merry christmas from the southern hemisphere

Merry christmas and a happy new year all you folks in the north who still have to wait.

christmas? good try we all know it’s july down there

8.30 am and already over 31 degrees. Sad.

Merry Chrissy to you, too! My sister spent some time in Australia and she said you call it Chrissy down there.

It’s never really Christmas until I hear this classic…
Christmas in Dixie

It is 105 degrees in the shade here.

For Christmas I received a weather station and put it outside in the sun (it has a rain gauge etc). It is recording 118 degrees- it doesn’t go any higher.

Crikey! It was cloudy all day here in Melbourne. A bit disappointing.

Yes- I was talking to a friend in Geelong earlier and she said the weather was pretty good. Also spoke to family in Rockhampton and they are totally sick of the rain.

It got up to just on 30 here today (Maitland NSW), and it looks like we’ll be getting much the same tomorrow for Boxing Day.

Yes. Couldn’t seem to decide whether to be warm or cold or muggy or not. Shame as my plan b option (Wellington) apparently had a cracker of a day.

It has dropped to 34 C outside now (7.30 PM). Cold beer is mandatory.

I can’t work out the Bureau of Meteorology. According to them it was 40 degrees Celsius here today- it was far hotter than that.

Twas a lovely 28 here in Sydney, now 24. I have had many, many Margaritas. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and now I have to go to bed and get some semblance of order going on so I can call my American family in the morning and not sound like I have a hangover!

Wow- you may get lucky with that many margaritas Gleena

…I’m sorry, I don’t recall…
…ow…
