Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. It’s cloudy and drizzly today. I had breakfast tacos for brunch, now I’m going to get beer and get a haircut. Fun times.
Happy Saturday!
Not really, but such is life.
It’s another cold, rainy, gloomy day. I went out in it to get the dog some chicken nuggets since he doesn’t like the ham anymore. It could be because I was hiding some NutriCal in it and he hates that stuff. We turned the heat back on in the house and I ran the heater the whole time I was in the truck, it’s only 48 degrees outside.
I made him some homemade pedialyte last night and he drank a good bit of it. So did the cat, so I had to search if it was okay for cats to have some. The cat has his own water bowl but he prefers drinking out of the dog’s bowl. I don’t know why, because the dog drools and slobbers in his water, and even he won’t drink out of his bowl twice until we clean it and give him fresh water.
We’re going to get groceries later today. I got the dog some baby food; chicken, turkey, and banana. I bought some chicken nuggets for him too. At least we like those in case he decides he doesn’t like them anymore.
Not much else on the agenda for today. I have things to do but nothing too important. I never did vacuum, and it needs to be done. I want to buy a light weight cordless vac. Probably a little irk that’s kind of important because I need money. What I really want to do is take a nap.
The cat is being a pest, he is so jealous of any attention I give to the dog. I swear animals are worse than kids sometimes.
Last night I was supposed to go out and be social but events intervened and I wasn’t.
I’m 99.9% finished with the fairy cross-stitch I’ve been working on for the last several years. All I need is some beads.
I dusted and vacuumed. We went to the little bar down the road for N.O.L. and now I have a load of laundry in the washer. Methinks I shall do all the laundry today and achieve mowage one day this next week. I also need to spray some more weed killer in the back yahd.
Yep, I’m home again.
Yay for Swampy being home.
Boo for BigKitty missing her fete.
Yay for Midget and her night out.
I was running a fever of 103 last night. I remember stumbling around, holding the wall so I wouldn’t fall over on the way to the bathroom. This morning, no fever. :smack: No idea what that was. Not fun at the time, hopefully gone.
Having coffee, then I must tidy something. A token gesture at least. My MiL really does arrive today.
Went to the plant sale at the High School greenhouses this morning. Got some 'maters and stuff. No eggplants this year though. Wifey likes 'em. I’d rather have peppers, but nobody cares what I like.
Wifey is gone out doing real estate stuff, and I’m here pondering what to do with my day. I should clean something up, like the garage, or the upstairs back bedroom. sigh
My youthful enthusiasm has left me.
Today is World Naked Gardening Day!So if the weather is hospitable, and you have the environment, get out there and tend some plants nekkid!
It’s drizzly and 57°F - not that I’d garden nekkid if it was balmy and sunny. I get enough cuts and scratches on what’s exposed as it is. I certainly can’t risk poison ivy anywhere near my delicate areas!
Jeans are done and hung in their respective closets. Shirts and socks are in the dryer. **FCD **is napping. All is quiet at FairyChatEstates!
Why don’t you get a few pepper plants for you?
Laundry is done. OYKW has arisen from nappage. It has been decided pizza shall be dindin. Oh and I made coleslaw to go along with the ham tomorrow. I am most definitely in back home mode.
If I threatened to do yahd irk nekkid, maybe the neighbors would pay me not to do so.
Would you have a meter like taxis, or put your hat down like street singers?
Obligatory pics of Swampy’s neighbor’s cat
I had a little time this morning between things so the plan was to drive to the gym, use the path, go in & get changed & onto next event. However, driving there, I had to cross the path. I have been on both ends, but never the middle. I park the car & start down the path about one mile to the part I’ve never been on. It rained yesterday, like 1-2" worth. The trail was a bit damp but not too bad. I cross the into the part I’ve never been on before &…insta-swamp.
I went less than 50 yards before throwing in the towel (since I didn’t have proper footwear) & turning back.
Taz has taken The List to a whole new level. He peed on a throw pillow, and it also got the seat and back cushion of the sofa. The pillow is going in the garbage. I used the carpet/upholstery cleaner on the sofa cushions, and near as I can tell, the urine smell is gone. I hope. Stoopit cat.
If this continues, his days will be numbered. No one will adopt a cat that pees everywhere and I’m not going to live with it. I don’t know if it’s because he’s getting older (he’s about 12) or what the deal is, but I’m getting close to my limit.
Stoopit cat.
Pizza has been ingested. Life is good. That is all.
Breakfast casserole has been built, and we’ll have a yummerific morning meal with minimal effort.
It’s rained a bit, and it’s quite chilly and dreary. On the plus side, the fans have dried the cushions, huzzah huzzah. At least on the surface they’re all dry. We’ll leave the fans running overnight to be sure.
We’ve also talked about replacing the living room furniture. I think we both decided shortly after we bought it that we really don’t like it all that much. So we’ll take a little more time shopping for the replacement set. Not that it affects me a lot - I mostly sit on the old recliner.
And on that note, I shall continue chillage.
I went on a beer run, walked Gordie, and made dinner(Baked fried chicekn, roasted paprika potatoes, and green beans with bacon, onions, and pepper). Other than that I have slothed. And for once, I’m good with that.
big kitty, according to my great niece when she was like six, no project is complete until there’s bling: rhinestones, glitter, sequins, beads or all of the above.
Isn’t it good to be home swampy?
Poe, if I tried nekkid gardening, the sheriff’s deputy who lives in my complex would likely be summoned.
The craft group went well. One friend and I completed our Mother’s day cards, another beaded two bracelets and the fourth made a necklace/earrings set. We visited and did a tea complete with little sandwiches and everything, so it was just as much social.
Supper was baked perch and cherry tomatoes with herbs from the patio, quinoa with mushrooms and spinach and the four strawberries that were left from this afternoon.
Now to finish the last two cards that I started.
Has a vet checked him over? He might be trying to tell you something other than that he’s a bratty pain in the tail.
I’ve got 6 boneless chicken breasts baking because I bought too much food and can’t fit all of it into the freezer. If the dog won’t eat it, I will. Just not sure what I a going to do with it yet.
I’m very annoyed at scammers today, I have gotten two text messages and about 5 phone calls. I was napping and one of the calls woke me up.
More like:
An old bull and a young bull were standing on top of a hill. The young one say “lets run down to the pasture and have our way with one of the heifers.” The old one replies “lets walk down and have our way with ALL of them”.
I have mentioned I’m aged right?
Kennywood was great; seriously no lines. In 4 hours we had fun until we were tired of having fun. The employees may have outnumbered the guests. Great for us and since its only opening day I don’t feel too bad for the park. Tomorrow looks to be more of the same but 125 or so miles away.
