No not in my little village. But very very close.
Mass shooting. 11 shot, 3 dead. That’s all I know from the local news. Other outfits have it covered about the same.
I never knew Mad Butcher grocery stores were still around.
Stinkin’ outrage.

Story on CNN – shooter is in custody:
I made the title more explicit, added a date, and added a breaking news tag.
Disregard irrelevancy.
Every shooting is too much. I’ve always been in a decent mood in grocery stores even as an employee there. I surely don’t understand the anger.
This is awful.
I should be more aware when I go out.
How horrible to have that happen so close to home. The guy had a shot gun and just started blasting and amazingly survived a police shootout.
To be perfectly honest everyone in Arkansas has a shot gun, at least.
But yeah they do plenty of damage. 2 LE were wounded.
The local news reports say they are not in serious condition.
I’m always fearful in public. Kinda how I am. But the Piggly Wiggly, Mad Butcher etc., made me suck my breath in.
A few years back, I recall there was one of those open carry nutjobs who brought his shotgun to a grocery store and decided it was a good time to start racking shells while perusing the frozen food aisle. He didn’t hurt anyone, but it did prompt some discussion about what it meant to be in fear for your life. It seems to me the sound of a shotgun being loaded as you’re trying to decide which Peppridge Farms turnover to get might be somewhat stress inducing.
I’m generally a pro 2nd amendment kind of a guy, but my side is going to be in for a rough reality check one of these days if nobody does anything to take care of this problem.
I’ve probably seen 1000s of open carry, quietly doing their shopping.
Racking a shot-gun is just ridiculous in a store.
Someone looking for an argument and a chance to express their stupidity, while armed. Good grief.
You might also add a location (Arkansas) to the title.
Fordyce, Arkansas is a place almost no one here has heard of since it has a population of 3,400 people and is fairly poor (the median income for a household in the city was $23,000, and the median income for a family was $30,000).
Home of Bear Bryant.
I had my own close call last weekend at the Rochester Hills splash pad shooting. If things had gone just a little bit differently, I, my husband and my son would have been there. I mean we had actually discussed going there that day.
It’s a lot harder when it’s close to home.
Try that in a small town…
I am surprised. Normally the police shoot the guy repeatedly. Good that they didn’t blast away but considered that other people were present.
Once upon a time guys like this would be fast-tracked to a date with the hangman.
Yeah. The good old days. When people would get lynched for trying to vote.
Explain the link between capital punishment for multiple counts of murder, and terrorism against civil rights.
Both involve killing people without due process.
That’s a mighty strange definition of due process; but we’re getting off track here.
