Memorable Robot "Sidekicks"?

Clank from Ratchet &Clank videogame series

Where’s the love for Twiggy from Buck Rogers?

What was the deal with the little lightbulb guy that hung around with Gyro Gearloose?

Twiki, and he’s mentioned in post #2.

Old B.O.B. and V.I.N.CENT from The Black Hole. Maximillian also qualifies.

Has nobody mentioned Bender yet?

H.E.R.B.I.E. - the Fantastic Four’s li’l flying robot, who was created for one of many FF Saturday morning animated series, he replaced the Human Torch. Actually, he probably belongs on a list of “least loved sidekicks” somewhere between Jar-Jar and Scrappy Doo.

The Doctor (“Who” that is) had another robot companion Kamelion, who was only seen on the show twice because of mechanical difficulties.

Besides Twiki, there was another robot in the later episodes of “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century” called Chryton, who was apparently modelled after C3PO (in personality if not looks.)

That would be Crichton, possibly named for The Admirable Crichton, not to be confused with Kryten.

He was infiltrating the Church to find a group of renegade priests who were going to kidnap the Pope.

…Would you believe he did it on a dare?

How about ‘he really liked the sacramental wine?’

Only the OP and one other poster. Bender would probably feel that was not nearly enough.

I just wish everybody* would stop calling Marvin “Marvin the Paranoid Android.” That was a joke made by Zaphod Beeblebrox. And a dismissive joke at that. Just a one-off dismissive gag, everybody. Nothing to see here.

*Including the people who wrote the jacket copy for the books.

Is it okay if I refer to him as “Your Plastic Pal Who’s Fun to Be With”?

Oh, go stick your head in pig.

While inaccurate and kind of annoying, I thought “Paranoid Android” was used repeatedly in the book.

Thanks!
For many years I haven’t been able to explain that show or come up with the name. And I now I realize I don’t even recognize the name. But that’s the cast all right. I recognize their names, but would never have come up with Perry King, Joe Penny and Thom Bray, although they’ve each been in many other shows.

Note, since this thread is about robots, the Riptide one was apparently named The Roboz.

Bet nobody remembers this one!
While looking up The Roboz, I ran into a youtube of *Holmes & Yo-Yo"
Yo-yo is a robot detective, played by John Schuck who was the MASH movie’s dentist Capt. Walter ‘Painless’ Waldowski

You didn’t actually read the thread, did you?

Mr. Butlertron, Principal Scudworth’s assistant from Clone High, is pretty memorable. Wesley.

Also, his nemesis Scangrade, but he doesn’t really count as a sidekick what with being a nemesis and all.

I just figured out why I got Holmes and Yoyo backwards. I was actually thinking of Future Cop, in which Ernest Borgnine plays a cop with a robot partner. The robot was named “Officer Haven”, according to imdb.

And then there was Rem, the robot sidekick in the Logan’s Run TV series.

Gads, I watched a lot of bad TV shows when I was a kid.

I can’t believe that R. Dorothy Wayneright didn’t make it onto the first page.
