Thank you for clarifying. Now, I will clarify that I am a dork.
A food thing, huh? Never heard of it.
How is that pronounced? And what is it?
Umm, I always pronounced it as “main-jeh-tout” I’m not very cultured
You mean it does not refer to angry sodium?
From Food Dictionary:
mange-tout
[mawnzh-TOO]
French for “eat everything,” referring to a bean or pea, such as the SUGAR SNAP PEA, where everything — pod to seed — is edible.
Of course, Mangetout can correct me if Google has led me astray here.
I know how to pronounce Mangetout but not how to describe in writing how to say it. The best I can do is tell you is that the Mange part has a short ‘a’, like ‘ah’, and the ‘g’ is soft. Tout is pronounced Toot. It’s French for “Eat all.” I’ve heard that French is supposed to be a logical language but my humble opinion is that they’re nuts. Umm, just kidding, French dudes.
Now, on to my name. Too many folks believe I have an affinity for Polynesian gods, torches, huts, bars and the like. My name isn’t pronounced Tee-kee; it’s pronounced Tikki, which rhymes with, well, picky.
Thank you for your time.
It’s not so much my name being misunderstood, as it is me being mistaken for:
Lolagranola
LolaCocaCola
and NinjaChick.
le sigh
My name isn’t loopy 'cos I’m crazy. I’m good at tying knots.
Trust me.
Saturnine, you beat me to the post and did it much better than I.
undefined[Homer Simpson] Sugar snap peas…ummmmmmm! [/Homer Simpson]
That thar is French, that is.
Am not a furry.
User name refers to Cat-6 UTP.
Yes, I love cats. That is not why I have this user name, though. It’s due to my geekness.
my name isn’t kris, and I’m not russian. the word is, however. It means rat catcher. I’ve never caught a rat but I’ve caught dozens of squirrels and a snake.
Although some people here might think I need one, Zombiesatemybrain** isn’t ** meant as a pathetic excuse for the quality of my posts. [like, Duh, I wish I could say something brilliantly witty here, but I’m the pathetic victim of an attack by brain devouring zombies. sob.]
I nicked the name from Phil South’s movie - see http://www.ii3d.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/zombies/greenblood.html. It’s also the first part of my e-mail address, and the way I feel every morning when I’ve just woken up.

Imagine if Kung Fu Zombie Bastards from Hell ate your brain!
matt_mcl is pronounced “Matt Mick-ELL”. Just like my last name except with an L instead of the last part.
Some people get the impression that my username implies arrogance and self-love. Actually, I don’t love myself too much, it’s just such a fun palindrome!
I love palindromes!
Does anyone ever ask you if you’re one of those people who deliberately has sex with HIV-positive people in order to contract the disease (generally called “bug chasers,” technically).
And if you are one of those people … uh, had any luck yet?
Oh, they tried, but they were too late, poor things - the other Zombies had already dined.
They just did a few practice Kung Fu kicks to my head, and then headed off to find Tony Blair instead. I heard they had his brain for dinner and Cherie’s for dessert.
I always assumed that matt_mcl had some kind of life altering knee surgery.
And picker does not refer to my nose, but my guitar and mandolin. i’m a bluegrass musician. (amateur these days, i work on the business side of the industry now)

I have to become accustomed to the open manner of thinking on the SDMB–you know, asking these things rather than questioning but ultimately accepting them as being unknowable.
Mine is what I thought to be a pleasing taxonomic phrase I spied while at the Bronx Botanic Gardens, one of my favorite haunts.
Also, I do wear a lot of orange.
Thanks!
Some posters have opined that I might be old and, er, creaky; but I am actually young (ish) and so far non-arthritic.
The fact that I love hanging out with people over 70 and scowling at crazy young whippersnappers in their rolled stockings and raccoon coats has absolutely nothing to do with the name under which I post. Honest.
