OK, I’ve got to ask this and hopefully it won’t sound too stupid.
So, I’m not the sharpest knife in anyone’s back but I just don’t understand this – never have. How does everyone know what sex everyone else is ? I’m beginning to think I must just amble around missing the blindingly obvious. Mr Bloody Magoo of cyber space.
Obviously some user names are fairly strongly male or female and the gay folks aren’t too shy about saying “I’m gay” so that sorts some of the ambiguities for me but a lot of the time, I don’t have a clue.

While I appreciate the compliment, I would be willing to bet that this would make DRY none too happy. This is, of course, completely conjectural and based only on what I’ve read…but I think I’m far too abrasive. Besides which, I’m pretty sure I’m the only chick on here with whom DRY hasn’t flirted, so I’m doing something wrong in that area as well. And I refuse to make any crush or laminated lists, so that automatically leaves me off of his. Ratfarts.
Regarding the OP, the only couple-matches I can think of are all really remarkably bitchy, and I’d really rather not let the Crimson-Eyed Beast out of my head. I’ve kept her in check (for the most part) since I started posting, and it would be dangerous - nay, apocalyptic if I let her out now.

[hijack]L_C: Good question … now that I think about it, I haven’t the foggiest idea how I do it. But I can’t remember being wrong more than a couple of times. (One of these was the infamous Notthemama, which suggests that it’s a matter of paying attention to what people say rather than instinct. The other – and yes, this was a LONG time ago – was Drain Bead. Even after I figured out she was female, I kept picturing her as slightly butch, with short blond hair and a strong interest in auto repair.) And I’d say that my own username is about as gender-neutral as you can get, but only rarely has anybody mistaken me for a male.
Of course, now that I’ve spent several minutes thinking about it, I’m beginning to doubt my abilities. (I just checked your profile in order to confirm that you were, in fact, male – something I had never had the slightest doubt about an hour ago.)
