McDonalds hates black people.

it is a PARODY please stop being retarded now

Perhaps you would find better use of your righteous indignation researching the thesis that R. Kelly hates black people, or indeed, humankind in general.

I even remember a black comedian from the era, or at least the early 1990s, comment on the phenomenon in classic “white people do this, black people do THIIIIS” style.

Why is it considered good when high-end products (luxury cars, houses, and so on) are marketed towards minorities while they’re marketed to the mass market at the same time, but it’s bad with low-end products? Sure, I can understand outrage if McDonalds was targeted only at blacks, like menthol cigarettes and Church’s Fried Chicken, but it isn’t.

I doubt it: “coon” = (hopefully) obsolete offensive term for black people.

JRB

They taste like Mcnuggets at all?

Them’s good eatn’ boss!

I don’t care who you are, that’s funny right there.

I’ll go out of my way to go to the Lebanon one rather than the saltier (and it’s hard to overdo the salt when it comes to my McD’s), staler White River Junction location.

There are few people of color here but we get the variety of commercials–I thought the R&B R Kelly crooning one was cute, and the wedding cake is a food fantasy of mine. All colors of people look corny in McD’s commercials.

Hey, gigi is really close to me!

Hmm… ad’s are certianly AA crooning themed but it’s more for comedic effect I don’t see “Girl, you got a 10-piece/please don’t be stingy” = the context you seem to imply.

Is that second link supposed to do something? The page title (a very bad word for black people, followed by “alarm”) indicates that it’s meant to be some sort of shock page with a sound file or something, the kind we’re not supposed to link to without warning. But I did click on it and all I see is a blank page with a “YTMND” (the hosting provider) logo. So either way I’d suggest that other posters not bother clicking the link.

Time for an Upper Valley DopeFest??

I hate these commercials. McDonalds takes black culture and uses it to make commercials to appeal to black people.

I think if I was black I’d be offended, but mostly they’re just really terrible commercials.

I don’t understand the offense. Black people overwhelmingly outnumber white people in their love of McD’s and their love of R&B, in proportion if not in absolute. Why should McDonalds NOT advertise to them?

Cite?

McDonald’s loves ALL people…as long as they eat at McDonald’s. No matter what your color is your money all spends the same there.

I’m failing to see the outrage. Not that I’d eat at a McDonald’s unless I was near to starving and there wasn’t anything else near…

Just wanted to point out that if a McD. ad targeting a particular demographic strikes you as offensive, there’s a non-trivial chance it was put together by a member of that demographic. McD.'s, like a lot of other big companies these days, not infrequently implements ‘vendor diversity’ policies and as part of this will try to engage minority-owned ad agencies, among other things.

By the way, I’d be kind of happy to be a target audience.

I’ve never said this before on the SDMB, after years of membership, but…CITE?

How on earth do you know that “black people overwhelmingly outnumber white people in their love of McD’s?”

I’m actually more amused than anything else by this statement.

Is this a whoosh?

Please say yes.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Define ‘white people’. Also, as a percentage of the population or simply by numbers?

From my totally unbiased and mathematically accurate view point I’d say that foreigners are more fond of McDonald’s than either black OR white American’s. I mean…have you seen the LINES at some of the McDonald’s in other countries? And they can’t all be displaced American’s looking for a Big Mac and fries…can they…?

(btw…I’m joking here in case anyone is going to try and pull the old ‘CITE!’ on me for this)

Well, you know when Bush stole the first election, about 25 percent of the americans left the country as they had so bravely threatened. Four years later, the second 25 percent resolutely followed. Ever since, millions of Expat Mericans have been wandering the globe wondering when it would be safe to come home. While their supposedly self proclaimed sophisticated palates could theorectically handle the now freely available pickled goats anus, the cheap epicurean thrills of the homeland beckon to them like the half off signs at Walmart on Christmas Eve. So yes, it IS Mericans standing in line in all those furin places

You have to have Quicktime installed to see it. Then it loads a tiled video clip that shows a police officer (I think – it’s pretty poor quality) freaking out when the aforementioned alarm goes off.

Ireland’s McDonalds ads are pretty cheesy too.

and the far worse:
