Michael Flynn's Shining City on the Hill - For Christians Only

Was that the road trip where Mark helped some farmers organize a protest?

I don’t remember for sure. They were on the way to the Republican Convention in Miami Beach and so was I. Don’t recall seeing them there though.

I’m assuming that’s Rizzo. I moved to Philly long after he was mayor. My strong impression is that the man was a racist thug, Judge for yourself Frank Rizzo - Wikipedia

I lived in the Philly area during Frank Rizzo’s mayoralty, and your impression is 100% correct, although it fails to take into account his accompanying dishonesty, incompetence, homophobia, and a raft of other unpleasant disqualifications for public service.

His frequent malapropisms, immortalized in The Sayings of Chairman Frank; or, I Never Saw My Mother Naked, did sometimes provide a little comic relief. I am proud to report that I myself observed a Rizzoism in the wild, during televised remarks in which he described himself as being “360 degrees opposed” to some other politician’s position on something.

There was a Doonsebury Trump cartoon way before he even became President. As I remember it, Trump hired someone to paint a copy of part of the Sistine chapel, in one of his rooms. The bathroom if I remember correctly. It was to be the central image, of God giving life to Adam. Trump was upset because the painter got the faces wrong, using Trump as Adam, when he’d wanted it the other way around.

Trump was appearing in Doonesbury decades before his presidency.

Joan, Jr. was the artist. That was a central part of the collection Give Those Nymphs Some Hooters!

Thank you for finding that!

Bloom County, too.

As Bill the Cat. Totally in keeping with his dignity.

Remember the article said that Trump promised to re-recruit Flynn. That’s practically a guarantee that it will never happen.

With regard to Trump and Doonesbury, I always think of these strips:
