McCain not as forked as the McCain Forked thread, but still forked

The more I hear him speak, the more of a slimy liar I’m convinced he is. A despicable human being.

But it’s looking more and more like we won’t have to put up with his sorry self for much longer.

I heard a McCain ad this morning which told me two things that I hadn’t realized: first, that John McCain is a “fighter;” and second, that I’m uncomfortable with someone from Hawa’ii with a name like Barack Obama.

Pathetic. And the fact that they’re wasting resources running this sort of drivel in the Seattle metro area (they don’t refer to this as the “Soviet of Washington” for nothing, at least as far as the central Puget Sound area is concerned) says nothing complimentary about the campaign organization.

The RNC won’t give him up:

Hawaiʻi

I suppose they neglected to mention that McCain is “from Panama”.

I’d wager that the Seattle TV stations are carried by cable systems throughout the state.

I just noticed that in the latest in McCain’s waffling about on campaign strategies includes him talking about how he’s a fighter. It’s like he’s carefully stepping in the footprints left in the mud by Hillary Clinton a few months ago.

Next up, he cries when someone asks him why he wants to be president. Hey, maybe on Letterman tonight.

Do people really feel like we need a “fighter” right now? I’m no political campaign strategist, but it seems like most people, faced with the possibility of the biggest economic crisis since the Great Depression and war on two fronts, might want calm, reflective leadership instead of someone who wants to go out and kick some ass. I think this is a really strange tack for McCain to take and doesn’t seem to be very relevant to the current emotional climate of the country.

Oops — I never could, punctuate? well.

To be sure, but this was a radio station. Should have been clearer about that.

Obama 53, McCain 39 in a CBS/NYT National Poll :open_mouth:

I guess tomorrow McCain’s campaign will unveil a new plan that they’ve been holding onto in case they fall below 40%. I’m confident it will be amazing.

Heh. My faith in the American electorate might just possibly be restored.

I quite agree. I always thought it was hysterical that Republicans acted the angriest and made the most noise about needing to fight the establishment about 4 years ago, when they controlled all three branches of government.

I think your comments are dead on.

He’s probably going to suspend his campaign to go after Osama bin Laden. McCain knows where he is, y’know, you betcha.

Heh, 538 has McCain’s chances down to 4.2% now. OTOH (according to his projection model) Obama has an 8% chance to win MS and a 9% chance to win AR. Hard to estimate on his graph but it looks like Obama has more of a chance of going over 425 than McCain has of winning and a 53% chance of winning by 375+.

I think Osama is hiding out with McCain’s chances of pulling this out … both where McCain will never go.

Here’s how lame the McCain campaign is:

I had a voicemail at home, one of those recorded messages, that told me that Obama sold America out to Hollywood and only spent 20 minutes talking to economic advisors on the day they all went to Washington in a blind panic.

It was so random and pathetic I almost felt sorry for them.

I’ll also point out that a 60 seat Senate majority has risen to 30% from 25%. Sure, that counts Lieberman as a Dem., but if that scenario comes to play, is he really going to hold out on straight party-line cloture votes?

Hell, a while ago it was 10%.

CBS spikes three points more Dem. Add that another 3 point Margin of Error, and you’re back at 8%, plus or minus.

Yep, Nate Silver of 538 makes the same point, even so… 14% wow.
