Yes, I cannot use it, as there seems to be two killers. In other news, I have a new #9. I missed it when it happened as only three were killed. The final victim died later in the hospital.
The suspect in a fatal shooting at a fast-food restaurant in Idaho died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said Sunday, crediting an off-duty officer and a citizen with firing shots that diverted him. Investigators are confident that the gunman, identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams, acted alone during the shooting Saturday at an In-N-Out location in Twin Falls, Police Chief Matthew Hicks said at a news conference. In all, four people died, including Williams, and seven others were injured at the recently opened restaurant in the southern Idaho city of about 56,000 people.
The Twin Falls shooting featured a rare appearance by not one but two of the fabled “good guy with a gun”, one of whom was an off-duty cop. Good on them for preventing further casualties (by volunteering to be targets themselves, a kind of bravery most people won’t actually know if they have until they are dodging freedom seeds) and good on them for not hitting any other civilians as they added additional bullets flying at the chaotic scene. All in all, I do not think gun violence can be solved by adding more gun violence.
We’re discussing this on a true-crime website. Of course, we all assumed it was an ex-spouse who killed his (step)kids, etc. but in this case, it was a 44-year-old who killed his parents, his 92-year-old grandmother (!) and four nieces and nephews, and his sister.
The 44-year-old was a college graduate who’d “had difficulty getting and keeping jobs” and his parents were trying to kick him out. They said he just basically lived in his bedroom, on his computer, and they weren’t sure what he did in there. Analysis of said computer will probably be quite interesting, to say the least.
Yeah, yeah, I know it’s the New York Post, but this answers a lot of questions.
