**Li-Li, **go for it. If he’s expressing an interest, then follow through.
You’ll have setbacks. That’s just the nature of things, but it will happen.

Exactly. Besides, I’m going on a road trip to Etlanter on Sunday, to watch the Canes play. That’s not work.
Yay for roofing, MMMMoooommmmmm!
LiLi, go for it. Of course my idea of potty training is “take em’m outside, and pat them on the head when they whizz on the dumpster.”
Today is Roof Day! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
When I took the dogs out this morning, I noticed there’s still some snow up there in the back. No biggie - they’ll either knock it to the ground before they start, or it’ll come off as they’re stripping the old roof. Either way, not my problem. All I have to do is write a check when they’re done. After all the do-it-yourself stuff we did, I like this contractor stuff.
Handy tip - doggie doo is easy to rake up when it’s frozen. I finally got around to cleaning up the little piles that accumulated under and around former snow piles, and it was really easy using the rake and the snow shovel. There’s still one long mound that I can see encases at least 2 more deposits, but I think I got the rest cleaned up. And now that the yard is almost back to normal, I can walk the dogs in the woodsy parts where their leavin’s are out of the way and can decompose back to mother nature. So yay for that.
In other news, it’s official. **FCD **has to have yet another spinal surgery. It’ll probably be in the next month or two. Which means our vacation is off. I can deal with that, really. I was looking forward to it, but I’ll just spend that time at home instead. What worries me is that this is probably just another in a series of operations. They’ll fuse the 2 vertebrae together, but that’ll put added stresses on the adjacent ones, requiring a future fusing…
There is a disk replacement surgery - we need to look into it more. His orthopedist claims it’s not covered under insurance in this country - we need to do some research. And ask his other surgeon.
But, we are getting a new roof, so there’s that. Yay!
Off to caffeinate.
Oh yeah, and I’ll take the next MMP unless someone else has already volunteered.
Woohoo - roof guys are here!
I’m awake! Although, I’m not sure why as it wasn’t that long ago that I went to bed. I was watching a movie while I was working and then finished working but the movie was still going so of course I had to keep watching. It turned out to be a sad movie, which I normally don’t watch, but nonetheless it was pretty good. It was called The Angry Man.
My day is sort of on hold until I hear from GilaMonster because we’re doing a new craft project together and I’m waiting for her to finish her part which was supposed to be done on Thursday.
I found out that my step-grandmother passed away the other day. I never met her, though, and I guess she hated anyone having anything to do with my grandfather’s previous life. I’m not sure why I’m even mentioning it because we never talk to my grandfather much either. I don’t even think I’ve seen him in at least 5 years, but probably more than that. He made it clear through words and actions a long time ago that he wasn’t interested in his ‘old’ family, especially those of use who are overweight.:rolleyes:
Oh well.
FCM, glad to hear that you’re getting a new roof. Sorry that FCD has to have another surgery.
Roise, hope you’re having a good time on your trip.
Doggio, I’m glad that you get to take a road trip to Atlanta. You deserve it.
**Buns **- families are weird, aren’t they? I’m guessing that’s because they’re made up of people and people, in general, are weird. Unless they’re Mumpers - then they’re cool.
When I was young, I used to think we were *the *typical family, whatever that is. Then as I got older and started learning family secrets, I figured out we were just as screwed up as anyone else. The Cleavers do not exist, except in reruns. But if you’re a decent person, you do what you gotta do and try to live a good life. And try to have a sense of humor, because there’s no other choice.
Ziva is upset by all the de-roofing noises. She’s hiding under our bed. Taz is trying his darndest to escape. The dogs are sleeping - nary a bark from either of them. Life at FairyChatEstates…
Heh, FCM, that philosophical statement on families deserves to be embroidered or calligraphied or otherwise memorialized. Cuz really, families ARE weird.
I’m up, have the first load in the washer and have had breakfast: pita + refried beans + cream cheese + ham + salsa + avocado + cilantro + spinach. Yum.
I need to clean clean clean, shred shred shred, launder launder launder and also go to a pot luck at 3. Not sure what I’m taking yet.
Off to do stuff.
Hugs.

