If Lumberman is going to Hahvudd, then we oughta call him Beets…
smitty, that totally rocks! We’ll all send out our good vibes so you get the job!
I am done with 99% of my billing. Still one client (a certain rocky mtn state which shall remain nameless) that I need to pull timesheets and set up a hours spreadsheet for but that’s for to do tomorrow. Almost time to go home now.
And we need to start [del]conning[/del] convincing somebody to do next week’s installment. Y’all be thinkin about it, 'kay?
Burgers for dinner tonite.
Pugs, how do you code a strikethrough?
I"l do next weeks MMP, if I may.
Healing thoughts heading out to all those that need them.
Well, I got to leave work two and a half hours early today, but got home only an hour and a half earlier than usual. The reason? We are having a freaking BLIZZARD! High winds and LOTS of snow. 10-12 inches so far, with lots more to come. (pause for <snerking>) We’ve had a wimpy winter around here so far, and it looks like now we’re getting it all at once. Yuck. I’m glad I don’t have to work again until Monday.
Lessee - you asked first. I say it’s yours.
What say ye, MMPers??
Hokey Dokey.
In a related matter, I vote for Smitty rather than Winny, 'cause in my mind Winny shall foreveer be linked to the lovely Wintermute, and I’m easily confused enough as it is.
Do you know, it’s darned hard to type with big ol’ pretzels strung onto your fingers?
Why do you have… never mind.
Yeah, what happened to Wintermute?
I’m attempting chocolate gingerbread. It’s loosely based on a Nigella recipe. Loosely means I glanced the recipe over, saw I didn’t have half the ingredients, and winged it. It may fail badly. We’ll see. The kitchen is no longer clean.
Since Tupug appears to be out… The magic code is del.
Use the right brackets, and (del)strikethrough(/del) happens.
Use the right brackets, and [del]strikethrough[/del] happens.
You do weird things when you get bored enough.
Let us know how the chocolate gingerbread turns out.
[del]Whoo! Power![/del]
I didn’t know how to do that before.
The chocolate gingerbread is… YUMMY! Very gingery. I think I will make a chocolate ginger ganache glaze thingy.
You are tremendously helpful, as usual, gotti. Thanks again for answering in my IMHO thread earlier, by the way. Although I don’t see that you’ve shown up around here to help with the floor refinishing…
Hope FCD has made it through today with as little pain as possible and that things truly start to look up from here! Good wishes to everyone else who needs 'em.
And, go Drae! We’ll expect regular updates, of course.
Is it just me, or is everyone really bossy in here today?
I’m home, finally (OK, I’ve been home for more than an hour), after a long and very annoying day. Didn’t get much of anything done because I had the joy of getting to put out somebody else’s fire (it’s part of what I do, but it’s one of the most annoying aspects of my job).
Still considering what to have for dinner. I believe it will be accompanied by a nice beer.
More de-clutter and tax prep stuff on tap tonight as well. If I’d been a good do-bee and actually organized all my statements and such as I received them and kept my checkbook up to date, I’d be done by now. I think the end of the tunnel is in sight, but gosh it’s a pain. Is it too late for a New Year’s resolution?
You have no idea how thrilled I am that it’s almost Friday.

Ah, the absolute joy of being me! There are four or five extra people to feed, arriving in about half an hour. I am going to poke through the fridge.
I got no problem with Smitty doing next week’s. You can tell us more abuot Hahvahd
And we have complete confidence in your ability to whip up something fabulous to feed all those extra people! We’ll want to know the menu, of course.

This is our new costume. The Director gets the extra silver trim. The rest of us have no trim, just the sparkles. It’s not really that bright of a red - just the indoor lighting plus flash that makes it look that way
I don’t know if I could be brave enough to do my very own MMP. But you know, sometime it might be fun to try. Perhaps I’ll [del]shove myself in[/del] volunteer next week.
Off to bed! It’s late here!
I have enough floors of my own, thank you!
Next on my dance card is the downstairs powder room. The wall-to-wall fiberglass sink/counter and cheesy oak-ish vanity have been ripped out. As this thing was glued to three walls, wainscot is in the plans to cover the bottom half of the walls. The frehsly-installed toilet comes out temporarily to change the flooring - at least this bathroom didn’t have water damage from a years-old leak out of the toilet.
Then, there’s the kitchen floor, and one more bathroom upstairs that needs a style update. Really, the whole house was a perfect, untouched sample of mid-80’s tract home decor. And I’m touching it with an 8-pound sledge and a Sawzall.
Ok, the thought of gotti rippin’ out and tearin’ up stuff has got me all hot and bothered and it ain’t even eight AM here.
Ok, so Smitty does next week’s MMP and mika does the following week. I’m glad that’s all settled.
rosie that’s one f-aaaaaa-bu-lous singin’ dress you got there!
I feel the need to report that it’s gonna be 76 degrees Amurrkin here today and I’m wearing a short sleeve shirt.
It will be 70 here again today, before the fireworks arrive tonight. Then, snow on the robins and dandylions tomorrow.
You’re safe for now Swampy. This’n is coming from Indiana way, instead of Jawjuh, so I can’t blame you for the bad weather.
