Misunderstood Usernames

For the longest time, I thought Mangetout was Magnet out.

:smack:

Anyway, if the Parisian pronounciation is too hard, might I suggest the Quebecois pronounciation: “mowzh-too”.

No, despite what you may have heard, I am not a Brian.

Just kidding. Not really a Jedi, and have contemplated a name change, but decided against it (although #straightdopers know me as BrianJ).

Well, all that I can say is that I am glad that (unlike the rest of you weirdoes) my username is 100% clear and unambiguous. :stuck_out_tongue:

You’re Borg, right? Or maybe one of the aliens from Close Encounters? :smiley:

I am not a disease, nor am I named after a disease. I’m pretty sure I was “Loopus” on the internet before I had ever heard of lupus.

Y’know, I’m not always real quick on the uptake, but somehow, I’ve always known this. Maybe it’s because my username is first name, last initial, so I read yours kind of like that, too.

flodnak doesn’t mean anything in Norwegian, either.

I am not named after the-Artist-formerly-known-as-Prince’s song Annie Christmas.

I am named after Andrew Lloyd Webber & Jim Steinman’s “Whistle Down The Wind”'s song Annie Christmas. Cause my name has an “Anne” and I was born on December 25th, and I was collecting ALW cast CDS long before the show came out and damned near dropped dead when I saw the song list for the show.

Actually I assumed Mangetout was a person who tried to solicit customers for a skin disease afflicting canines.
Which always seemed kind of odd to me…

One night long ago, I saw the movie Ravenous. Thought it was great (I love any movie with the “ewww factor”).

Shortly thereafter I had to make a name on the computer for something else. I picked Ravenous.

When signing up on this forum, I wanted to be distinctly female. I had read enough of that NurseCarmen and EddyTeddyFreddy to realize I really wanted to be known as the lady that I am. I also had to tiptoe around at least 2 others on this board with a variation of raven… in their name.

I am also always ravenous. The name fits. So, seems we have at least 2 hungry people posting here. :slight_smile:

I don’t dance. Don’t ask me.

Well…don’t.

WOW. Synchronicity.

It took awhile before before I realised what Sofa King, really meant.

But I’m dimwitted and slow, so that’s just par for the course.

You mean he isn’t the world’s No. 1 soft furnishing salesman??? Shucks!!!

“Good furniture! Great prices! Our prices aren’t just great, they’re Sofa King great!!!”

Yeah, yeah, that’s it!

When I heard it in that context before, I had to smack my head for being so dense.:smack:
I just wish I wasn’t holding that a fork at the time.

On various MB’s people have thought my name is Lobelia OverKILL

My name hasn’t been misconstrued as offensive, but people have emailed me asking me what it meant.

It’s my keyboard. On a QWERTY keyboard, the home row is ASDF JKL;

On a Dvorak, it’s AOEU HTNS

AOEU was taken, so I went with HTNS.

I am a calm Kiwi not a calm fruit.

A Kiwi is one of two things;

A) a Bird

B) a person from New Zealand

A kiwifruit is always a kiwifruit. Just like a grape and a grapefruit are not the same same thing, a kiwi and a kiwifruit are not the same thing.
