MMP: It's a FairyChatMom Birthday with Buttermilk Biscuits!

maybe we could meet at a game this year? maybe make a dopefest out of it?

Sounds like a plan. But it’ll be a while before I’ll know when I’m going to be home this summer. Home is 20 miles from NYC, so that’s when I’d be able to go. You’ll hear about it in some future MMP, because it’ll be a consequence of me getting into some internship, which will make me very happy.

wallflower according to a friend of mine, if it has a certain appendage it’s my type. He’s so lewd, crude and socially unacceptable! Course then that’s why he’s such a close friend.

ACBG just left. He has a bunch of paperwork to do. I made a quick supper for both of us. We had salmon patties, english peas and smashed taters (but N.O.T.). picu I showed him the cheesecake recipe and did sad puppy dog eyes at him. He says it looks good but it’s gonna take more than that from me to get one. We shall see.

Being as I am a proud owner of a FCM original piece of ceramic art, I know you lucky winners are just gonna be thrilled! I hope everyone has noticed that I have yet to make even one old broad crack. Just sayin’ is all. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy birthday!

Yummy, buttermilk biscuits!

[whinewhimpercomplainkvetch] That queechiness is back, and it brought a tensin headache with it. waaaah :frowning: [/whinewhimpercomplainkvetch]

HEE! Sean’s post about the Pitts****burgh Stee****lers made me think about a country song by this father/daughter country music duo The Kendalls back in the 70’s. They had this song called Pittsburgh Stealers which is one of the hootiest country songs ever! I wish I could get the music to go along with the lyrics for everybody to hear. It’s so awful! I love this song!

I do so admire your restraint…

you old geezer…

What was that?..

Ya old broad…

Just popping in to wish you a very Happy Birthday FairyChatMom

Jim

Hey y’all, thanks for the Happy Birthdays, and for making me feel like one of the cool kids!

FairyChatMom it is nice to have an easy-to-remember birthday, and my mother simplified it even more, as I was born in 1960! I don’t know why, but I thought I was 47 today, and was confused this morning when my daughter insisted that I was only 46! Since my husband is out fishing we are going to eat leftover chinese from last night, but I am going to sip a little in the evening. My mother sent a bottle of cranberry wine for Christmas, and I have been saving it for today!

When I moved to the village in '89 it was into a HUD program, intended to lure people into living out there. I was staying with a friend when the guy came out to make any repairs and officially move me in. He said the house was done…I walked into an Easter-egg house! The artic entries, hallway and the very small bathroom were painted a deep deep blue, one bedroom was dark purple, one was forest green, and the third a most bilious yellow. Mind you, I like color, but this is the land of much darkness, and if ever a house needed to have a white interior, it was this one! I refused to move in until they painted it, which they did, but I will never forget that horrible first walk-through!!!

My plans for this new home (we moved in September, I am still unpacking) are to do the kitchen in Tuscan colors, golden yellow walls, poppy red curtains and appliances, sage grees accents. The living room is going to have light rose walls, and I want charcoal grey furnishings with rose pink and forest green accents, and a dove grey carpet.

I make an effort to not know what is going on in football, as it only encourages my husband (who is a fanatic) but are the Seachickens really going to the Superbowl??? I will never hear the end of it when he gets home…

I have my reasons for picking on the 'hawks. I was born and raised in Seattle, long before they had a football team. My grandfather was one of the major construction supervisors who built the Kingdome. (My grandmother hit the first baseball in there too, btw, much to the dismay of some mucky-muck who wanted that distinction for himself!) I rooted for the 'hawks for years before giving up on them and turning my back on football in general. However, my husband is, as I said, a fanatic, and my parents don’t help, they keep sending him Seahawk gear. So whenever they are playing, my husband has his Seahawk tee shirt on under his Seahawk sweatshirt, his Seahawk cap on, and the scary Chucky-type Seahawk doll that dances and sings the Monday Night Football song, and husband pushes the button every time the 'hawks do anything good…like running onto the field!!! Honestly though, I do watch the Superbowl, and I will be hollering for the 'hawks for both my husband and my dad, especially if they are playing against the Squealers…errrr…Steelers…

