I came across this site a while ago.
I think the question has probably been adequately answered, however I just wanted to add a few comments.

The key to post orgasmic erection is continued stimulation. Pure and simple. Perhaps seminal retention encourages folks to experiment more with continued stimulation, since there’s no cleanup to be distracted by. However I assure you that ejaculation has nothing to do with erection.
Well, I can’t say anything about the spiritual-ness of my orgasms and I don’t have a clue what is meant by an “internal type of orgasm” or why that might be a good thing. However, I can say that I use Kegels to prolong my orgasm which does, indeed, intensify them. It also has the ‘interesting’ side effect of ‘improving’ the projectile qualities of my ejaculate… Not that I’m trying to set any distance records or anything…
One more point I wanted to make about orgasm sans ejaculate… after three or four orgasms in one session, the orgasms can continue, but the ejaculate doesn’t.

I highly doubt that… I have no doubt that ‘they’ say it, mind you… Bear in mind that semen is composed of a number of components secreted by a number of different glands. It’s unlikely that Kegels could shut off the valves to all of these glands. It’s much more likely that the semen is simply redirected from it’s normal path.

Well, what is ‘life force’, anyway. I wouldn’t bother to argue that semen doesn’t contain your ‘life force’ when the whole concept of ‘life force’ is mystical and unscientific…
BTW, Don, I think it’s kinda cute that you obscured the word ‘semen’… [wink]

Of course, you realize, if your male organ has been medically mutilated, you’re not in fact having a real orgasm anyway. You’re experiencing a secondary rush of nerve-ending overstimulation that is easily mistaken for climax. The emission of fluid is not a true ejaculation in this case; rather, it is a very fast release of extraneous fluids built up behind the anterior prostate after the nerve-ending rush causes the muscle to suddenly relax.
Only uncut men can experience a true orgasm and a true ejaculation, and, further, can control the spurt-free orgasm at will. The technique, besides enhancing pleasure, also raises IQ, reverses premature balding, and straightens teeth. In addition, after several withheld ejaculations, the ultimately released emission will emerge with such force that it blows your sexual partner right off your rod and against the opposite wall. Women really like this. Trust me.

Barbitu8 asserted that Flomax does not shut off ejaculation. It does indeed, but not for most of its users. If you read the “fear sheet” that comes with the drug, you’ll find inability to ejaculate on the list of possible side effects. A small percentage of users, including me, experience that effect. I have been able to get around that problem by changing the time-of-day I take the dose. I now take it just before going to sleep, and I’m able to ejaculate just fine any time between waking up and the next night’s sleep.

AskNott, my urologist told me to take it half an hour before I go to bed.
I’ll reply to barbitu8’s post, but first I should clarify something else. In an earlier post in this thread, I wrote that I had learned to forestall ejaculation by exercise. I should explain, that was before I began taking Flomax.
Now, as to the dose timing; barbitu8 wrote that his urologist specified he take his dose “half an hour before I go to bed.” Mine said, “half an hour after breakfast,” which turned out to be a bad idea. Not only did it give me the side effect, but it made me drowsy during the day.

So sorry to revive a thread that’s been dead for two and a half months, but I have two questions related to this exact topic.
For the men who’ve said they’ve had a dry orgasm without trying–how common is this? And would being drunk (or on any other drugs, really) have any influence on something like this happening?
Actually, I recently heard on my local news radio that a study was done which showed that people who have frequent sex tend to look ten years younger that they actually are.
Or was it that people who look 10 years younger than they really are just get more frequent sex?
About these Kegel exercises that JoeyBlades and other mention doing. . . what do you do? Or where online could one look up information on how to do them?
I have done it on several occasions. But orgasm without ejaculation does not feel as good as orgasm with ejaculation, feels like something is missing. Part of that climatic feeling is the mental knowledge that you’re squirting your little men out to do battle and into your partner’s body.
You can climax a second time because the jus is still in you, but the effort to orgasm without ejaculation leaves you so drained (no pun intended) that the 2nd time is not worth the effort, you feel like you’re just going through the motions.

It’s only happened once to me. I believe I was sober at the time, but if I had some drinks, it certainly wasn’t the reason.
A man can orgasm without ejaculation easily. When you are about to come grab the base of the penis & squeeze the pee tube really tight. Result? No semen. Spiffy.

Ah, but assuming you’re doing it with somebody, those can be some damn good motions…
Neil, I believe Maxim had a thing on that a month or two ago. Basically isolate the PC muscle by stopping the flow of pee (that’s the one) and just flex it repeatedly. I think they said something like 10 sets of 10 twice a day for a grand total of 200 contractions. It sounds kind of silly, but it’s worth it, don’t you think?
Dry orgasms? Sure, had plenty.
Of course, they were nearly all before puberty really hit, so.

Pretty simple, Neil. Start by interrupting the flow while you’re urinating. You may want to do this while seated, because it might interfere with your aim. Once you do that a few times, you’ll know which muscle to twitch. After that, you can do it any time. You’ll notice your penis bobs up a bit when you tighten the muscle, and you can amuse yourself by using the muscle to bounce your erection. Work your way up to groups of 30 contractions, then go for longer duration in the contractions.
