Misfits of the SDMB

I have never watched a full episode of The Simpsons.

I never learned how to read.

Breaking News, Breaking News: I don’t believe in tradition, especially with regard to social issues.

BTW, I am proud to report that on a couple of other boards I go by the username “misfit”.

I’m addicted to romance novels (like bubblegum for the brain)

I love champagne and I hate beer.

I like opera.

Wait a minute…How do you read the boards?

or are you one of ‘them’ in here making fun of the misfits?

I work at a nuclear power plant.
I drive a Camaro.
I think British comedy is hilarious.
I like Spandau Ballet.

I think I fit in here OK.

 Damn you! To keep myself from an hysterical outburst, I had to stifle the laughter in my hand, thus making a sound which would lead my co-workers to believe I had Taco Bell for lunch.

I am not a gamer, either role-playing or stuff like Doom, Lara Croft, etc.

I am actually somewhat conservative (though much less than 5-6 years ago.)

I have never read LotR either, though I read The Hobbit years ago. Even worse, I didn’t like the second LotR movie, and thought the first was only so-so.

I enjoy Star Trek, yet I also get laid on occasion.

Never been to a Dopefest, which is my own fault.

I don’t listen to music groups whose stuff is never played on the radio. If it hasn’t made the Billboard Top 40, I haven’t heard it and I don’t care

I’m in for SURE now!

IMHO, Karen Carpenter had the finest female singing voice of the 20th Century, and Nat King Cole had the finest male singing voice.

I have never read ANYTHING by Tolkien.

I enjoy Star Trek, but wouldn’t be caught dead in a Starfleet uniform and/or at a convention.

Rush Limbaugh is too far left for my political tastes.

George W. is doing a great job.

Did I make it?

When I cry, my tears are ice cubes.

I am skeptical of your professed nuclear power plant work. :dubious: It’s pronounced nuc-you-lur. Our president is the cheif arbitor of grammatical “correctedness.”

I am not a misfit by the ops definition. Carry on.

Never read LotR either; I think I tried to in high school and got bored and quit. I saw the first movie, liked it OK, but I’m kind of instinctively turned off by the dragons-elves-fairies-wizards genre. It’s a personal failing, I know.

I watch NASCAR. At home. Alone.

I drink macrobrews. I listen to country music and drive a pickup truck, and I’d probably fistfight someone who was mean to my dog.

Oh, and that stupid cat food joke wasn’t even funny when I saw it on the original Simpsons episode. Man, it feels good to say that.

I hated the LOTR movie so much I left in the middle of it.

I’m Republican.

I like a lot of mainstream pop artists (Avril Lavgne, NSYNC) because they’re still good (Good = not sleazy) influences on todays youth, regardless of real v. percieved ability, etc. I can’t automatically hate someone just because they’re popular.

I’m not letting y’all name my baby.

I had a unique dream… that one where you’re running through the high school, naked as a…naked thing.
…Thing was, apparently I didn’t care. Just pranced through and flashed the whole damn school, and they all joined me in nudist escapades. I think I woke up smiling. :D:)

(I quoteth Jester):

Hmm. Something is telling me that statement belongs here.
[sub]grumbles Ice cubes…pah. You people, always strutting around like pigeons…:p[/sub]

I didn’t say I was proud of it. Especially since that bastard reindeer only took one ice-cube-tear misfit with him. I just got left here to rot.

I watch anime, my current favorite being a cutsie hamster show called “Hamtaro”.
I read mangas, my favorite to date being Sailor Moon.
I like to hang out in the bookstore and tease the booksellers.
In my free time, one of my favorite activities is sitting on the bench outside of A&F and making fun of the pseudo-cheerleaders who buy clothes there.
I wear black.And heavy makeup.And chains.
But I’m redneck on the inside.
I long for a battered old pickup truck with a gunrack and a sawed-off to go with it.
I used to think having fun meant getting semi-drunk and going cow tipping.
I once dressed up as a cowgirl for Halloween.
I love Dubya.

Count me in the Misfit club.I was a misfit before the word meant anything.

Oh and did I mention my favorite song is called ‘Never Trust a Kligon’ by SPOCK?
Ok…it’s my second favorite. My favorite is Data’s Little Life form song from STTNG.

Does that make me a misfit or what?

This doesn’t just make you a misfit. It makes you a crime against humanity. I pity you.

I did like LotR, but I haven’t read Robert Jordan. I’m a conservative Republican, a practising Catholic. I think monogamy (and marriage) are good things and that sexual excess is immoral. I don’t watch The Simpsons, King of the Hill or Beavis and Butthead. I don’t own a vibrator and I’ve never looked at porn.

StG

I giggle. A lot.

Um, lessee.

I read all that Tolkien stuff ages ago, and I honestly can’t remember a thing that happened. :o But I remember loving reading those texts.

I thought the movie version of LOTR was terrible, even though the dude playing Legolas is hot. But then this shouldn’t surprise anyone who knows me since I’m hypercritical of films, particularly films that are remakes of books.

I far from aced my SATs, which I think is absolutely hilarious, and if I had it to do over again, I still wouldn’t study for that damn test, which I think is a bunch of hooey. I think I’d probably do worse on the SATs if I were to take them again knowing what I know now just on principle.

I like the band Creed too, but then I’m not familiar with all these other bands who way back when do the same style of music they do, and from what I hear do it far better than Creed does.

I’m a computer jinx.

[innocent eyes]

Do I make misfit status.
