We much prefer Burger King.
Love the 99 cent menu-the tacos are good, baked potato, etc.
Me and my son can have a whole meal for the entire price of $5!
Also, their fries are better, not so many thin hard ones.
Also, the burgers are actually grilled (or taste so).
It was so cool- Sunday we went to Burger King around noonihs, and there were about 10 people in front of us.
All our orders were done and we were outta there in 3 minutes!
Or so it seemed.
Never actually had Fast food before.
[ignorant hijack] They have McDonald’s in India? [/ignorant hijack]
I love Big Macs. BK burgers, however, now tastes like puke on a bun. ugh. As far as KFC, while I miss their Kentucky Nuggets (their chicken strips are too hard and dry and tastes nothing like the original recipe like their nuggets used to), I still relish their regular chicken anyway…it’s one of those foods that I’d roll around nekkid in the tub with (well, except for the chicken bones…ouch.)
But the thinness is the soul! The soul I telz ya! Actually, to be fair I think Mc D has the thinnest fries of all - and for me they have the wholesome taste equivalent to one whole pint of distilled water (with or without ice).
Juanita - I missed that memo too. BK used to be this white boy’s favorite, and as you can see, it’s still high on my list:
Taco Bell. Of course it’s not real Mex, but whatever it is, I like it, and it’s cheap. My order’s usually a gordita or a chalupa, and a Meximelt. Gotta have that Meximelt.
Wendy’s. Definitely the best 99¢ menu, and fresh burgers.
BK. The Whopper Jr. on a normal appetite, the Whopper if I’m majorly hungry, and onion rings. They’re just average onion rings, but most other fast-food places don’t have rings at all.
Other burger joints that I only see on the road (e.g. Checkers).
Arby’s, especially if they’ve sent out one of their 5-for-$5.99 coupons for their regular roast beef sandwiches.
McD’s only as an act of desperation; KFC never. (I don’t do fried chicken; just never liked it all that much.)
As for the foreign fast food, no BK or Taco Bell in Osaka. There are a handful of BKs in Japan, mostly in Tokyo and Okinawa, and near or on the US bases. KFC, McD’s, and Mister Donuts are everywhere. Wendys can be found in a few bigger cities. I tend to eat
The best local fast food burger joint in Japan is Mos Burger. The special menu item is the “rice burger”, which is a bun of pressed cooked rice and include the yakiniku rice burger - grilled sliced beef and the gobo rice burger - sauteed slices of burdook root.
The one of the main Japanese fast food comperable to US fast food is the “beef bowl”. Take a bowl of rice and top it with grilled sliced beef and onions. The best fast food beef bowl place (and the prototype for all others) is Yoshinoya. Here’s the US Yoshinoya menu: http://www.yoshinoyausa.com/menu.html
Has DQ stopped selling hamburgers? I stopped in to one a while back-all this place had was ice cream and drinks. I remember the DQ “brazier” burger-somehow they managed to make a hamburger about 6’ inches in diameter-and around 1/8" thick! How they did that is beyond me…but they actually tasted pretty good.
I would say that BK has the best fast-food burgers, if you get a bouble cheesburger (plain) they will make it fresh for you…plus, you avoid all the fat from that “special sauce” (which is really mayonnaise and russian dressing).
Wendy’s. There used to be one near where I now live, but when the Montreal Forum closed a few years back, a few places closed down due to the lack of the pre- and post-hockey game/concert business, including my beloved Wendy’s. The nearest one is two metro stations away, on Peel street, and I’m never that desperate.
I like KFC on occasion, in particular the Twisters, but I’ve probably been blacklisted for delivery because I passed out drunk one night and didn’t hear the delivery guy buzz my place, or the call from the order center…
In any case, there’s about four Asian noodle places within a two-block radius of my place, and a Subway nearby as well. Mmm. BBQ rib sub with extra cheese…
I think BK pulled out of Japan a few years ago. There may be some on the American bases, but there are none left in Tokyo. Personally, I was heartbroken, they had the best burgers in Japan.
KFC here serves pretty sad potatoes and cole slaw, but they have a chicken burrito-type dish that’s quite tasty.
McDonald’s is strictly for when I need something in my stomach in under five minutes and don’t feel like going to a convenience store. I like their shakes, though.
It has been a while since I’ve seen a DQ that did grub as well as the ice cream and shakes ralph124c. Many a DQ are disappearing as well.
A&W does good grub if you can find one - but they are rapidly disappearing too (in Oregon/California anyway). Their onion rings are fantastic, and their curly fries… MMMMM… curly fries…
Well, I was very upset when the Russian Tea Room closed earlier this year; where am I to get a good Chicken Kiev for under $60? I mean, the food at “21” is okay, and there’s always Le Cirque, but . . .
Ooops . . . [Eve backs quietly out of thread, closing door behind her]
I pronounced that in my head as “beef bowl.” But it looks delicious, as does the breaded shrimp bowl.
I believe there’s a Mos Burger in Waikiki, at least there was the last time I was there. I’ve never eaten there, though.
I used to be a slave for the Jack-in-the-Box Sourdough Burger with curly fries. Now I don’t consume much fast food at all, but given the choices above I’d go with KFC. But if I had my druthers, it’s Popeyes all the way.
