Merry Month of May in the MMP!

Sari I pretty much always get whatever I’m eating on my shirt. I should just wear a bib. 'Tis very annoying. Try scrambled eggs with Sah-dog. When my pup had cancer, it was all he would eat. I could sneak his pills into it too. Any chance the meds or the mouth condition are making him nauseous? Maybe something to ask the vet about.

It’s been rainy in my area. And there’s rain as far as the farthest weather forecasts can predict.
I plan to go to the family home tomorrow. As far as I can tell, it’s safe from the floods (hope I didn’t just jinx it) though I may walk around a while and see what the floods look like.

I was supposed to go out tonight but a stupid GPS and a torrential rainstorm conspired against me. :frowning:

Aaaaaalllll byyyyy myyyseeeeeeeeeelllllllllffffff…

Enjoy your weekend away butters. I hope the hubster gets his head out of his toucas by the time you get home.

Mooooom, is FCD’s company hiring? It sure sounds like they could use someone with inventory management experience (like me).

metal mouse, if you go through Nashville going to or from Knoxville, give me a holler. I’d be happy to share a meal with you. (ask ruble or doggio for references :stuck_out_tongue: )

sari, I always pilled dogs with a mini PB sandwich. The peanut butter makes it tough for them to spit the pill out.

I’ve only ever had one fish since the county fair goldfish of childhood. When my great niece and nephew were kids, one Christmas, they wanted to get me a puppy. Their mama explained that I couldn’t have a dog or cat where I lived. Then they wanted to get me a bird. My niece told them that birds indoors ooked me out (true). So they bought me a beta about the color of the blue trip bear. I named him Jerry Garcia and had him until burial at sea a couple of years later.

I went to the Mexican bakery this evening to pick up cookies for Crafting with the Heathens at my house tomorrow and empanadas to take to my SIL’s Sunday (she’s still dealing with some of the after effects of cancer treatment and doesn’t get out much right now). Then I got pupusas to go from the El Salvadoran place next door (two pupusas, the slaw and sauce for the top were less than $6). This one is going on the regular rotation.

Does rain follow you around?

That wasn’t the one I got dirty. I only cleaned the one I got dirty.

Even with the Stray Lambs I’m keeping for now I could maybe give everything a good cleaning in a day. A loooooong day. Maybe.

Did I ever mention the Stray Lambs before? Since I didn’t get a car license until I was 21 (a different long story involving an MG-B and a huge rock) I went a lot of places on my motorcycle where it wasn’t always advisable to sling something in a saddle scabbard even back then; if for no other reason than the rain and snow. So I had stashes with various cousins and uncles around the state. None in NY. Absolutely none. Trust me.

Anyway, now that everyone is older and moving downsize or passing away, all this stuff I forgot I owned is coming home to roost. Flintlocks, Marlin hammered pump shotguns ---- all kinds of odd things. Every trip east it seems something else comes home with me. Yeah – I should of kept a logbook but I was young. Some I’m keeping and some is maybe time to pass along. But it makes for an interesting mess in the safes.

Until my houseboat sinks, of course.

Old inside Doper joke

Weather for the weekend is supposed to be cold and rainy. My desire to go to the amusement parks has doubled! NO LINES!!!

An English shepherd, a French shepherd and…kopek…are sitting on a hill looking at their sheep in the valley below.
The English shepherd remarks, “It is so beautiful here, with the sheep meandering about. It puts me in a romantic mood. I wish my wife were here.”
The French shepherd says, “Yes, it is quite romantic. I wish my mistress were here.”
Kopek says, “I wish it was dark”.

I had a short(:dubious:) eight hour day, followed by a three hour nap. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, I had margaritas, margarita chicken with 3 cheese sauce, saffron rice, and corn, tomatoes, and black beans with jalapenos and cilantro. Watching hockey, and drinking a Downtime

Bolding mine. Need a butler? But deep breathe and think it over before you do anything.

True. She knows good places, is good company, and the axe wounds heal pretty quick.

