MMP - a generally crappy Monday

Well, we have a nice new roof. Since we got architectural shingles, they don’t lay flat, and for now, they look all warped. But they’ll settle in place and look less warpy. The dome for the bathroom sun tube is in place, but the installation won’t be finished till the siding guys come in a week or so. And the windows should show up by the end of next week, we think.

The quiet is lovely. Having a roof torn off is a noisy proposition! Poor Ziva is hiding somewhere. The other critters don’t care.

Daughter and SIL are going out to dinner - dunno what we’re going to do. But I’m getting hungry, so we’ll have to decide soon.

Awwww - Ziva just came to me for skritches. She’s chill…

Howdy Y’all! It’s my weekstart!!! WOOHOO!!!

For whatever reason, I could not post last night or this mornin’. I did read but don’t remember much.

Sorry for FCD havin’ to face more surgery.

StickyBuns thanks for the fashion/safety tip. :stuck_out_tongue:

We have been invitated to dine at the, IMO, second best Japanese place in town. I’d rather go to the other one but, hey, I ain’t payin’, so I shall go and chow down.

Later Y’all!

About the same as normal: B as in broken, A as in aww £»╗╟Ü, D as in dropping.
Wife is back in the land of no shoelaces, farmed son off on my mother, and running about to catch up on things pushed off due to weather this week. With no ‘help’ at home, I may be able to make headway cleaning this weekend.

Comng home from a special weekend in NYC. Saw Tim Burton at the MOMA, Judy Collins at the Town Hall and Phantom at the Majestic. Had a tremendous dinner, too.

Hanging on the train waiting to head home.

Am back from outing with #2 son, who has a fever. :frowning: The line to get into the Shedd Aquarium went around the block, so we ended up at the Field…at the mineral exhibit. #2 son likes minerals and meteorites. It was fun, but I’m tired now.

Gorgeous day out–sunny, sunny, sunny and warm–almost 50! Yay.

Saki martinis are da bomb! It’s saki, vodka and a little slice of cucumber. Two made me feel gooooood. Three would have made me feel floor. Plus dindin at the Japanese place was nummy. I had chicken and scallops. MMMMMMMM…

On that note, it’s gettin’ near time for da bear to go sleepy bye. Been up a long time today!

Nitey Nite!

Yay for a new roof, FCM.

Bubbly sounds good mmmmmmmmmm; maybe I’ll have some too.

I was afraid that would be the answer, Alien. Hang in there.

the Field is one of my favorite museums, rigs. It’s up there with the Art Institute in my book. Love the dinosaurs and the mummies.

(I wanna go back to Chicago!)

Had a nice potluck, went to JoAnn’s to see if they had another fake orchid (very nice price and not terribly fake looking), then home to do more laundry, put away dishes, etc. Read for a while and am going to knit for a while now, I think…

Nice quiet evening chez GT.

Hugs.

GT

Blarg.

So I went over my parents’ last night to work on homework while my mom worked on stuff. You know, so we both have company. Got some good drawings done.

Went to taijitsu this morning (so I’ve been twice this week! Woohoo!) Then ran around barefoot outside in the rain while I was waiting for mom to finish talking. Realized then that I had forgotten to put on a bra. Oops. It wouldn’t be obvious during taijitsu since I had a t-shirt and the gi jacket, but I took off the jacket to run around and with the cold… I doubt anyone noticed. But I enjoyed splashing in the little tiny puddles that had already formed. Mom made me wash my feet in the garage though in case I got oil on them from the asphalt.

Did a bit more homework, helped my mom with some computer stuff, came home, did my weights a little while I watched tv, and now I’m here. How is it 6:00 already?

So, I’m 35 years old and I’m hiding in my room because my mother decided to pick a fight with my father. The funny thing is that while she actually has a valid point, she always picks the exact worst thing to say and that makes it 10 times as bad. Don’t get me wrong, nobody is violent, I just don’t need the drama.
No, moving out again is not an option at this point.

The good news is that I get to go to TVLand in the morning!

So sorry about the drama. Can you at least escape to TVLand?

Wanna see something funny?

OMG!

That was funny! We’ll have to try that when we head to the convention next month.:D:D

I have a large bruise on my right boob - so I guess I can now empathize with Sticky.

Take good care of your boobs ladies!

Still no change with boyfriend’s dad. They finally got around to doing the MRI but apparently it didn’t answer any questions.

And unfortunately I’m off to a wake tonight - the grandmother of my best friend from college passed away yesterday. She had to fly in from NYC for the funeral and is landing this evening. It never rains but pours, it seems.

Here’s hoping next week is a better one.

Up early - duh! But I also went to bed early last night - I was asleep before 9!! So I’m feeling pretty good.

We went out to dinner with daughter, SIL, and their friends. We treated, which was no biggie at Salsa’s - six of us had dinner, including tip, for under $70. Now that’s cheap eating. Once we got home, the young ‘uns retreated to the kids’ apartment and **FCD **and I watched some TV and I *almost *finished another little afghan. I’ll get it done today.

We’re going out to breakfast, then to get a b-day card for FIL - he’ll be 80 on the 22nd. The brothers are kicking in to give him a ride in a glider for his b-day. He should enjoy that.

Other than that, today will be laundry day. And patch the kitchen ceiling day. And write up the next MMP day - not sure which of my ideas I’m going to use. They’re all feeling pretty lame at this point. But the sun’s not even up, so lame is expected.

Happy Sunday!!

Up, caffeinated, [del]off to work[/del] ROAD TRIP! Gordie now barks in his sleep.

Oww, Buns and rosie!

Hope things pick up for you, Alien.

The good news is I got some sleep last night; the bad news is Teh Sick is still firmly ensconsed in my sinuses. I may have to blast.

The forecast for today is sunny and 62. w00t!!!

I’ll second that. Have some consideration for your men…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. I just realized that next Sunday we go back to DST. One realizes such things when one looks over at one’s calendar and one notices that one has not changed one’s calendar from February to March yet.

Today is brunch Sunday. I made a big ‘nanner puddin’ and a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea. We’re Episcopalians so it’s ok to drink unsweet tea. Whenever I make a big dish of sump’n to take to church I am possessed with an urge to do my Church Lady impression. It always cracks OYKW up. I live to entertain.

BBBobbio I feel for ya. Ye olde sinuses are buggin’ me too.

Alien here’s hope things look up soon.

Ya know, what with all the lady mumper boob injuries this week, I wonder if I should light a candle and say a special prayer for boob protection. Is there a Patron Saint of boobs?

I just changed mine, too!

Have a good trip Doggio. Try not to injure a boob while you’re out.

I’m just working on waking up and in a little while I’ll head off to TVLand.

StickyBuns I’m glad that I was the catalyst for your calendar changing decision. See kids, good things can come when you admit you are a dumbass who does not change your calendar until a full week has passed in the new calendar. I feel so self-righteous and vindicated! Church Lady would be proud!
