MMP- Out of control

Hey guys. It’s five minutes after midnight. And that means you missed your chance to wish me a happy birthday! That’s right - I was born at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on New Year’s Eve in 1973. Not close enough to the new year to be exciting, but born in time to give my dad a tax deduction for the year, so I think we started off on a good footing.

BTW - whenever I call my parents and my dad picks up, and he finds out it’s me, he says “Hi sweetheart!”. I love that.

So my exciting birthday was spent at the mall. Mom and I came home, and they pulled out a cake (with my name on it. But no candles. No need to burn down the house), and they gave me a couple gifts. I already had their big gift anyway - they gave me a 140 hour Tivo and the lifetime service for it. Oh, and a suit. Oh, and a piece of rolling carryon luggage with a matching smaller bag. Nah - they don’t spoil me at all. Then Mom, Dad, and I ( I drove to visit them on Friday) went to see King Kong. Then we came home, and popped the champagne. Dad’s watching Monty Python.

I have some work to do at 12:30 (boo, hiss!). Then today (it’s after midnight, so it’s officially Sunday), we’re going out to dinner with my brother and SIL. To celebrate my birthday. Again. That’s three times - one dinner out in California with my sister, the cake last night, and dinner at a Japanese restaurant today.

Susan

Happy belated B-day, susan! Aren’t you an adorable little tax-deduction?!?

Our kitty has been slow to relax, but she’s coming along. We heard her chomping kibble and using the litter box last night, but any time we spoke to her, she bolted for under the bed. I woke up to see FCD sitting up in bed, which spooks me - sometimes he has nightmares. But today it was good - he was skritching the kitty. I heard her purring - not nearly as loud as our late kitty, but still, it was a good sign. Then she walked on my pillow - we’ll have to establish boundaries about that!

I got up and came out to feed the doggie and take her out. I left FCD and the kitty to bond. The new year is starting well.

Happy New Year, MMPers!! <flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon>

Happy New Year, everyone. I celebrated a bit last night.

I need more coffee…

Happy Birthday Susan!

Happy New Year to all the MMP kids!

We celebrated at a friends house and have just gotten home. We slept there. We had a great time at the party and I was smart enough to eat plenty and drink plenty of water between drinks. So, today I feel just fine.

Mr. Taters, who NEVER dances, was a dancing fool last night. He had just enough booze in him to not care. Of course, the rest of us were dancing too. I haven’t really danced in years, but I guess I did alright. All of us worked up quite a sweat.

I feel like I danced off everything that I ate or drank last night.

I guess I should clean up now. We basically got up, drank some coffee and then left our friends’ house. Our hostess was feeling a little iffy this morning, so we didn’t want to make her suffer.

Happy new year!! The Wild Cherries stayed up until 11:30. That’s the latest we could make it. When I heard the fireworks going off, I nudged CherryHusband and gave him a Happy New Year smooch. He and baby are napping now. Party animals, aren’t we?

I always intend to make blackeye peas on New Year’s but never remember.

Our big event will probably be to go for a walk. Baby Cherry is dying to go outside and play!

Our wuss of a kitty is still hiding under the bed. She has issues. No pics yet… We’re trying.

A name comes to mind - Wussy Pussy.

First, YAY! Everybody’s gone home. I’m tired of company.

HAPPY NEW YEAR MMPERS!!!

I have been tasked with making dinner tonight, because abbreviationlessboy has offered to make dessert.

Help!

I’m thinking a pasta dish that I’ve made a couple of times before that had chicken and pasta and mushrooms and tomatoes and such, but using italian sausage. We both adore sausage, so it should work out fine.

Some arsewhole is lighting off their leftover fireworks right outside my house. As if last night wasn’t enough. Teh!

Decorations are down and put away for another year. There’s a turkey breast in the oven for dinner and it’s smellin’ really good.

Poke chops are for tomorrow night.

Here’s wishing a new improved year for alla my friends here at the MMP! We Rock!!

Hello!

Back from wedding and then from Dishwashing Husband’s cottage. I’m proud to say I’m not hungover. The wedding went okay, but it was a chaotic stressful insane kind of okay. I’ll save it for the new MMP. Mr. Lissar took lots of pics so there will be wedding photos up sometime this week.

Time to laze around some more.

I made curried chicken and brown rice, we worked together on a cucumber salad, and he made a something that involved chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, peanuts, marshmallows, and peanut butter.

I give it an A-.
