diffrent Strokes left standing. Watch out Danny Cooksey, he comin for you!