Y’all may regret opening the doors to me, I get a bit long winded, but again, thanks for the welcome!

kaiwik welcome to the MMP! I am honored you chose a week when I OPed to make your entrance. Seachickens <snerk> that’s funny! This from somebody who’s state team is named the [del]Turkeys[/del] Falcons. I am not a pro sports fan. See, whenever any pro sport went out on strike, I went out on strike. Thing is, I’m still on strike. Take that pro sports! So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

The thing about the MMP is you can never be too long winded, too off topic (the whole object is to hijack the OP all over everywhere) or too TMI.

The next part of this post is for donkeybear.

I did indeed see your post last Saturday about [del]making each other dessert[/del] making dessert for each other. I was remiss in my <snerk> but see I was just about to go out and get somethin’ to eat with ol’ you know who, so I didn’t get around to it. Never keep a bear waiting when he’s hungry. Remember that.

Not a problem, rigs, and yeah, congrats are appreciated, thanks! As for the additional TMI, hows this: we are also quite open to the possibility of adding people to our marriage. And I don’t mean conceiving or adopting.

Happy Birthday kaiwik!!!

There are many here who will be rooting against Seattle, because of the way Holmgren left us. (I couldn’t care less, I don’t like football.)

Happy Birthday to the Birthday Girls! Why yes, I believe I will have a biscuit.

Yesterday I made duck a la orange finally, and it seems I was given a defective duck. Because no way was it me who roasted it funny so it was nasty boogery fat a la orange. Best leave the duck roasting to restaurants and concentrate on my cinnamon roll variations. The pumpkin pie rolls with cheese cake frosting received thumbs up.

My car is at the mechanic’s and I am afeared the news is not going to be good. It broke down on the way to work and luckily a nice fellow stopped for me after I’d walked maybe five yards so I wasn’t even late for work. I had it towed and forgot to leave the keys so they had to get a few guys to pick it up and move it, how embarrassing!

Right now I’m trying to line up financing on a new one since it looks like there’s little advantage to buying used. A silver miata this time, I’m thinking. Or grey. No, the silver. Wait-- how grey is the grey, I’m wondering. If it’s like an off-black then I want the silver. The silver is nice no matter what. So definitely the silver. Unless the grey is pretty…

The SDMB is blocked at work, again. Only this time the filter is insane– I can’t visit half the museum websites because they’re classified as entertainment. I’m an art teacher so museums are pretty much required, ner-duuuuhhh! I know where the district’s head tech guy lives, anybody got some spare rotten eggs I can borrow?

My TMI? Right now, my kitty is playing the cello and she’s really loud.

Hey, when I first began to frequent this board your user name struck me, as I am big on bears, (check my location!) and you were about to make an exodus to Seattle!

The only sports I enjoy are bull riding and dog shows!!!

Long winded and off topic, that’s me!

And I’ll work on my TMI!

(stupid submit button works too quickly, grrrr)

OK, this struck me as a secret agent’s code sign. So, here’s your countersign: Vanilla oboe tuners dance on postage stamps.

Evening, everyone. Just dropping by to say hello and that I’m going to spend the evening reading The Bread Bible in preparation for baking. Either tomorrow or Wednesday is Baking Day. Dunno what I’ll make besides whole wheat bread.

I was gonna post a buncha pictures I just took of the new house, but Photobucket is being a poopiehead and not allowing me to. But I got as far as tracking down the camera, finding the batteries, loading the batteries into the camera, taking many pictures, turning on the computer, locating the camera cord, and downloading them to the computer. And then Photobucket had to go and mess me up on the final step.

Stoopid Photobucket.

I’m going to go have some chocolate cream pie.

Chocolate cream pie makes everything better.

Happy Birthday to all, and to all a good night!

As for me, I’ll skip the biscuits - I made chocolate chip cookies! Some go in the freezer, some go in to work. And of course, some go in my belly tonight!
