Remember, they also need housing. Skulldigger has found one of those housing units where you pay rent according to your income. She says it is a surprisingly nice area. It would be the first time that Poly and Skull had lived in a decent home for many many years.
D and I will send some bucks as soon as we are able! Just because I’m in a temporary slump doesn’t mean we cannot contribute something. Is there a mailing address?
One point to make is there is not a good car for that magical amount sitting there for purchase. One has to be found and reality doesn’t usually meet estimates. One that doesn’t need repairs the next month might not be around for $2,000.
And in this economy people who would have let go a car and bought a new one might be hanging onto their cars to squeeze a little more mileage out of them, so the used-car market may be tighter. Any additional dollars beyond purchase price, tax, title, and license could be put into a tune-up and what is almost certain to be necessary maintenance.
I’ll forego the frittata pan I had my eye on. Best of luck to Polycarp and family. Thanks Liberal for lettings us know and thanks Hal Briston for co-ordinating.
Yep. Give him time to login and all that, read the whole thread (he is naturally going to want to know how it got started and to read the words of encouragement and pledges of prayer). And most of all, give him time to compose. This is going to be a tough one for him.
