Well, considering I don’t even have a study…
My degree is hanging on a wall in my office. I figure that’s the only place where it might even matter to somebody, so there it is. I get more comments on my bird pictures and my big sailboat picture though.
Awwwww…go and deflate the dream…
You needs yourself a study, mah boy.
What the heck are you on about? It was posted at 7:21 AM EST. Well, EDT.
Peeps = win. They’re gelatinized sugar, mixed with sugar, coated with a colored sugar layer, and then sprinkled with sugar for good measure. What could possibly be bad?
Drae, I’ll be an intern for the Navy this summer, starting June 5th and going through August. Most likely I’ll be working on mathematical simulation software, much like what I’ve been doing for my physics professor at RPI for the past two years. Not my ideal job, but it should be a fun summer. I’ll worry less when I have a place to live.
psst … LOUNE … Telperien is a female-type person …
My diplomas are framed and hanging in the “office” section of my living room. I worked hard for them sorta and I figure I deserve some accolades for my effort, even if I’m the only one who sees them regularly.
She’s a girl, and a lovely lady at that.
Mah girl, then.
:smack: :smack: :smack:
Nope, not my liver, nor whatever that second site was. (Although, they are named for the liver-shaped leaves.)
More like this.
Only, mine is kind of purplish - they actually have some natural variation, and I waited until one bloomed purple at the nursery I was working at, and snapped it up!
Least Original User Name Ever, I keep trying for that pie, and I’m getting nowhere. Does that mean “Minnesota Nice” doesn’t work?
I’m not sure I even had them send me my diploma… I wasn’t very fond of college.
All of my diplomas are in a box somewhere in the basement. The company that peddles everything to graduates (Jostens) used to sell a keychain sized diploma you could carry around with you. I don’t know, to flash at inyerviews?
Well, I’ve only got a few slices of pie…I can’t just go handing them out willy-nilly.
Fine…you get pied. I can see people screaming “fraud” when they realize half the MMP ended up with pie.
…as long as my (new)enemy Hal Briston doesn’t get pie…
So Draelin, did you go to Target? Waiting for the shoe report.
I don’t want pie, so is that OK? One more slice for others. I don’t like pie. I like apple cake, though.
My diplomas are stashed, too. Not that I’m not proud of graduating, but it wasn’t that big of a deal to me. I graduated off-season, as in December, so I didn’t even really have a big ceremony.
When I get home - I’ll hit you guys up with the first Indian Holiday for the week! (Don’t forget, I’m doing that this week.)
And how long was that, two hours?
And the pictures.
At LEAST two hours.
No, actually, before today’s outburst, It wasn’t until Saturdayish.

Sorry, Spats! I didn’t know it would offend you so much. Frankly, I’m offended by pie.
Why take some perfectly good fruit/whatever, mash it up, throw a bunch of syrup and sweet stuff, and shove it all into a baked good?
Actually, I’m rather picky on my desserts.
I don’t like brownies.
I don’t like apple pie.
I don’t like ice cream most of the time.
Don’t like carrot cake.
Don’t like key lime or lemon meringue.
Don’t like anything that’s all chocolate.
Don’t like custard.
Don’t like cake.
Don’t like cobblers.
Don’t like pudding.
Don’t like tarts.
What do I like you ask? Plain cheesecake. Tiramisu. Creme brulee. I like to think my dessert tastes are refined, but probably not.
I love a good meat pie, though. But occasionally I will give into a slice of pumpkin pie.
I didn’t know it was possible to NOT like pie.
NOT LIKE PIE?!?! WHO DOES SUCH A THING???
I can see not PREFERRING one pie over another…but to just…
CAN ANYONE SEE THIS MESSAGE?
throw out pie as an institution is just crazy talk!
IF NOBODY SEES THESE MESSAGES, I’M DOING THE SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES FOR MOST EVERY POST NOW.
I’m not offended. I’m surprised. No, this goes way beyond surprise. Mere suprise is inadequate to describe the shock I am experiencing. This goes way beyond surprise and well into astonishment. And then it stretches the boundaries of astonishment until finally it breaks through into flabbergastion. I am flabbergasted.
:: keels over ::
Young man, I am appalled that you would suggest that Michigan should win even though I’m pretty sure they’ve won more than their share of their encounters with the Buckeyes. I have 2 degrees from that other large Michigan university and did time at OSU (not to mention I’ve lived in Columbus for over 20 years), so my loyalties are strongly anti-UM. Do I need to mention that I don’t really much care about football?
Diplomas and graduation…didn’t go to my undergrad graduation. Can’t remember what I was doing that day, but my options were either go to graduation or go to other event and the other event won out. I went when I got my M.A., though. It was smaller because it was just the grads and the one other masters’ student in my program was also graduating (we’d been office mates at one point and went through the whole program together), so it was fun. My diplomas are in my resume documentation file where I keep everything that proves that the information in my resume is true. One of the diplomas is actually in a nice little case.
Oh, and cut Mom some slack, young’un. She probably just wants to be proud of your accomplishment. Yes, it’s not super-meaningful until you land that job, but it’s part of what could make you more qualified for a good job. What’s your major, anyway? Do we know this? (Shouldn’t we know this since we’re counting on you for our retirement???)
Peeps…who knew they were so controversial? I think I’ve eaten one Peep in my life; not yesterday. But I find them really amusing.
Oooh, Shibb, we had some kind of Thai chicken for Easter dinner. I had no idea there was a Buddhist holiday too! So we kind of observed (or at least acknowledged) all three holidays.
Mika, how can you not like such a long list of yummy desserts? There’s not a one in your list that I don’t like. Of course, I like the ones you like, as well. I prefer desserts that are on the less-sweet side, but I really really love desserts. And good pies are…well…really good.
Yay, taxi on the third interview! Go Tel! (Who do we bop upside the head so that they’ll hire you?)
Thanks for all the compliments on the OP… Hi to everyone else I’ve missed. I’m once again pondering dinner… Just a little something since it’s pretty late.
Off to the kitchen…
GT
Just checking in to say we’re home safe and sound and pooped. We got all the furniture to the third floor *(WHEW!!) * and had a nice visit with the Florida relatives. We left Ocala just before 5:30 this morning, and got back to the house about 7:30 this evening.
I’ll get all caught up with the thread later - probably tomorrow. But I knew you were all worrying so now you can chill.
No, I didn’t hit the lotto. I suppose not buying a ticket has something to do with that…