Blurf. Bambilance tale coming…****
When using a bolt cutter, you should always wear a bra.
Buns, I’m afraid to even ask!
FCM, yay on the new roof! I’m sorry FCD has to endure yet another surgery. Back problems are the major suckage.
Finally, yes families are weird. Honest to God, I don’t think I’ve ever known a single “Cleaver” family.
I’ve got chores that need doing.
Tonight, we’re supposed to go to our friends’ home for dinner and 99. They also want us to bring our dog. They love our Cap’n. They have dogs themselves and it’s not unusual for our other friends to bring their dogs along to this home.
This would be the first time Cap’n will have gone. I’m a little nervous and hope he behaves. Sometimes he does really well, but sometimes he gets a little excited. We shall see.
Oh, yeah, I was going to say how sorry I was to hear that there was another surgery on the horizon. I know back surgeries are improving and changing all the time. Hope he gets some lasting relief soon.
Add me to the “I don’t think I want to know” list, Pie. But, do tell!
Am making brownies. From a mix, but with added coconut. I’m going to top them with orange cream cheese icing and some additional coconut and chocolate. Inspired by these over here. We’ll see how they turn out.
Third load of laundry is in the washer, recycling is contained. Gotta get moving on the shredding, I think.

Evening all. Anyone know an online store (international shipping not essential) where I can buy chipotles in adobo? They don’t exist here!
Dinner tonight was Buttermilk Oatmeal Pancakes and they were very tasty, even if HRH only ate barely half of one before flouncing off because she really wanted chips and I told her chips are not an appropriate dinner food.
Back to work tomorrow. Sigh …
Roise’s sig to all. My (almost) 3 year old is giving me a headache!
Buns, wasn’t the knife enough? :dubious:
**FCD **got a new Bubble Anemone yesterday and the clownfish has adopted it! In the wild, clownfish feed anemones. Ours wasn’t interested in the purple tip anemone, but he seems to really like the new bubble. It’s really cool to watch him snuggle down in there. The anemone stings other fish, but they have a symbiotic relationship with clownfish.
The noise above continues. I’ve cut out a sheetrock patch for the kitchen ceiling. **FCD **is searching for a plywood scrap I can use to install the patch. The ceiling is textured, so I don’t have to worry about a perfectly smooth patch. I can have fun with it. Yay!
This seems to be a popular source for all kinds of Mexican grocery ingredients. Pancakes sound yummy. And similar to a recipe I have that adds toasted hazelnuts. Haven’t made that in a while.
Brownies are cooling. Going to tackle cleaning the front door now, just for a change of pace.

FCM Sucks on the surgery - heres to a speedy recovery for FCD
Buns what are you doing - you need to take care of the ta-tas not injure them!
Today was another lazy/recover from the snot bug from hell kinda day. I might venture out to the movies tomorrow but that is it.
I have no idea what to get mr ems for his birthday and he is being less than cooperative “to have you home” is all he keeps saying…and the internets have failed me today so I really don’t know what to get him and I am normally great with the presents!
Ems—simple!
You
Bow
Thats it!
Hi Vorlon!!! How’s it going?
Brownies are done. Got lazy and just frosted them with melted chocolate chips with a little butter and then sprinkled coconut over them.
Front door is clean. Got just about all of the marks off. Yay!
Off to continue de-cluttering, cleaning, etc.
mmmmmmmmmmm I’m horrible at presents, so I’ll just wish you good luck.
Back to being industrious.

Vorlon I did purchase some slinky undies in place of the ‘bow’
I am now drinking bubbly to while away my Saturday evening. In the spirit of using up everything in the cupboards before I move as the movers won’t move food or alcohol to the US it is bubbly tonight and I am making lasagne tomorrow to use up pasta and tomato sauce and herbs and red wine.
But the bubbly is certainly making this evening a good time
Well, I just tripped over my feet and fell face first straight down like a board. But I landed on the squishy parts, so no blood, breaks, or dislocations, and the camera and the iPod survived. I only lost my dignity, but then, where I am this weekend, that’s no big deal
Fun is being had, some poker has been won, and it’s back into the fray I go.
