When I think seduced, I’m thinking a situation where it’s not exactly against his will, but she would be counting on inciting a strong emotional response that would cause him to do things he wouldn’t otherwise. (She/he picked based on the OP’s subject).
I don’t normally apply the word seduced to situations like a woman batting her eyelashes at some guy in a singles bar, or inviting him up for coffee after a ride home. If the word seduced is expanded to cover every example of telling someone you are interest in them or want to sleep with them, it’s practically meaningless
Right. “Seduced” implies a level of, “I knew I shouldn’t have sex with her because of various reasons, but then she did X, Y or Z after which I had sex with her even though I believed I shouldn’t have.”
If it’s just “She asked me to have sex and I said yes,” that’s not being seduced.
Definitely, at least once in my life, by the woman who became my first girlfriend.
I was 18, had barely dated, and certainly never had an ongoing relationship. I was in a Dungeons & Dragons group, most of whom were in their 20s and early 30s. Two members of the D&D group were getting married, and another member of the group (a very attractive 32 year old divorced woman) invited me to help her make a cake for the wedding (it was a very informal wedding and reception).
So, I went over there, not expecting anything other than cake-baking. I got pounced on, and snogged…which led, a few weeks later, to her deflowering me in the back seat of her car. I was by no means an unwilling seducee, but she was absolutely, positively, the one running the show. We wound up dating, on and off, for about a year and a half (much to my parents’ chagrin), but the relationship eventually broke down, as we were just in different places, due to the age difference.
Twice I’ve had a woman (once a boss, once a woman who watched my kid when I was single) in a difficult marriage say to me about how they should have an affair with someone to teach their husband a lesson. Both times, it was years later when I realized what they were suggesting and that people don’t casually remark to the other sex that they’re open to having an affair just to make conversation.
Both times it was probably for the best anyway. But, still, I’m pretty oblivious.