Santa Maria! I completely forgot it was Cinco de Mayo! In my defense, my Latina MiL says that actual Mexicans don’t celebrate it. Still… :smack:

I wouldn’t have been so upset if it hadn’t been for I’d only had the shirt on for about 5 minutes.

I can try scrambled eggs and see how that goes.

He ate almost nothing tonight and he is getting weaker. Then I was reading that some of what is going on can be side effects from the lasic. Weakness and loss of appetite, but when I talked with the vet yesterday he told me it’s just the progression of the disease. Lasic can mess with electrolytes, so maybe he needs a blood test for that.
I don’t know what to do because taking him back to the vet could stress him enough to kill him. It just seems weird to me that he was doing so well on Moonday and Toosday, and now he is worse than he was to start with.
If he is still alive in the morning we’ll go get some pedialyte and see if that helps him to feel better.

Chicken broth maybe? Pedialyte is usually sweetened and I don’t know if animals like that. I did some checking on line. It looks like you can try it.

Here’s a home version you can try, as well:

My friend the videographer says it’s not a meal until you are wearing some of it.

My experience with Furosemide is I tend to get short of potassium. Does he like bananas?

Actually, our company (I work for the same firm, different department) has outstanding inventory management, configuration management, and most other kinds of management. We do a lot a contracting work for the Navy and the company in San Antonio is also a Navy contractor. They’re screwed up and the admiral here who holds their contract wanted our company to go straighten them out. Did you follow that?

In any event, the Texas company has asked that the admiral hold off while they bring in a new manager or something, so **FCD **won’t be going next week, but may have to go later in the month. He’s (temporarily) relieved and we shall just wait to see what happens.

There’s a Maritime Festival in Solomons today and I’d like to go if the weather holds. I’ve also got some more laundry to do. **FCD **brought some work home - better here than at the office I’m thinking. Poor guy. He’s just frazzled on his current project. I finished a shawl last night and my yarn stash is shrinking - I may be able to squeeze out one more shawl, then finish up with hats and scarves. Slowly but surely…

Meanwhile, it’s overcast and very windy. We went from summer to late winter within a week. But, no, there’s no climate change… :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Saturday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 76 and N.O.S. for the day. The big plan today is some yahd irk. I shall weed and possibly accomplish mowage. I have a ham in the slow cooker for Sunday Brunch at the church house tomorrow as well. Da cave itself is not as ick as it could be but needs a good spiffin’. I foresee that on Moanday. Rah.

I have not read and caught up yet but I promise to later. For now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, yahd irk awaits!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Went to see my friend’s performance at the artsy hipster cafe last night. Good times.

I went out and weeded what needed weedin’. Didn’t take too long so yay for that. I may mow later on. Or not. Too wet right now. I could do some cave cleanin’ but don’t want to right now. I’m takin’ it relatively easy over the next few days. Things will get done when they get done.

{{{Sari}}} here’s hopin’ Sah-dawg is doin’ better this mornin’.

Up and caffeinating.

There’s a load of sheets and towels in the washer and the bed has been stripped and remade. I need to move the kitchen table into the studio for this afternoon and make some snacks for the meet up. Little tea sandwiches, strawberries and cookies should suffice.

We had breakfast, then went to FCD’s office so he could get some work to do at home. I just finished vacuuming and wiping down the inside of the Sonata - the pollen has mostly been removed, so yay! Then I used the pressurized air to blow out the vacuum cleaner and the small wet/dry vac.

Guess I should get on the laundry. Yeah. I’ll get right to that.

Both Thursday’s and Friday’s soccer practice was rained out, and today’s games were canceled as the field are soaked; of course, it’s bright and sunny (albeit about 56F) today, so the kids are disgruntled, wondering why they can’t play. Good lesson in life not being fair.

Went to see Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol 2 yesterday, if you liked the first one I think you’ll like this one even more, and if you didn’t see the first one, you can figure things out without too much trouble. Not for deep thinking, but a good space-opera flick.

And now I crave sustinance, back later.
