Good morning everyone. I figure I should let you all know I’m about to go to Hartford for today and a good chunk of tomorrow, so I won’t be back until Sunday afternoon.
I don’t think I have great hair, does that preclude great hair sex and/or great sex hair? And Savvy, the real estate market right now is INSANE.
No fair…everyone’s going places… [tantrum mode]I wanna go too!![/tantrum mode]
I’m up, considering what to do today. Need to get the tax stuff finished up as it’s driving me nuts, but I don’t want to make that the center of my weekend, though. Guess I’ll start surfing around to see what my choices are.
It’s actually snowing out a little, but I don’t think it’s actually supposed to accumulate much. It’s looking a bit dusty at the moment; I’m hoping that’s it because I wanna go out and not worry about weather.
I’m not going anywhere - at least, I’m not planning to go anywhere today. It’s cold and grey and unpleasant looking out there. Tomorrow, I’m going to do a little grocery shopping - Shopper’s has crab legs for $4.98/lb - yum!
It’s been a productive morning so far. I helped FCD get washed up and shaved. He has a beard, but he shaves his neck, and the collar against his throat was very uncomfortable. Anyway, he’s all clean with a fresh dressing, and he’s assumed his position on the recliner, remote control in hand. I’ve had breakfast and I finally got around to doing last night’s dishes, except for the greasy pan that I roasted the beef in. It’s soaking in hot, soapy water. Everything else has gone through a dishwasher rinse cycle.
Ya know, I’m thinking Rue just tells us the icky stories so we won’t be jealous of his glamourous job. I suspect the cake is just the tip of the career iceberg. He never mentions happy hours or in-office foot massages or the caterers or the live orchestra instead of Muzak. Yep, I think he’s holding out on us. 'Fess up, Rue!
OK, swampy’s biscuits are in the oven. (is it just me or does that sound just a little bit dirty?)
They were the consistency of drop biscuits when I combined everything, so I just made them that. I used two soup spoons to shape them, thus avoiding any contact with the biscuits and avoiding messy hands and avoiding the messy clean up of surface where the dough was kneaded and/or rolled out. Gotta go make some eggs before the biscuits are done.
Great hair sex is when you have a great new haircut and you’re feeling especially attractive and you take that confidence into the bedroom (or somewhere else) with you.
Great sex hair is when you have just had great, mind blowing, life altering sex and you look in the mirror and yes, baby, you look like you’ve been doing the nasty-if not attended to, everyone else will know you’ve had great sex as well.
This applies to people with longish hair. Maybe grow your hair longish and try it!
Baby-it IS cold outside–it’s -3! Pushing off going downtown until tomorrow when tis warmer.
PS-no-one ever had great hair sex or great sex hair in Hartford. Trust me here.
Biscuits sound yummy! I think I may make biscottie today–I feel all womanly and domestic and warm oven-y. (and yes, GT -it sounds er, suggestive…)
Ah, yes, suggestive is the word I was looking for. It’s Saturday and in my rush to make biscuits I haven’t had my coffee, so I have no vocabulary.
I, too, am positive that Rue is not telling us the whole story. How his colleagues are in awe when he suavely enters the room to perform life-saving procedures, for instance. Also, it seems to me that we have not had a Soupo and Katcha update in quite some time. They’re probably all grown up and in college by now.
Biscuits are yummy. Probably should have added a little more flour so that they’d have a little more shape, but they are yum yum yum. I only made 1/2 a recipe, by the way, which filled a cookie sheet. Made a quick veggie scramble: scallions, real bacon bits, asparagus tips, a little mustard and Tabasco in the eggs. Also yum. Gotta go snag another biscuit.
You know how when you take Pet to the vet and the assistants always say, “I have to go in the back, be back in a minute?”
Well, they aren’t going back there for vitamin shots, nail clippers, towels or similiar-they’re going back there to grab another drink and check out the dancing girls.
I know this because we have the same set up in our nurse’s lounge. (except it’s dancing men).
It’s flurrying - no appreciable accumulation anticipated, and in 2 days, it’s supposed to warm into the 40s and 50s again. I’m thinking I may stoke a fire - it’s kinda chilly in here. Plus I get to play with combustibles - woohoo!
-13 right now. Damned if I’m going outside. We watched the first two eps of Buffy last night. So far, Firefly is winning.
Time for lunch and loafing. I should take a chicken apart, but I think that’s my only chore for today. I want to finish a few books and drink a lot of tea today. That’s the plan.
Just back from a pharmacy run. I did a little on line research and determined that I could help FCD’s throat with a cool mist vaporizor, so off to CVS I went. I also picked up a pack of anesthetic lozenges, in the hope that it would give him some relief.
Despite the snow, the roads were just wet, and by the time I got back, the snowfall had stopped completely. Plus the fire had almost died, so I tossed another log on, set up the vaporizer, and gave him a lozenge. He’s crashed in bed again and I’m having a bowl of raisin bran, because I don’t feel like cooking lunch.
Oh, while I was out and while it was still snowing, I saw 2 guys on a motorcycle. At least I think it was two guys, unless it was a guy with a woman who was about his size. Anyway, motorcycling in the snow. Um, ok…
It’s still cold! There’s like, frozen ground in the back yard. However, the sun is shining and the sky is blue, and it’s Saturday, which is the best day of the week.
I’m going to put on a bit of makeup and nicer pants, then head out to the
Maybe I will meet my dog today! My husband is okay with us finally adopting a dog, so I will check this out.
Remind me to buy some milk while I’m out and about.
That bottle of wine I opened last night after locking all my stuff in the car after finally getting home after the cute guy from BCAA started my car… I seem to have consumed it all before bed. Methinks it’s PMS time. In my defense, it was a slender bottle. And quite nummy.
Eating cornbread with melted 5 year old cheddar. Yum. Have taken chicken apart, and the carcass is in the crockpot. I’m wondering what to make the cooked chicken into- creamed chicken? Chicken in sherry parmesan sauce? Fried rice?
I’m thinking seriously about making some tortiallas to freeze. I think I want some trifle for after lunch dessert.
Glad it got there! I was afraid the chocolate would disintegrate in the mail…hope it’s good.
Chicken in sherry parmesan sauce sounds good to me, Lissla. Probably because it’s cold out. Last time I looked they said it was 15 Merrkun degrees but felt like ). At least it’s sunny and looks pretty. I’ll probably brave the cold for a walk after a while.
GT (Trav?) glad you liked the biscuits. They are so simple to make. Rebo whomp biscuits are ok sometimes. I do like those Grands. Now, if you had really wanted to make that sound dirty GT (Trav?) you could have said you buttered swampy’s biscuits.
Good to hear that FCD is moving on in the recovery. If he re-commandering the remote, he’s well on the way!
Y’all remember me being all excited about buying a new sofa bed for my study? Well, it didn’t work out. They couldn’t get the dang thing through the hallway to the study. Stoopid narrow hallway! So, I am now the owner of a new futon from Sam’s Club. Maybe I can find a picture of it later. I went after work yesterday and bought it. We put it together last night in only one hour! It’s purty and has keee-yooote accent pillows. Four of 'em even.
Tonight, a friend is having us over for homemade lasagna. YUM! She makes good lasagna, so my tummy is all excited about going.
