Matt_mcl, Get Over Yourself, Hon!

I’d just like to point out that jayjay flirted with me in this thread, and I work out at the gym, mountain bike occasionally, and jog three times a week. So no hot monkey lovin’ for you, buddy! [sub]Plus, I’m not gay, which could also be an obstacle…[/sub]

. . . so.
Er . . .
Well, then.

I suppose . . .

Um, ok. I’ll just go have a smoke, shall I?

OK, Matt, I apologize. (Sorry, Miller) I guess I read too much into innocent comments and unjustifiably flew off the handle.

Iampunha, if you wanted to run your hands over my manly body, then why didn’t you have coffee with Geobabe, Cartooniverse and me by the Watergate this morning? We missed you.

Apology accepted.

An apology? In the Pit?! This is too much to bear!

It can’t end like this. This had the potential to be a horrid, scream-fest.

Thus, I take it upon myself to shoulder the burden and say:

Matt: Gawddamnit, must you write opinions that I disagree with in a coherent and cogent fashion? I’m sick to death of your clear writing style.

Gobear: Dash it all: How dare you make an Oscar Wilde reference to me! I have documents that prove (no, I won’t show them to you, why do you ask?) that I am the only person on the boards allowed to quote or paraphrase Oscar.

Both of you: I’m quite ashamed that you settled your differences civilly and maturely. Perhaps that would work in other forums, but this is the Pit. I want hurt feelings (not mine, of course…I’m far too sensitive) damnit!

Fenris

This thread was so refreshing. I’m all happy and stuff.

Does that make it a miserable failure as a pit thread?

I’m sorry everybody!
[sub]I just want to be involved.[/sub]

I thought Get over yourself had a fresh and lighthearted perspective. The production values were high quality, the characters likable, and the plotting tight.

But, like any light snack it cloys without nourishing, and I left the thread unfulfilled.

In spite of the aforementioned succinct plotting, it was stictly formulaic in its structure. You knew how it was going to end, neither of the main characters were able to convince us otherwise, and much of the suspense was lost in the process. It’s a shame because it had such high potential. I was looking forward to the final grand confrontation which seemed to be promised at the outset, and the thread built towards in the first act, but much to my disapointment, it never materialized.

Mattmcl does his usual fine job, succesfully conveying the haughty arrogance that is his trademark.

Gobear’s problems though are reminiscent of the young Kurt Russell, in that he seems to be having difficulty making the transition to more mature roles.

Unfortunately for Gobear this thread was no Escape from New york.

It reminded me of the classic Waiting for Godot, the way that it built to a climax that never came.

Escape from Godot?

Perhaps.

Well, don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.

Okay, rant made, rant rebutted, rant apologized for, apology accepted. I’m gonna close this thread before the flirting turns me into a diabetic.
