That’s beyond awesome! Lots of good news this week.
Everyone be sure to post lots of pics of the Fateful Meeting today.
Today is laundry and was supposed to be grocery and bed shopping but it looks like that might be put off until tomorrow. We are in conversation about the best day for it. Hmm. Tomorrow is supposed to be baking and Firefly Indoctrination Day. Hmm. This could get complicated.
You guys are all so nice. Thanks.
I go to boot camp July 20-29. They call it boot camp–it’s a quasi-immersion course/orientation. I’ll have to write a paper. (haven’t written a paper since college).
I am floating around the house, trying to organize chaos for the plasterers.
I need to talk to my boss. This could get interesting.
Hmmm… Rigs gets accepted to liberry school, we get all excited and the google ads are about back and hip pain. Maybe it’s a warning for all us old coots not to jump around too much.
[pissy remark] I don’t know as I like folks loitering in the wings, making remarks[/pissy remark]
I just tried to get a cabinet down by myself–them suckers be heavy, man! I gave up and will wait for my portable muscles, aka #1 son to get home from school.
Thanks again, guys. If I weren’t on meds, I might have a drink to celebrate.
there’s alot going on, but it feels good. This is very good, because I tend to stress out on stuff and I can’t believe how laid back I am about the whole kitchen thing etc.
Roofers were here at 0700. Not a one of them spoke English. I hope their boss speaks Spanish. I don’t know what they did on my roof. Hmm, looks like rain, too.
Cross your fingers for me, please. No more nasty wet plaster.
Didja miss me? Probably not. Probably didn’t even notice I had to take some time away! But all of our big events are over, and we’re just doing the clean-up and after-stuff now.
Spats, what a great OP.
How freakin’ true. My first “true” love was not freshman year but rather junior year. I’d transferred to SUNY Albany, and I met him in September and was head over heels by late October. We were only together 18 months but it was a whirlwind, let me tell you.
Sean, the more I think about it the more I think that’s quite a good quote for life. I like…can I borrow?
Congrats rigs!
Also congrats to all who need, Happy-whatever to all who need, hope you feel better if anyone is not, and good luck packing **Spats ** and taxi.
yawn Back to work. Can you believe I’m working on preparing work bills? As if I don’t do it enough home. Still, it could be worse - could be me spending all this money.
<flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon> for** rigs** and Rebo!!
I’ll be leaving in about a half an hour to meet up with Taters. I did get an email from susan who won’t be joining us. She claims it’s because of work. I know it’s just that she’s a’skeert of me. Because of, um, I dunno, my aura? Yeah, prolly just work…
That’s all I got. I need to change out of my work grubbies into something semi-presentable. Taters has her camera and she’s gonna take care of the photo spread. Which is good because I’m a lousy photographer, plus FCD is taking our camera with him.
Speaking of pearls – would you all know a string of black pearls if you saw them? The reason I ask is, I have an absolutely lovely strand that I adore … but they have garnered exactly 1 remark in the year I’ve had them.
Don’t get me wrong; I don’t live for compliments. It just strikes me as odd that nobody (except this one woman who used to work here, and now she doesn’t) would say anything about them. No “nice necklace” “hey gorgeous pearls!” no nothing. Maybe they’re butt ugly and I’m the only one who loves them. I just think it’s strange.
EC I’d notice your black pearls. But then again, I would.
Pot roast left to mellow a couple of days then reheated is excellent. I mean, I knew already that pot roast is one of those things that’s good when it’s had a chance to sit for a day, but who knew two days would be even better! I never had pot roast the second day before. If y’all remember, I made the pot roast Sunday evening to have last night, only I was all sinusy and yucky yesterday and had a meeting last night, so it didn’t get eaten until tonight. ACBG and I ate it all up! No pot roast left. We were like pigs at the troth. I’m amazed we even remembered to use knives and forks.
He’s gone home cause he had a bunch of paperwork to do, so no spend the night night tonight. We’re planning on it tomorrow instead. Just as well, tonight is the season finale of “Gilmore Girls” and we know I just cannot miss that!
